Well, there's my second expedition done and done. First was aquarius. Certainly fun, picked up a few things to transfer over for next time. I do wish the storyline part was more visble like in Aquarius, but I know not everyone likes "RNG up the next messaage" as a mechanic

do you have multiplayer disabled? i'd suggest disabling it, and then waiting a few seconds and trying again. if it still doesn't work, save+return to main menu, load save again, then find a different sunken freighter if this one still won't let you

so does every other biome mineral except gold - lithium included, but as was mentioned already, there's no waterworld in the starter system, and the starter planet is a gas giant indeed, and their biome mineral is crystalized helium

Current latitude and longitude coordinates can be seen in several places:

• On foot, using Analysis Visor;
• On exocraft, lower left of the HUD;
• On ship, below 2000u altitude, using cockpit camera

Tips to navigate to coordinates:

• Compass at top center of the screen provides North/South icons, they can be used to easily get to the right latitude;
• Getting to the right longitude first might be easier, after you can just use N/S on compass to get to right latitude;
• If current position is still too far away from right coordinates, get in ship, align flight path to reach one of the coordinates, fly straight up to space out of the atmosphere, and keeping that flight path as best as possible, pulse drive around the planet for a couple seconds, as if you were in orbit, then drop back down into atmosphere to recheck current coordinates. With practice, you'll get better at guessing just how much time you'll need to pulse drive for, while initially you'll rely more on short pulse drive trips, rechecking coordinates more often before reaching destination.

Note: Often players will upload a base near the shared location; check local space station teleporter.

no. this is basically me, giving you the latitude and longitude coordinates of a spot deep enough, and you just fly there. once near, land on water, and deep dive (i used nautilon)

see the coordinates you're at? it tells you, right above current depth. see the screenshot i posted above? see how the coordinates are different? see my depth? that's also in Adtow. in other words, not all spots in Adtow are deep enough, but there are spots deep enough. i posted latitude+longitude coordinates of a spot on that planet that i know is deep enough, because i completed the milestone there. the reason why i posted them is in case you don't want to search for a spot yourself - you can just get yourself by ship to those coordinates.

the character you're playing now isn't the same character as your main save - so practically, they're two different saves

when you get to your main save, or your other saves, and "collect expedition rewards" from quicksilver shop, this is what you'll see - if you claimed all phase and final expedition rewards

You could. I don’t remember what it comes with bc work atm but if there’s like “bonus damage to the eye beam and +hyperdrive range you can take them.

They are living ship upgrades so they’ll be the only ones you have for a lil bit, since you cant put your auto charge thrusters on the wraith 😦

You could also just copy the whole ship with the mods on them, remove what you want and scrap it then copy it again

am just a casual player and i always start from main.
you get to take quite some stuff into the expedition, from main save. i find that very helpful, since i want to have a base with hotspot miners (to help others and myself).

from main is the more convenient ("quicker") way imo. you can switch back to main save while exp is active (i never tried that yet).
copy your favorite ship and multitool into expedition too

end of exp: copy a ship and MT back to main save if you like, ressources and some tech too.
and they give you the money and nanite you earned for the main save, plus some for "learning words" and such

like a totally new save, the full adventure and no stacks of chrom metal from main save..

not items/currencies, but phase and final rewards are unlocked account wide, regardless of how you started the expedition character. this is what you'd see in your other saves, what you could "claim", "bring in" from expedition17 progress

to transfer items when started from new save, you'd need another player to hold items for you, and this could only be done after your expedition character converted to normal mode, and if your main save isn't permadeath

Easiest way to upgrade your weapon, believe it or not, is to remove the extra bolt caster modules and only have the main bolt caster weapon in the overcharged slot. This is because of how the Sentinels scale.

Try checking your Discoveries Tab. It won't let you see what fauna and stuff the planet has until you land on it and get out of your ship.

Like if you click on the Moon name on the left and it doesn't show information about it, you haven't been there yet.

What I did was look in the discoveries page - it lists some of the more prominent bases on a planet/moon in the description when you view the system. You can then target one of those bases to find the right planet/moon.

When you get closer, disengage so you can retarget on the planet itself.

on the other gas giant you can usually find a player base named something like "fishing spot" or "water here"

use visor to look for caves (subterranean relic, humming sac), and/or after you find caves, look for armored clam or crystal sulphide icons -- caves with water. that said, flying low and slow, entering photo mode to set fog to 0%, moving the sun to mid day, and moving camera past the player weather bubble can often help as well.

