So once you get your nutrient ingester set up, I'd highly recommend looking into making a handful of stellerator donuts and anomylous donuts (only takes dough+milk+hexaberries/Chromium metal).

Anomylous will give you upwards of 20 mil per scan of a new creature (assuming you hit around 50-60k credits per scan without it), and Stellerator gives you something like 3x mining rate. Both quite fun.

400 gamma root, radioactive planets have them...huge plants large as trees that spawn in large batches, easily spotted from your ship. And 50 faecium you can get from literally any planet with ground fauna.

How do you know if a planet is radioactive? When you scan it from space it says it has Gamma Root on it lmao...that's how you know.

Can you call your ship to you? Needs launch thrusters fueled and aqua jets installed to land on water. If not then reload your restore point? That was the last time you exited your starship...should be safe there. Then you can try again whatever you were doing.

I hope you're not trying to dive in a deep ocean in your suit. Craft the nautilon bay and use that to dive and never get far from it...you will die fast at the bottom of a deep ocean and you can't swim to the surface from the bottom or from the surface to the bottom without some serious upgrades and lots of oxygen or life support gels...just generally a bad idea.

That challenge and difficulty are the reason why the milestone needs you to get some sea glass. It's a difficult experience meant to teach you how to handle deep oceans.

Expeditions have focused task lists so they can a) be done relatively quickly and b) so people have clear ideas of what they need to do because they are timed events. If you want a more relaxed experience that's what the main game is for because there's no timer on it so you can just blindly go through and discover features and things at your own pace. But when an event only lasts two weeks and it's gone(for some platforms it can sometimes be as short as one week if they get the patch late) players have to know exactly what they need to do so they can get on with it and finish it before the timer expires and the rewards are gone...possibly permanently, as there are no guarantees there will be additional redux runs of these expeditions. Most previous expeditions never got more than the obligatory one redux at the end of the year those expeditions debuted in and for all we know they might never return.

It's really not a huge deal. It's a very minor small annoyance you only have to learn once and once you get it, it's never a problem again.

You can bring to your main save ships and multitools you don't already have on your main save. Like if you bring a ship or MT into the expedition from the main save then you can't take that back to the main save...because you already have it. You can't use this to dupe ships or MTs. But you can bring multiple ships and MTs from the expedition to the main save before you close out the expedition. You make one ship/MT you want to transfer be your your main ship/MT, then go back to main save, pay nanites to transfer them, then go back to expedition, change to the other ship/MT you want to transfer, go back to main save, and then you can transfer those.

Can't say I sat in my ship and looked for tornadoes...I imagine you might be able to see them but your field of view is limited. I suggest hanging near your ship so you can jump in to refill your hazard protection as you look for tronadoes. And make sure the ship's launch thrusters are full so you can call it to you if you get flung far away.

Water landing is to let you land your ship...not to let you dive deep. That's what the nautilon is for. Deep oceans can go well over 1000u in depth and ground to land your ship on can be very scarce to borderline nonexistent on some ocean worlds. The aqua jets were made to let you land your ship on those planets, but they were not made to help you dive. You need different equipment for that.

If you just close the expedition out there is a tally of your items and you get rewarded for cashing them in.

If you started on a fresh save it gets converted to a normal save and you keep everything.

If you started with an existing save you can opt to transfer items out using the expedition terminal on the anomaly.

Any major expedition rewards like the staff multitool can be collected from the QuickSilver vendor on the anomaly on ANY save.

No. It's not permadeath. Check the difficulty setting in expedition and see if you can turn off tech damage and make it so you don't drop your inventory on death. If it lets you it should be even less of a problem. But if you die the most that can happen is you'll have some damaged tech and you'll have to go collect your grave to get back your items.

At the end of the last Redux Expedition, from the expedition console in the Anomaly, I saw that it was possible to spend nanites to retrieve the multi-tool or the ship used during the expedition, similar to how you can pay nanites at the start of the expedition to get a copy of the ship on your main save. • officially, we can only play the expedition that's live atm, and atm that's expedition 17 redux, no atlas-themed corvette parts on this one, that's exp20
• each expedition has more or less the same number of milestones per phase - milestones here means "missions" - sometimes from 5 to 7, 8 milestones per phase. many of these missions are content that's already in the game, so the more knowledge one has, the easier expeditions are to complete. especially because milestone rewards often help completing other milestones, or are required to do so.

maneuvering is going to come from thrusters and heavy boosters, and the stats they give are randomized within certain ranges. remember that in general, if we add more than 3 parts of the same type, a 4th would be cosmetic - but for example, heavy boosters/aeron drive are limited to 2, additional parts of those are just cosmetic.

you didnt exchange existing ship for the wraith right, you added wraith to collection? then just exit ship, on foot quick menu/summon your other ship, then push items from ship cargo to exosuit cargo, hop in wraith, transfer from suit to ship cargo. remember, ship cargo inventory isn't copied to primary character if that was your plan

so basically, exp schedule is always up to the devs

equip a ship and mt. save, then pause/options/return to primary. goto expedition terminus, copy gear. save, resume expedition. switch to the next ship and MT you want to copy, repeating the process: save, options/return to primary, etc. as long as you dont end or iow "close" expedition char, you can do this as many times as you want/can

Weird, because my contents in storage def came from expedition into my main save. It was a base I didn't have in main save but built it in expedition.

You only keep everything if you started the expedition from a new save.

