Not much to speak off...obviously there's all the usual slot upgrades you could not use in the expedition and bring back to main save. The main thing is, for new players that don't have amazing MTs like Staffs and Sentinel S class MTs there is an S class Alien MT in the Rendezvous 3 system station cabinet. It's not the best you can have but a definite step up from the trash you find laying around everywhere like rifles and pistols.

not sure i understood the question right, but exp17, 18, 19, and 20 reduxes will have exactly the same phase and final expedition rewards as the original runs earlier this year. i think that if you've unlocked at least 1 expedition reward before, you should be able to see the list of all past expedition account wide unlocked rewards if you goto collect expedition rewards dialog option in the quicksilver shop (can then just use the filters).

after you complete and claim all milestones, phase and final expedition rewards, you'll be allowed to put items back into the expedition terminus at the anomaly to bring back. (you can do that process multiple times, just dont end expedition)

yo im j=kinda new to expiditions like this how do i complete this, my understanding is that you get sent into a new save and you have to acheive something to get back and get the ship, can someone please explain to me? also what do i use the tech and cargo starting equiptment for

expedition is like a big quest, divided into phases, each phase has missions to complete, not much different from what you're used to in the game. each phase has a reward; there's also a final expedition reward. all of these are unlocked account wide, and can be claimed from quicksilver shop once per save, any save you might have atm, or future ones.

expedition character always starts from scratch, even when started from existing save and not main menu, but it's not the same kind of start. starting from existing character allows you to bring items to help your expedition character, but you'll only be able to bring a limited amount of resources and can only claim it after you warp once in expedition (that's when we unlock anomaly). you'll also be able to copy ship and MT from existing character for expedition character to use.

you claim the normandy from the quicksilver synthesis companion when the expedition ends, and it will be added directly to your frigate fleet. it will not impact your freighter at all

i believe it is guaranteed S-class, however i ran mine through a frigate base-stat calculator and it scored 0 of 14. i don't know if that's the same to all instances of the ship or if it even really matters anyway since the ship is invulnerable

What’s an expedition exactly? I’m still fairly new to this.

It's 5 phases of 7 tasks, each with it's own rewards, all on a theme or tied together by a story. It takes place outside of the continuity of your main save and earns you rewards that are across all your saves. And is an excuse to come in here and demand corvette Moustaches and lament how hard it is to fish out that one psychic octopus

So you've got 8 days, starting from scratch, to tick off all the items in a trans-stellar treasure hunt, and in the end you get a frigate that looks like someone nearly dropped Star lords gun in a black hole and pulling it out of the event horizon warped it a bit.

And this is why my career in marketing stalled out....

Point is, head to The Anomaly and look for the expedition terminal behind the Nexus
Unless you're on Switch or Xbox, then go outside and shake your fist at the sky.
If you're new-new, like "I don't have a save yet" new, you can start your game in the expedition - it's the bottom right panel in New Game. It's a good way to get a head start on resources, but a bad way to experience the beginning

Just bear in mind the reward for this expedition isn't a ship you pilot. It's one you send off to have its own adventures and then you get to do the admin when it comes back. (Assuming you have a freighter. If not, keep playing, it'll happen eventually!)

Apparently the Uncharted milestone requires you to warp to systems that haven't been discovered by any other player.

Took me a fair few jumps to get that milestone done

there's some feature now to put unused ships in storage and they don't count towards your max ships, I think

None that makes much sense...you don't have what upgrades to save what ship from what? Are you talking about something with your actual starship or the freighter you start on. Important to remember that everyone starts the expedition with the same resources and upgrades.

if you turn off multiplayer in the difficulty/networking options you won't see any other players even in the Anomaly. If you just want a cleaner radar without 100 save beacons

What? Nothing in this expedition requires indium...at all. Rendezvous systems are all yellow. Go through yellow systems to get there, ignore systems you can't go to.

If you're looking at the galactic map and see some system requires indium drive, ignore it, you don't have to go there.

early on you get an upgrade for a nautilon engine, I'm about to start phase 5 and haven't seen anything needing a submarine

one thing to remember, the expedition save is a separate life. When you return at the end of the expediton, almost everything you had or made is going to be shredded into currency and you will resume normal save game like before the expedition. You can upgrade the freighter but you aren't going to get to keep it after.

Go into photo mode and it should show the glyphs in the bottom left and you can usually take a picture with those in it and you'll have it even after the expedition to go back to wherever you want via portals.

You can put items in the terminal, switch to main save, pull them out, and then go back into the expedition. That lets you take as much as you want.

Only possible when launching an expedition from an existing save.

Last expedition with the spring-like flying animal I just made a base called "Sproing!" Deleted after I went back and got the pet.

There is a way. If you remember the planet you adopted the pet from, go build a basic base there. When the expedition ends the base is automatically transferred to your main save. Then teleport to base and adopt another of that creature for your main save.

Whatever you report is immediately made invisible to you. This is mainly to prevent player bases blocking portals to trap players, or prevent access to expedition rendezvous points, etc. So if a player built a base to encase a rendezvous building to stop everyone else from accessing it others can just make that base invisible for themselves.

Importing an upgraded ship into expeditions is the way to go. Lately I've been really fond of my corvette so it's the ship I did Breach and Beachhead redux with.

Well, I brought my tool and ship in. Essentially, I went in with about 5000 nanites so I could bring em both.

I'd have been a day or three doing this if I hadn't.

I've got over 7700 hours in NMS and I still constantly find ways to improve my equipment and get better stuff.

if you've done the nexus quests in the Anomaly, think of the expeditions as like 25 of those tied together loosely with a story

they will rerun Breach, the best part of that is reaching a depth of 1000 units in the deep ocean

expeditions are for introducing players to modes of play they might not have tried, like corvettes and freighters, or fishing or scanning

some people might mainly fight in space a lot and not have tried other things

these get people to see more of what they have available to try
