it's already established that Ascension OH + Writhing is > H BiS + double Duskweave, but that requires 3 sparks instead of 2, so it depends on what you can take out of your vault, what you expect to have access to from raid, and how long you're willing to wait for your crafting to come together

there's also a minor benefit to using your sparks on off pieces means you don't need to get items for those slots, so even though Ascension may be better overall, picking up 20-40 extra ilvls across two pieces of gear may swing that back a bit

best thing you can do is just wait and see what you get, then run a few sims, because there really are a lot of moving parts to consider

but at the end of the day, Ascension is never going to be a bad pick for Fury, simply because having an offhand gives you a lot more lattitude

that's another perk of Fury - the fact that you can upgrade one weapon and get discounts on the other makes crafting a weapon very efficient; since they lowered the crafting cost, 60 crests is the same that you would spend to upgrade a 662 1/6M to 675 5/6M anyway

So you get to upgrade two items for the price of one, allowing you to put the crests that would have gone toward your second craft into other items instead... and assuming you actually have enough Mythic track gear to spend them on anyway

I think this is correct as well.
The cost reduction goes off the lowest part of your "weapon set". So normally you would need either both a 1h and shield, 2x 1h or a single 2h at a set ilvl and it works even for the other types of combinations.

tldr if have mythic weapon your need to craft an offhand is extremely low, heroic bis is way better if you can manage to get your hands on it but even still if you dont have one crafted is not that much better than another random upgraded 665 and you are able to put your sparks/crests into higher ilvl duskthread pieces

but if you havent upgraded a myth weapon yet or dont have one then crafting can save a buncha crests on that too
