Yeah you only need to be in battle stance briefly for Rend OP and TC whilst the rest can remain in Berserker Stance given you so more DMG in Berserker with the 10% damage

Hello just joined this channel after spending a bit too long trying to figure out if whirlwind would be an useful addition to my bars or just bloat (as an arms warrior). Seems to be slight (minimal) dps increase on 5+ targets over cleave. What do you think? 🙂

Unless you PvP, you can definitely get away with playing as if battle stance was locked in. Heck, you can get away without stance dancing if you find it annoying. It won't be optimal but you're certainly not throwing by doing so

dunno if someone replied, but for magmaw, tank is supposed to tank him in a corner, and everyone else stacks on the other corner, that way youre considered behind him and wont get parried

Hey guys, quick question maybe someone can help me. I just got the Fury of Angerforge trinket and now am asking myself if i have to delay my 2 min cds at the opener because i cant use fury of angerforge without 5 stacks.. so do i wait at the opener until i have 5 stacks and then press my 2 min cds all together or do i just use them unsynced on cd? maybe someone can help me. I used the tol barad exalted trinket until now didnt have that problems with that

Just use it with Deadly Calm or Reck, in your case in your second Deadly Calm should be good

it seems like generally you need to better follow the priority of CS(no debuff) > MS > OP > SLAM

also on maloriak, dont press whirlwind its a dead button

just do ST with cleave in place of Heroic Strike, and pressing Tclap on CD to cleave

but for example on Omnotron defense, you dropped slaughter 3 times throughout the fight, on a fight with 0 forced downtime is a big loss

His opener isn't great, he didn't charge in, he wasted a gcd inside deadly calm by using rend.
He should have lined up fury of angerforge with a colossus smash.
In my opinion execute phase needs to look like, Execute, Execute, colossus smash if available, mortal strike, over power, Execute, execute.
Weaving mortal strike buffs your execute damage by %10, weaving overpower gives a chance for you to gain some rage back instead of dumping execute constantly and being rage starved.
Lots of little weird things he does that aren't optimal but he's not doing bad by any means.

HEy i've been trying to figure out my Prot warrior. but i cant seem to find the right way to tweak it. using that Auto "avoidance warrior" on Transmog. but i ended up with like 78% avoidance, 32% Expertise and 1.8% hit.. i have full prot gear and i'm 349 ilvl -.-

As threat isn't a big deal in Cataclysm due to the 500% increase, any preset on any reforge addOn will completely ignore threat-generating stats such as hit, expertise or critical strike, and will focus on maximizing survival rate. If you want more of those stats you can have them but you will be losing some avoidance. Also remember that Taunt, Challenging Shout and Pummel can't miss in Cataclysm, so you don't need any stat for them

As long as you are pressing buttons and landing some hits you will be fine

Make sure you have your stance dance macros, and also you can macro Rend/Overpower with charge, like this

This will get you in melee range if you are not, and if you are it will just use Rend instead of Charge (Change Rend for Overpower if you want to use it with Overpower, it works the same way)

Macro /cast Berserker Stance into everything barring Overpower (MS, Slam, HS, Cleave, Colossus Smash).

Make sure you're uptime on the boss is as high as practicable.

Hit to 8% Expertise to 26 then Crit ->Mastery-->Haste

Wait until the end of taste of blood > switch arm stance > overpower > overpower > then switch berserker stance ..
I can't find any information on the internet, but it seems more optimized to me to switch stances once to use two overpower attacks and maximize the time in berserker stance.

As long as you're keeping MS on CD, using HS above 65 ish rage CS when you don't have the buff already active and using your OP proc before it resets or low on rage then you should be fine. Tbh I struggle figuring out if I should use slam more than HS or vise versa

For that you want to use overpower with 4-5 seconds left of taste of blood, since this can proc once every 5 seconds, it last for 10 seconds, and rend tics every 3 secs, so you will be proccing taste of blood every 6 seconds aprox.

If you want to maximize your DPS then yeah stance dancing is still used as arms in cata.

Rend, OP and Thunderclap (to spread rend DMG in aoe) for Battle stance and then the rest can be used for Beserker stance.

