So apparently according to icy-veins I just never hit mortal strike and instead err on slam and heroic strike as Arms warrior. I tried playing like that but it feels so weird. I tried a few sims using https://wowsims.github.io/wotlk/
It seems the icy-veins rotation is a net dps loss for my character, lighted he's in Pre raid gear still.
speccing 3 deep in improved mortal strike plus glyph seems to be a 100 dps gain. I take it heroic strike+slam method just scales better with gear?

You can’t have too many melee in icc and the gear will be extremely contested

The sought after specs won’t be melee but moreso buff/support specs

The only relevant bosses in icc are Professor Putricide, Sindrigosa, and LK

warrior is dope on LK but you need about an even amount of ranged/melee for PP and Sindy

if you wanna try all that out just spend some time on warmane

Your guilds overall kill times are the major barrier. At this point in the phase you're not going to see a lot of variation in your parse %, the top end is loaded with gimmick 75 you're fine

Spec into arms until unrelenting assault then go prot. Google “UA wotlk warrior leveling” for the spec or just join the wotlk warrior discord (Fight Club). UA is far and away the best leveling spec post level 50ish. Can solo botanical garden with good gear for great xp once a bit higher level. Open world becomes a joke, you are basically unkillable and do more damage than you would in fury or arms

Can anyone explain the reasoning for losing so much hit with t9 bis? It feels weird going from 200-220 phase 1-2 down to the phase 3 bis on wowhead/icyveins only having 3.33% hit.. i don’t have a threat issue yet (5k gs) but I feel like threat will start to become an issue with such low recommended hit rating

Yes we have faerie fire and my expertise is at 32-33 so I’m a bit over cap, seems like all the ToC gear I’m getting is + expertise and I’m losing hit, just don’t wanna gimp my hit rating and start running into threat issues

well expertise is 2x as valuable in terms of your attacks landing- compared to hit

so if youre gaining even 1/2 the %expertise as you are losing in hit% then you should be fine

note: this 2x value for expertise is only until the softcap which is when you have enough to be undodgeable from the front

Hey Guys, interesting question for you. I've just hit 2 piece Tier 9 which should give me an extra 2% crit on Berserker stance, but everything I have seems to only show me with a bonus 10% crit (5 from Berserker stance and 5 from Rampage) am I missing something here?

id calculate your crit% based off your crit rating then remove a tierpiece accounting for the potential loss in crit rating and compare that way

also make sure you are in berzerker stance

Berserker Stance and Rampage only provide melee crit right? So based off my screenshot you can see my melee crit being 10% higher than my ranged crit.

I'll swap back one of my tier 8 pieces as the crit from the item should be fairly similar thus if it's being calculated properly I should see a roughly 2% drop + or - a little extra right?

Swapping out the Tier 9 Pants for Legging of Cunning Deception you can see my crit goes up a tiny bit due to the non tier pants having 7 more crit on them

So I'm having a hard time figuring out why my dps is drastically lower than wars at my IL and lower
I seem to be seeing wars in my guild with similar gear other than a trinket I have dark mat and they have Comets is the biggest difference
Like on some fights I seem to pushing 7 or 8k and they are around 9 or 10k dps
I keep hs up (cleave in aoe) bt and ww on cd and proc slam when it's up
Things I found to help keep hs up is I macrod hs to my slam so I que it on a proc also hs to my sunder so when ever I hit sunder it ques a hs
Or is this hurting me?
Is there anything someone has found to help there dmg

The macros are hurting you if you are rage starved when going to cast bloodthirst or whirlwind and can’t.