You can get most of the units and stuff back and stuff you built up in the expedition so alls good.
Having a few hundred mill and a few thousand nanites on hand makes the expedition easier, especially if you need to buy resources or something

Hello, I am here to ask for assistance. I am a newer player to this game and still don't know how a large part of it works. Yesterday I started the expedition 17 thing and while setting off in my ship found a black hole and thought eh why not. I didn't think it would throw me as far away from the expedition start area as it did and I am now quite literally stuck in a new system. Is there any way I can get back to the planet quickly? I haven't found another black hole or anything. I know it's possible to teleport to a base that someone in your group has but I am currently alone and have no idea what else to do in order to get back to the starting gas giant.

Did you land at a space station in the first system or phase 1, because you can teleport to that space station,
Also if you’re lucky you can go to the anomaly and go to the teleport there, there may be a chance that someone else is doing the expedition and may have a base you may be able to teleport to

I did not land at the station first, I didn't know I had to land on them to unlock the teleport before this. As for the anomaly thing, I have been trying to do that even asking for help in the anomaly but I don't get any replys

I've never seen Finish. The terminal unlocks after Collecting all milestone rewards. Then fill it up. Once I click End expedition the screen changes and all the items from inventory are processed.

I’m on the experimental branch, they haven’t fixed it yet. (Tho I didn’t test the very latest experimental patch, didn’t have any time yet). They are working on it tho, because in the photo milestone rdv 5 changed something in one of the patches. I hope they fix it soon😄.

Hey tell me if this is the wrong channel for this but it's to do with the expidition somewhat..

My friend has just had his game crash on him and for some reason it has reset his progress in the expidition massively.. its like it hasn't saved for the entire day but on top of that he's been reverted to an earlier save than even that as he's lost some of what he did yesterday as well which he's closed and opened the game in that time... just wondering if that's a common bug and if they're a fix for restoring his progress

no, for crush zone you need a waterworld, and the only one in expedition route systems is in rdv2, it's rdv2 planet itself. seriously, rdv3, rdv1, they're like 400LY away, just goto one of those, then open galaxy map, you'll have no trouble panning around and finding Haporin: you've been there before, it'll be easily visible, have its name above it, a white circle around its star

first number=latitude=N/S, look up at the compass for those icons. second number=longitude=E/W, look at the compass for those icons. get to one of those first, then stay on it as best as you can while you travel to the other coordinate

One sec, I think I remember how to find your way back

the idea here is to get latitude right first, by using N/S icons. when you're there, you just need to face a direction that lets you change longitude, but keep latitude the same - as in, you're traveling along the same latitude.

alternatively, build a base comp+teleporter, interact with it, see if you can find any uploaded player bases that say crush zone or 1000u deep or something along those lines

rdv3 is like 300-400 LY away from rdv2 system Haporin - simply galaxy map warp back to it

Pause menu, click on discoveries, review the list of “Visited Systems” scroll down until you see “Haporin” then set waypoint, then you’ll find your way in the galaxy map

To unlock the Organic Frigates you need to send Frigates on expeditions and at some point one of those missions will return the Dream Arial. If you are unsure if that has already happened, you can try to craft something in your inventory and check to see if the Dream Arial is an option.

As a complete new player, normal play. You got a few weeks to do expedition and it's actually somewhat easy if you use a guide so you don't miss anything and have to backtrack

Long answer, tornadoes spawn on all gas giants (afaik), so yes, you can do it in the p3 system

(though honestly it's much easier to do it before leaving New Atesfi (spawn planet))

Nah, don't bother backtracking. Either idle like bk says for a few minutes, or go searching for a vortex with chunky rocks and lightning in it. (There are smaller ones for effect that don't count, so be wary)

Do I need to go back to another planet like that one and collect pieces? They were all awarded to me during the expedition. Can’t figure out how to get them back. (Those stone arches and stuff like look like ruin pieces)

They’re not in the “stone structures” section, I assumed they were supposed to be in “decorations” they’re gray-colored

personally, i kept multiplayer disabled the whole time, didn't have to wait but 5minutes into a save before i got picked up by one while looking for crystalized helium.

was thinking it was going to happen while storm crystal farming, ended up happening in a fairly mountainous terrain that i didnt even see the tornado, i just felt it sucking me in and pushing me up

Is there a trick to finding aquatic worlds? I've been jumping to system that say water but no luck in finding anymore aquatic planets to get the milestone for 1000u

Rendevous 3 is an Aquatic world where its 1000u down

That one was a gas giant. I know rendezvous 2 was an aquatic world but I couldn't find a spot that was 1000u

remember to look at space station upgrade module shops when you first get the chance - get more fuel efficient, more range

rdv2 Haporin system does not have a station

you'll need to warp back

that said

all rdv systems are in the same region basically

you can easily see them, they'll be showing their names in the galaxy map even

if you're struggling, can just cursor over it in discoveries, and waypoint it, then open galaxy map
