I'm so sad, Laguna. Apparently, everyone who visited my base hasn't gotten to hear my actual Bytebeat composition. I was under the assumption that the infamous Bytebeat bug (that started with 4.1 Fractal at the end of February) had been fixed, but nope. I've made a backup of my tunes with a mod that @wide ore referred me to (NMS Companion https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1879) that creates "bbt" files for any tune that's in your library, so for players who are on PC, it makes it easier to share these between saves and other PC players.

@swift shuttle @steel raft btw, do you know if there's any way to programmatically convert the tunes from NMS to .wav or .mp3, so they can be more easily shared on Discord without having to capture a game video? I noticed that my tune got slightly distorted in one of the videos I captured on Xbox, so I wish I could make something that feels more "legit."

I would recommend to actually backup the Bytebeat data (JSON) itself as well, from the save, to allow using it in any tool, instead of restricting to NMSC app, even though it is a great tool to use.

There is no way to actually convert the Bytebeat data right into something audible. It would require reverse engineering source to know how to handle the data and use of at least parts of source to turn it back into something identical to listen to. Of course that would not be allowed, but who knows someone may figure it out and comes up with a home-made approach. I have come close to fully deciphering the data myself, as you know. Not sure if I am willing to dive into this any further, considering time and effort required to even come close to something useful.
