The freighter kitchen i did yesterday is still spiritually the same. I think I kind of found the best way to model current day irl kitchens (to me) and I'm not thinking about how space kitchens would work. truthfully, you'd probably have a Star Trek-style replicator machine that spits out one of any number of tasty pre-programmed "recipes".

Bright Lights

Q: My base is too dark; how do I get brighter lights?

The brightest two objects in the game that can easily be used as lights are not listed in the lighting section of the build menu.

The second brightest object is the candelabra bloom, in the plants section of the build menu. The blueprint is available from the quicksilver vendor on the Anomaly. The 'bulbs' can be color-changed, but the light they give off is always slightly-warm white light. The model is not contextual and will always default to a vertical orientation; using as a ceiling light most effectively means using a basic wire glitch, but it can also be manually rotated and positioned. They require cyto-phosphate to build, although building them via wire glitch will not consume resources. If you need white light, this is your option.

The **brightest object **is the sphere creator, in the technology section of the build menu. Their light is straight up orange, not warm white (making it good for some things, bad for others). The model is very large, and needs to be sized down via resize glitch (or resize mod, if your system supports mods) for use as lights in many applications. You'll need metal plates, ion batteries, and paraffinium to build sphere creators.

I'm currently looking for a paradise planet to host a "hub" city built by myself and the community. If anyone is interested in helping I can link the coordinates. I will be setting up teleporters for easy access would like for at least 50 to 100 different people to work on this with me because to me its always cool coming across other peoples bases or creations but there aren't many places for people to conjugate besides the anomaly and some smaller teleport access bases. when you enter a system, the online services send you a list of recently updated bases. they'll be complete if you visit them; the owner does not need to be online. they also show up in your teleporter list.
the long version of this is that the process often has wrinkles. how many bases you get varies from player to player, seemingly dependent on Sean's mood at the moment. 😏 If they show in the teleporter list, the names may be incorrect. and if you try to teleport to one, it may not actually be available, giving a "cannot download" message instead, which is particularly worrisome since it should have already been downloaded. so... there's how it should work and how it works for you in any particular visit, which can be two very different things.

Base Display Disclaimers

The logic for other players' base display in Multiplayer is a bit complicated. It's very dependent on ODS -- what it serves and when it serves it. However, other variables can also play a role, like other players' base data in an MP lobby/instance, like when you visit the Space Anomaly with MP enabled or when you're in-group with another player. Which leads to Teleporters' lists being extra confusing to most players. So when connected to ODS, everyone's experience may still vary depending on their MP setting, if they've visited the Anomaly, if they've been in-group with other players. We've also had issues with ODS not serving the majority of bases uploaded to our NMSCord Hub system, which has been reported to HG's Zendesk. But to help raise visibility, we do encourage other players to submit bug reports about these issues. Please run !HelloGames for helpful HG Helpdesk links.

Keeping all this in mind, below are steps that could help reduce some of the confusing variables mentioned above.

Clearing Other Bases List

After you've made sure to visit NMSCord Hub's Space Station so you can teleport to it later...

Steps

1. Disable Multiplayer
2. Go to a system that has no bases at all (any system nearby or far away, warp or teleport to it).
3. Do a save there (it can be at the system's space station).
4. Close your game app.
5. Re-open game, playing solo, load your last save (which should be in a system with no bases).
6. Teleport to NMSCord Hub space station.
7. Check the teleporter's Other Bases.
8. If the list is blank, check the Discoveries Tab. Is Online Discoveries Services showing online / 🟢 Active?
9. If it is Active, how many bases do you see listed under Other Bases? And are you able to teleport to any of them?

Feel free to report here on your results when troubleshooting base display issues, following these steps.

If anyone really wants to show off a particular base of theirs, besides making sure they upload their base to ODS via their base computer, we highly recommend having someone join them, so they're more likely to see the expected and most current state of their base. no - but i can summarize pretty quickly.
that's based on a 32-sided polygon (what some would inaccurately call a 32-sided circle 😜 ), having a diameter of 7 half-floor tiles. i made the semicircle, then built down one quarter-wall for the first step, an additional quarter wall for the second step... rinse and repeat.

in order to get those you mainly just have to do the main story and eventually you will have them all. now a taxi is someone that has access to the place and that you can join in on their game to tp to them or join them at the location

What's the max number of bases that can be shown in one planet/system at the same time in game btw?

Limit of bases other players may see (if served by ODS when you've uploaded your save) is one base, per planet, per account (important note I must make here: not per game mode, as in you cannot have 2 bases showing to other players in the same planet across game modes).

And in-group, this is a different story ofc. This limitation is applicable to a base served by ODS, showing to other players via their Teleporter for instance, while you're not online.

Ah nice, but I wonder that how many uploaded bases in total we can see... let's say that Distira has 90+ bases or something, if those all got uploaded, how many of those will be seen for me for an example?

Theoretically, based on a game file setting, we should be able to see around 100 per system, which we did manage to confirm was possible / test successfully while we ran tests in NMSCord Hub prior to our Hub opening. However, at some point something changed with ODS. And we've bee stuck with an inexplicably reduced list of 20'ish at most. Devilin helped us submit a very thorough report of oddities via HG's Zendesk. But with HG's Endurance and Expedition updates, no clue when / if they'll be able to look into the issue or address it.
