Orc is slightly better threat wise with axe spec and blood fury and tauren has a bit better tankiness with extra stam, I would go for orc but it doesnt matter that much tbh

If u are UA prot with axe spec + orc it gains good value ye. Deep prot without arms axe talent its not too big of a deal, but nice bonus ofc.
If are buying honor weapon, pick axe. Otherwise take what you get/find. I myself got MGT axe as fresh orc prot and its as good as kara/za items tbh

If you are levelling you should definitely be playing prot in my opinion, revenge is just too busted. I never pull less then 4 mobs and aoe em down in no time

The sweet spot for UK spam leveling is to get run time as close to 5? Runs per hour to max out the reset lockout. If the clear takes too long as solo/2man, bring third. Bosskills are good exp too and the loot is nice de/gold

How was warrior as a tank in wrath. I only played prot back in the day. Leveled with it. Quested in it. Mostly dungeon spammed .But thats when i started playing and icc was current bybthe time i hit 80. I never really did much beyond a few heroic icc bosses. I do remeber bieng able to do some heroic dungeons in 3 seperate pulls. Pulling all trash to boss room to aoe down. Dont think i ever tried with the boss. But i also remeber never bieng able to succefusly do that one heroic dungeon where the lk would chase you. Lol but yeaaaahh i guess i have a very biased perspective so how were they actually. With the way meta sniffers run the game i worry was prot so far below the others that itll be a dead toon unless i want to dps

Prot Pally best overall, depends on phase for Warrior. Probably the best for Naxx, don't need cooldowns and we can pull more AoE threat and do more damage. You'll always be able to find an OT role anyway. More versatile then the Pallys. Fury is end-game best DPS so could swap later.

That is also amazing for 2 reasons

1. An insanely good amount of damage especially for short fights
2. The heal scales 1:1 with healing power so you can get a heal power set and pre pop the trinket then armour swap for an insanely huge HoT for the duration

improved taunt, revenge, and sunder aurmour have 2 floating points between them

i opted to put one into taunt and one into revenge

2 into taunt is really good for when you have annoying dps that dont wait

but in raids- and especially for boss tanking(most of which are taunt immune in vanilla) the taunt one isnt great

What i like doing in dungeon aoe pulls is charging, def stance then demo shout to get aoe threat

but without anger management all that rage from charge will be lost

what should i do instead to get aoe threat?

force reactive disk, oil of immolation, thorns, aoe taunt, sapper, bomb

tbh i dont thunder clap in dungeons so the mobs attack me faster and generate more rage lol

also if youre swapping stances you cant pool rage between pulls

you can use bloodrage in between pulls to keep from dropping combat and losing your pooled rage

it goes something like:
0:00 - pull ends
0:01 - drop combat
0:03 - first tick of rage loss after dropping combat
0:04 - bloodrage
0:10 - start walking into next pull

if you are super down bad for rage there are little tricks like shield bashing (even if it isnt casting) because it is pretty cheap and has good base threat

another big thing is making sure you have windfury if youre horde

but for damage reasons and mobs dying fast sometimes it is better to just heroic strike after a sunder or two

like 5 sunders on 1 mob then it dies is pretty worthless

most of your pulls will look like:

1. demoshout to group
2. sunder-> tabtarget-> sunder-> tabtarget
3. taunt-> shieldslam mob running to retard warlock
4. revenge mob running to retard hunter after picking up the mob chasing the warlock
5. taunt other thing running away

having a macro to mark skull will help

if you have more than 70 rage send a couple heroic strikes

you will miss some stuff, glance some white hits, get dodged, and get parried

thats why reactive disk/thorns/sapper are very handy

oil of immolation is literally op

and aoe taunt is really handy especially for when party members ass pull an extra group

an aoe taunt+ shield wall + sapper can save the day

so can aoe taunt + Limited Invulnerability Potion

If your friends can target one mob you can tank perfectly fine in arms spec, which will make solo leveling much better

If you spec into prot it will make questing suck kinda(there is also a survivability aspect in killing mobs faster since that means they will hit you less)

And as for hybrid of the two you won’t really have the luxury until you’re a much higher level but you would go like:
-Max out “defiance”

-max out “cruelty”
-then go fill out the arms tree

Prot side is only worth if you’re going to be using a shield but tbh in vanilla I would always recommend 2h tanking in non raid content

In low level dungeon when you only have mail/leather having a shield can be handy

And even if you are 2h tanking having a shield swap macro is super important

Thing is fury-prot > arms-prot

So it’s like… have some gear and be fury prot, have shit gear and be deep prot and suck at questing even worse than normal, or have a decent 2h and arms tank

So the hybrid is not something I would recommend at max level, but merely a way to balance questing and dungeoning at lower levels

I was able to have a decent time as fury prot in scarlet monastery

But for questing 2h is the way

And for poop gear deep prot is the best for threat

Yesterday though I did the swap to fury, which I realize might be a mistake if I want to continue tanking since I don’t make it down to finish anger management.

But it’s still fine to tank as fury right? Obv I miss sweeping strikes but other than that what is really the difference?

Guys Im lv 51 on hc and I'd like to hear some opinions on a fitting talent build. I play duo with a priest so I either find myself AOE'ing 5+ mobs at a time or tanking dungeons. This takes 1hander builds out of the equation since I rely so much on WW and Cleave.

Im considering the following builds. Please help me pick or suggest one I didnt consider.

there are things like im not sure a mob with no shield can block, and a mob cannot be parried when attacked from behind

and there is the important factor of the mob youre fighting to be a lower level than you for those rules to apply

Frenzied assault from sylart upstairs in the dolnar inn after talking to the innkeeper. Lvl 10 so might need help. Return to the innkeeper after killing him and he gives the rune. First time I didnt get it but I think it was since others in the party might have done too much damage.
