I'd say yes, because otherwise your Fervid bite is only a fraction of the damage it could be doing. On top of that, that's an extra 2sec reduction to your dragon's roar cd. It might in the very short term be more burst damage to just send shield slams, but if you could have gotten another dragon's roar by eating rends then I'd imagine it isn't worth it to ignore hitting thunderclap.

if none of those are upgrades and/or catalyze-able upgrades, then sim will tell you which trinket, DGE is actually very good for ST
while branch and icon are better for aoe
if gloves/legs arent an upgrade, i would go for branch though
