I didn't read the whole conversation, but I assume you're talking about the fact that some weapons have a X.1% difference in DPS - it means absolutely nothing and is just due to Blizzard's display rounding. Secondary stats and special effects notwithstanding, all strength weapons of the same ilevel have the same performance, whether they're axes, swords, maces, or polearms

SimC calculates weapon dps for simplicity, but as I recall WoW actually uses the weapon damage - ultimately they're the same
wdps is just (min+max / 2) / speed

but there's also a built-in +/- 5% variance in either direction; something that nominally deals 100 damage will actually deal 95 - 105 in practice

and so the wider your weapon damage range is, the wider that +/- 5% variance becomes in turn

also just talking about modern wow where combat is made up of hundreds to thousands of damage events, there are enough that it's going to average out

as opposed to the much slower pace of Classic, where you might cast Mortal Strike 10 times in combat and have a reasonable chance of falling outside of the statistical average

Only when all of them are ahead of the curve, then your parses will do well.