The game does not merge the items for you

No. The contents of your containers are universal per save file. So the base and containers transferred from expedition but because you had those containers built at another base or on your freighter they share the inventory with the ones already on your main save. Container 1 will always be container 1....you can build 15 of it on bases, freighters, corvettes, etc and what you put in one will be in all of them and what you take from one is taken from all.

But in my main save I couldn’t access the stuff I transferred over, and it wouldn’t let me take all of the rewards even though I completed everything. I even had the wraith as my ship but the items I brought back were gone. So I went back into the expedition to see if I messed up and it sent me back to when I was only 2/5 of the way done. What the fuck!!!???

Hours of playing is just gone after it told me I was completed it. Is this a known glitch? Anything I can do to get my stuff back?

What i do for the sub dives is prep fuel, prep the materials for the mobile sub platform, hit the rendezvous as close as i can, deploy, get in the sub, and hit Q to DIVE!

If you have the nanites you can make the Wraith your primary ship in expedition then once that is done return to primary and copy it out. Remove all the tech you want to keep on the primary save then scrap the wraith and repeat the copy out process ad nauseam.

I'm not sure what you mean by claimed from the terminal.

You can only have a single Wraith in your ship roster so if you are using nanites to copy one out that one needs to be salvaged before you can copy out another.

If you mean you closed out the expedition and got it from the QS vendor then that creates a dilemma.

I'll admit I have never tried scrapping a living ship so using it as a trade in might be the way you have to go.

If you claimed the Wraith from the QS vendor that ship may have different SC slots than the one you can copy out with nanites from the expedition. I've never tried it and checked to see for myself.

well, you could've brought lubricant over from your primary save if you had done that, and also there's a bunch of planets w/ gamma root and ground creatures, that will get you the gamma root & faecium (after feeding) you need for the lubricant, also, you should be able to summon the anomaly after first warp, have you warped at least once with your ship? if so, it should be in your quick menu, if it's not, you'll prob need to save & reload at that point

Its a blueprint not an item, so even if you didn't get it in your inventory you should be able to add it to your starship by clicking an empty tech slot

You only keep items and materials stored in cargo if you started the expedition from a new save. That save converts to a normal save when the expedition ends.

If you start the expedition from the anomaly using a save you have been playing then those items left in cargo get cashed out at the end of the expedition. You have to manually transfer them out using the terminal in tha anomaly if you want to keep them.

Then what's your point? Why would you want to buy ships for storage in an expedition when you can't keep that stuff anyway? Just sell excess stuff...the expedition will give you some units for it but I wouldn't count on the game being able to properly account for and sell stuff stored on ships other than your active one.

Ok so? You're losing units by buying ships anyway because they only trade or scrap for two thirds of their value so if you're worried about "what if you sell something for 5 units under the galactic average" remember, you are literally throwing away millions of units by buying ships.

you think it counts found ships different than bought ships? seems like we are splittin hairs - it would be interesting to know if they counted your bought ships and gave you 900 nanites even if you destroyed it before leaving the expedition

It doesn't matter if ships are found or bought. They trade or scrap for two thirds of their value. And you could say that you can find crashed ships for storage but that takes time and there are far more efficient ways to make units than collecting broken ships to store cheap trash for a few units. And most of the junk that fills your inventory during expeditions is just that...junk that won't sell for much anyway. You're better off just selling that trash...whether above or bellow galactic average makes no real difference. If you want solid units then make some unit farms...automate resources to make high value items from and sell them.

Scrounging items in expedition and splitting hairs about whether that junk makes a few units more or less is a waste of time.

i was really happy when i first tried using the older save to play an expedition, i was dirt poor going it. like all i had done was start a new game and got the breached ran. i was flush after that-

still didn't even have a freighter when i came out of the expo

not trying to make the most units, I aam really playing like it's fun, and i get interested in subjects that are shrouded in mystery like how this or that works. and i don't mind 'wasting' time playing games, as there is no point to making digital flowers red or blue they are still digital flowers. and if i learn something that day all the better. expeditions are like playing regular NMS but you get a punch list to perform a few tasked grouped as a theme. and that makes playing one worth it to me. maybe i am simple that way

Finding a building with a waypoint marker is an easy way to complete it. Interact with the save beacon then open up discoveries and rename tha structure (upper right corner of the discoveries page).

Like you find a drop pod and there is a waypoint marker that says something like - Gwubillo Plateau. You interact with it then open discoveries and in the upper right it will show that waypoint. You just interact with it and rename it.

it like they spec'd it to be mostly 1200 units deep and the land is far and few betweeen

I did that too, i was scanning for a freighter but selected a ship by accident

at that point i'd use the naution scanner to find another and fly it out of the sea

once you pick the crashed ship your regular ship marker goes away

the fortunate thing about crovettes they leave the marker as "last corvette used" on the nav ring

You can use the terminal more than once as long as you do not close out the expedition.

It's all phases complete and the final reward collected but BEFORE you exit using the terminal. You back out and use the MENU select screen to return to primary.

know what i remember seeing that on the menu, but didn't read too much about it. up until the last patch I was crashing on the menu, they fixed that (to my joy) but i've been menu shy all month

I told my player buddy if he really felt like he had to keep his frigate expeditions flying - you can return to the normal save send them out and come back to the expedition we are running... '

I hope he can make some fuel to go down again, i made the wrong selection and seleted ship instead of freighter thyen my fuel was less than 20% i went to another planet to get the Cyto-Phosphate to make fuel