However some people have said to not macro Heroic Strike to any stances as the main use for it is to stop you from rage capping so I'd use that in any stance as changing stances costs rage as it is

there are no dps bursts in ST, and you should have a full CS window for your trinket/reck etc. in any case if you want to optimize that aspect tell him not to reck before rend, that is a lost gcd during reck and he is doing it constantly. rend > reck is better. in any case, as i said, he is underperforming due to more fundamental aspects

There really isn't one. Your best bet is going to warcraft logs, going to top parses, and looking at the cast timeline

The differentiator seems to be good CS burst windows. Theres big dmg spikes correlated with deadly calm & getting a bunch of HS off in the window. The weaker logs don't sync this up as well. You can tell the gap in the dmg/casts from HS. & then consistently getting OP/MS in the CS window too.

If you have a free global always be using slam, heroic strike will always be in addition to global locking yourself with colossus smash, mortal strike, overpower, and slam. if you use heroic strike and you rage starve yourself so that you have a GCD go by where you can use an on-gcd ability its a dps loss. the exception is when you have an incite proc non battle trance heroic strike you can use in a colossus smash window along side mortal strike and an over power, and that incite proc is going to go unused otherwise (i.e. the buff is about to fall off), then you can use it instead of slam. However this is a super niche situation, so if you simply use heroic strike exclusively in moments of excess rage, for battle trance procs, and during deadly calm window spamming it, you will be fine

With t12 2 set and apparatus the opener is Prepot -> Battle shout+Berserker Rage+Inner Rage+Synapse Springs+Charge -> Rend+Heroic Strike -> Colossus Smash+Deadly Calm -> Mortal Strike+Heroic Strike -> Overpower+Heroic Leap -> Overpower+Heroic Strike, and then continue with your normal rotation using Apparatus as soon as Synapse Springs falls off and you have 5 stacks. On Ragnaros, you will wait 50 seconds and then on your second Battle Shout+Synapse Springs->Colossus Smash you will recklessness/heroic leap and continue with normal rotation. Other fights will demand specific recklessness usage, but in general, if you can only get one recklessness usage you will save it for execute phase. This is also when you would use your 2nd golemblood potion. If it lines up you should also have a battle shout synapse springs and heart of rage proc for that recklessness also unless your heart of rage wont be up for long enough in execute phase

Do you have specific questions related to the boss and your rotation or im not sure what your question is. On staghelm due to the mechanics your parse will almost entirely depend on taking damage as infrequently as possible and maximizing your uptime on the boss since he is leaping away a decent amount. On shannox it will basically depend on your uptime on the boss as doing things like running rageface through traps or dodging stuff or being kited away by your tank will reduce your uptime and your dps. otherwise shannox is pretty much a tank and spank so im not sure what you want to know

Looking at logs of top DPS warriors I dont see this to be prevalent at all and just from a commense sense perspective doing this would mean one of your abilities (MS or one of your overpowers) would not benefit from CS debuff so this doesnt seem to make a lot of sense. Also based on my understanding of snap shotting and how dots are refreshed the next MS you do outside of CS would overwrite the stats of that rend so that it didnt benefit from the debuff anymore. Don't think this is right but if you have some logs or analysis to prove this id be interested to give it a look

Sorry I should have specified in that post. You do indeed need to include inner rage, because if you do so, you can 1 extra heroic strike usage in your opener. When you colossus smash+deadly calm after your rend+heroic stike global, your deadly calm will include a /cancelaura Inner Rage macro that you will spam. This will allow the next heroic strike going into colossus smash (paired with mortal strike) to retain the lowered cooldown but you also have the deadly calm buff. Of course, if there was an extremely fight dependent mechanic that required a genuine inner rage usage sometime in the first 30 seconds then you wouldnt want to use it, but I don't think there ever is a fight like this.

