materials you don't send back via the anomaly terminal are converted to units/nanites, the equipped mt can be copied on the main save for enough nanites, other mts will I guess be converted in some fashion, units nanites and qs all transfer back

Guys... I've never experienced this issue before but I'm trying to shut down the sentinels on a planet at the moment. I've tried twice and both times two or three of the drones disappear into the sky and fly like halfway round the planet instead of actually fighting... I don't move very far but these drones seem to be pacifists or something...

When a station's pads are all full it doesn't let you in ... turning off multi is a good idea for that.

So one thing I learned by doing the expedition three times (that people probably already knew by now), is you can remove all/most of your corvette pieces that create modules in your ship's tech section, fill your ship up with junk tech modules, then put all your corvette pieces back on. It'll expand your tech slots permanently.

It tends to be pretty linear, but it's not hard to do missions earlier or later in my experience. Like, planets with water aren't rare, for example

I didn't do much backtracking, aside from stuff I did because I know some tricks. For example I went back to the first system to do the derelict freighter because I know it'll be an easy one there.

You're given a scatter blaster and two upgrades for it which should be more than sufficient (so you dont have to bring anything), but if you're looking to min-max, I am always the biggest fan of a kitted out neutron cannon

I tend to use a bolt caster in a supercharged slot with no upgrades on a C class multi-tool, because Sentinels start scaling up quickly when you upgrade things. After that, I collect Neutron Cannon upgrades (there are two S class on the expedition path, and 1 A class) then I switch to a fully upgraded Neutron Cannon and laugh as I two shot a group of 6 sentinels.

Pulse Splitter may be my least favorite weapon.

It lacks the precision and range of the Bolt Caster, and the insane damage/splash damage of the Neutron Cannon

And then you keep using it and you wonder if there's something better, and everything is just worse.

One thing this expedition gives you right away is the Orbital Uplink recipe (30 chromatic metal to teleport to the system's space station). You can only keep that if you start a save on this expedition.

Well if it makes you feel any better there's a method to play them that isn't technically a mod. Expeditions configs are actually outside of the game and get cached in a file. Someone found out you could just copy these files into the appropriate directory to be able to play old expeditions offline.

Btw, just finished the second expedition, again, super thankful and I think I'll always be convinced this is the best thing someone ever made for NMS. I wish Hello Games just like, implemented an easier in-game method of doing this themselves.

there is a weird behavior recently where sentinels will drift away from you and the threat meter will reset, so you have to be very aggressive and make sure they always engage you along the fight until the milestone is complete

Hardest to unlock for me was the hitchhiker one. I had to wait a long time for some random person to get a ride from, kept falling out or glitching when the ship flew out of the anomaly so took several tries. I went back after I was done to help others get it but kept getting stuck in other ships and gave up. Recommend making sure you make the teleport to station thing before trying to get it. I actually got stuck inside someone's engine and couldn't get out, luckily I had the teleport item to get unstuck.

Okay for reference, the button to copy corvette to main save vanishes once you complete all milestones (including optional), then once you end the expedition, it re-appears at the terminal in your main save. This assumes that you started the expedition via the terminal from your main save. This will not work if it was not started from your main save.

The story and gameplay limitations are neato and creative, and designing my Corvette has been very fun don't get me wrong

But the amount of bugs and crashes I experienced really dragged it down for me

And the rather underwhelming final reward didn't really help matters much, either.

Anyone else get the expedition done, go back to your main save, then try to copy over your corvette only to find it's not there? The ship icon appears but there's no ship. Going to the space station and trying to edit it, the display says there's no modules installed. No landing gear, habs, engines, nothing. I've seen on reddit that copying it again might work, then selling or trading the one that's a ghost ship will make the new one appear, or selling it first then copying it again might work. All seems a bit sketch to me. Just wondering if anyone found a definite solution.

Expedition doesn't seem to recognized that I've made a corvette. Seems the Furnish milestone was unselected in favor of something irrelevant (Land on Derelict Freighter). After adding the interior piece I was able to complete it. Also you can't dock it seemingly? So if you miss it and have to edit it later y ou need to build a base and power a teleporter to fulfill if you undock before furnishing it.

if you start with the main save, then you can grab a copy of the expedition-save equipped ship and mt at the end, for a certain amount of nanites from the main save. actual items, well you can transfer a set number of them (the transfer terminal only has a certain number of slots)

And you will want to do this to transfer corvette parts.

Hello everyone, I'm pretty new to the game and I have little question. I'm currently doing the expedition and I have done everything but have a problem with the milestone that says shut down a planet sentinel force. I can defeat all the phases of sentinel's attack but the problem is after i defeat that big robot at the last phase there are still some sentinel drones left that are so far away that I can't reach them in time or some of them are so far in the air that I can't even see or shoot them. No matter how many times I try the same problem happens every time.

its a sentinel pillar? pretty sure you need to go go the sentinel pillar and shut down with the "minigame" there(you can find the nav maps from salvaging corvette scrap)

i struggled with finding it too, the best way to get it done easily if you wanna skip steps is by looking at the player made bases and look for one next to a sentinel pillar. that's how i got it done

Go to a space station or nomaly and look for other players bases next to sentinel pillar. Go there switch it off, job done

For me, I got to the end before a sentinel pillar base was made, so I fought all the waves until the last one, then killed the drones before they floated up. After that its just killing the walker and done
