Bring lots of oxygen and carbon! Also stuff like chromatic metal. Common crafting materials n all. Also if you can, head to an outlaw system and by yourself a lot of those tech and arms packets so you can open them up on the expedition and sell the tech modules for easy nanites

Use that to farm glass and inverted mirrors to turn into Nanites

i did that one entirely in rdv2 system, you'll just fly inside atmos of planets, open quick menu, scroll right, photo mode, press button shown on screen to take photo, wait for notification from system, then exit and it should count just fine:

• scorched (solanium on resource list)
• airless (rusted metal on resource list)
• frozen (frost crystal on resource list)

i asked polo for black hole coords, then went through it, took a warp at my current max range upwards in the galaxy map, had the milestone done in less than 10min, ignoring freighter rescue battles

Alternative sources:

• Some Component/Tech Vendor npcs in Minor Settlements/Planetary Archives;
• Waypoint/windmill save points, often next to buildings, the first time they're interacted with.
• Ancient Data Structure clusters on some planets;

i went to space anomaly, asked polo for black hole coordinates, went through it, then opened galaxy map, warped upward at current max ship warp range, had milestone done in 10min or so

If you're on Steam you can close the game, go offline, then open it again so you don't have a bunch of discovered systems around you. Or yeah the simpler way to say it is "turn off internet" lol