From my very basic testing the 4 set bonus at my gear level is around a 700 dps increase. Just based off comparing the two, this number could be lower in fights with less than ideal uptime compared to the 2 set bonus, and the 4 set also scales heavily off weapon damage, so with a 391 weapon the bonus is probably slightly more valuable compared to having a 378 weapon of similar overall ilvl. But 700 dps increase is about half the DPS increase as going from zoids normal mode to the greataxe heroic was for me at my gear level, so i'd say it seems pretty good. I also use a weakaura that is anchored to my mouse cursor that doesn't disappear when I hold right click to turn camera, and if you use the heroic leap macro it will jump to where that weakaura and thus your mouse cursor are locked at, without you needing release right click to aim heroic leap

I wouldn't macro any moves together. Including chsrge and rend. Any time I wrote ability1 + ability2 that simply means abilities used in the same global cool down. For abilities on the gcd in sequence, that's when I used arrows like ability3 -> ability4

I do however macro engi gloves into battle shout, and apparatus into deadly calm, although I have a separate keybind for apparatus as well

It's not required but macroing inner rage into charge is also fine although it's good for that to also have it's own bind

On heroic Shannon's it's also useful to have a mouse over charge macro to charge weave the dogs if they come close to shannox so you don't have to Un target shannox

I wasn't sure where to put this exactly but I'm annoyed and wanted to gripe. I apparently pulled aggro on Shannox and got grieved pretty heavily about it, how unloading on the boss on pull is wasting everyone's time. Reviewing logs, I didn't charge until 4 seconds after pull, giving tank time to get in position, and didn't go up in the chart til a solid 7 seconds in, simply doing my normal rotation. The tank pulled with Faerie Fire and only auto attacked, saving his mangle til 8 seconds in when the entire raid was already attacking the boss. Another warrior was even on the meter, which I marked as "Not me", til I started attacking lol. Now I'm having to wait a solid 10 or 15 seconds so I don't "unload and grief everyone". I guess this is just part of being a warrior? Video to show me charging in from the right.

But its mostly coming down to your play style pref this tier. You will do most dps with the specc you enjoy playing! Technically they are really close now with fury a littlebit ahead if 2x hc gurths. Before then arms a littlebit of edge compared to fury, but it all comes down to your pref play style. Both is massive pumper specs this patch

  1. sometimes u drop the cadence of Mortal strike - x - x - Mortal Strike, youll add in an extra OP or CS in the couple of examples from this kill
  2. sometimes u randomly OP in execute, you shouldnt ever really come across this unless you press MS and then dont have enough for execute, which youll have zerker rage for ideally

Hey everyone. I'm in a unique scenario with my current raidgroup, all through progression I was parsing very high and my dps was great, however we run a super cracked demo lock, fire mage, ele shammy, and sub rogue that all have prepull sets. With the 20% nerf (soon to be 25%), our killtimes are so low that I've made my way from the top of the back to the bottom. I'm almost thinking that on fights void of cleave / aoe that fury might actually outpreform arms on some fights (particularly Ultraxion) Where i'm getting drastically outshined by comps that are taking advantage of mastery / prepull sets and mechanics. I'd try the cata server but the only thing under they fury thread is, "Dont play fury." I'm an oldschool 8/8H Player, and bored trying to theory craft to make it through the next few weeks before mop hits.

Yep mastery snapshotting deathwish is super fun! Ive done it alot and i highly recommend it if you are not into arms! Curently my mastery snapshot gear gives me 65% damage on deathwish for the first 30 seconds! Gapping the opener 🙂

circle of flame and 2 pvp trinkets (one 390 one 403 because the proc ID's are different). Start the pull with +2700 strength before pre pot making that 3900 after. Keep in mind your trinkets will be on ICD when you switch back to your normal set though

I run Eye of Unmaking and Bone link which dont have an ICD Like Creche if I decide to do anything prepull

Rag trinket is giga ass but also has no ICD and ive seen it used at very high levels of play because of that

Fury is better for fights without cleave or aoe phases in my group, but we have DS on farm and we have bosses dying insanely fast. I have a mastery set of junk gear to get my mastery to 4300, circle of flame to proc pvp trinkets giving me 2700 str on pull, pop deathwish to snapshot that mastery, prepot and equip my normal gear. Brings my deathwish up to a 50% damage increase (from 30% in my normal gear). However after your first deathwish all you can do is pray for mega gurth procs because you turn into a wet sock really fast