For looking at logs check (yours vs top parsers):

1. Bloodthirst, whirlwind, slam cpm
2. Crit rating
3. Wasted rage
4. Kill times
5. Cooldown uses

I can regem easy if having to much armpen is hurting
I just thought I'd want to be atleast soft cap outside of runestone would be a big plus
I belive that hc strike was at the start just getting a cast till they are stacked or my sund/hs macro
If I hit that to refresh sunder in cleave situations I try to quick switch the que to cleave so looks like 1 could have gone off
I was also drinking that night so that would explain the excute, might have just spaced for that fight but normally sub 20% I execute and ww/bt on cd

Usually you don’t want to gear around a trinket proc

Hi, I performed an average parse of 74.5 during this Insanity 25 man run. Beyond the obvious such as Icehowl hitting a player an enraging, what could I do to improve my logs? I watched the top warriors on YouTube and tried to perform the same way they do. Changed glyphs for some fights.. used a weapon desync macro.. rend weaved.. was top 1-3 in every fight but still, my logs seem mediocre. On Anub'arak I made the decision midfight to continue dpsing the borrowers beyond 600k overall damage as I didn't want to grief the raid on my parsing mission. However, what other glaring issues do you see from the data in the link? Very keen to learn and improve! TY!

The stat priority at wowhead for wotlk classic is right. Take 3 points in precision & make sure you have 5 percent hit via gear, echants & gems. Make sure your expertise hasn't fallen off too far, you're looking for 26/26 or 23/23 if you have the racial affinity for weapons (human sword, orc axe for example). Arpen caps at 1400, if you get the mjolnir runestone you soft gap at 650 because it gives 750 when it procs, anything above that is doing literally nothing for you. You can then use the rest for strength and/or crit depending on what your sims tell you.

Death's Choice proc seems better since as Fury in raid you get 30% extra strength so the raw Attack Power proc is 1326

For fury, if I have a 1h weapon that is significantly higher dps than my current 2 handed offhand (170 vs 145), is it worth it to swap to the 1h in the offhand? It would make my WW damage worse but should increase AA damage significantly, is that worth, or is there any other major downside to equipping a 2h mainhand and 1h offhand that I'm not aware of?

Well you are clearly leveling up, between BC and WOTLK, there is a significant scaling up, so maybe it could be an upgrade in yours stats, but it will be imo a downgrade, in damage, even in stat, a 2h will always have better stats than 1h (except for like 200 2h vs 258 1h or large ilvl gap) you will reduced your damage and your rage regeneration (imo, but I'm quite sure about that)

if you have some extra honor, get some pvp pieces for a quick upgrade (esp weapon/shield) and then yea you gotta get on the heroic ->alpha->beta treadmill as well as complete your weekly onyxia and daily heroics

60% mov speed mount at 20, 100% at 40.
From lv58 onwards you can go to a different continent called outland (through the dark portal in blasted lands).
There you can pick up flying from 60 I believe.
Do take some professions like skinning or mining to make some cash to be able to afford riding skill and mount

I think it's only worth it if you have 264 and above for the last 2 pieces. Plus you're best getting 2 of those pieces from VoA anyways which will save you a ton of emblems so I would honestly go for 2 set t10 for now and grab gatecrasher gauntlets as they are much nicer than the tier hands imo.

Honestly I'm struggling myself as to when to remove t9 2 piece given the 2% is very nice compared to the 4 piece t10 which seems a little under whelming.

I think you always want to use heroic stroke no matter what. I can't seem to come across anywhere where it says execute is prio over heroic strike

If you have precision you will have that 3% but it just won't show on your stats. You need 8% hit so you'll only need 5% with that talent

Best to sim it on wotlk sim. Put your gear in and then place the wep you want to use and compare the two to see which is an upgrade

Yeah you never use slam outside of a blood surge proc. Outside that, I tend to only use a blood surge proc when BT and WW are on CD but I'm no expert on the spec so I'm sure someone else can inform you

Sim for your highest upgrades, usually the rule of thumb is weapon >tierset>trinket…

But it is all relevant to your current gear so you need to sim to be 100% certain

Rend is best for single target fights which are most tbh. The only time I can think to use cleave is for trash pulls, Lady DW, and Valithria. Possibly LK too given there tends to be quite a few adds in that fight.

You still want to sunder and use Shattering throw. That's it's own thing compared to max Armor Penertration so getting 5 sunders and Shattering will do even more damage
