ive got an issue.. im on breach 4 milestone, i used elixir of quicksilver to find a portal and ive got the elixir of blood needed to progress (it needed atlantideum to make) and its asking for a sequence.. im not sure what to do.. ive restarted the game, ive disabled multiplayer.. tried more quicksilver but it always leads to the same portal..

The other thing you can do is go to a Dissonant planet and look for a dissonant camp, the kind that leads you to the crashed sentinel ships - they usually have around 100 tainted metal in the scrap piles.

Yeah, creature egg is bugged. I tried it on several saves, and if you have ever had any creatures before, it just summons the most recently adopted one, NOT the gelatinous and luminous one.

There are only three special loot things that are on each derelict vessel: the Records Terminal (which gives a Crew Manifest), the Secure Mainframe (which gives a Captain's Log, but you have to have gotten Security credentials from one of the loose logs lying around first), and the Engineering Control (which gives a freighter upgrade. Are you saying you never found the Security Credentials? Weird. It's usually one of the first logs you find.

yea, i did it all from a fresh save state, i dont like how easy it is with all the resources from your other save. i find it takes away the fun of the challenge for me

How to spawn them?
Acquire an ESS (Scrap Dealer, Missions), then go to space, consume it, then pulse drive until you see the relevant encounter notification. Exit pulse to spawn the DF, approach and land.

Anything else I should know?

• Exiting your ship on a DF landing pad will not create a restore point;
• Your quick scanner highlights loot and log snippets in the room, spam it as needed;
• Possible enemies: Drones, Turrets, Jellyfish, Infestation pods and bugs
• Interact with every log snippet until you get the secure credentials;
• Only crates can drop Salvaged Frigate Modules (SFM);
• Look at arrows above doors: white for main path, purple for paths leading to optional rooms.
• To turn in the mission, you'll need to be in a non-outlaw system. Crew manifests and Captain's Logs items can be traded at Scrap Dealer or Guild Envoy, for Tainted Metal or Race Standing, respectively.
• The class each freighter upgrade module will drop in, and the stats it will have after installed are fixed per star system. Higher class isn't related to higher system economy tier.

crew terminal wants to do a bioscan; captains terminal will ask you for captains fate, any option will do; then for secure credentials, which you'll pick whatever is available

in short, keep following main path, interact with every log snippet you see till you get secure creds, loot every crate

Hmm. When you do the Records Terminal and get the crew manifest, it says it does a bioscan and can't find any matching crew on board. Presumably, you have to do that one first, which lets you provide the Secure Mainframe terminal with the captain's fate, thus allowing you to use the security credentials? I don't know, I've never tried doing them out of order. The derelict freighters are pretty linear.

What's a quick way to get nanites for the nanites mission

Find worlds without any underground creatures, scan all the creatures, and you can easily get 1-2000+ nanites per world.

Maybe not the fastest ever, but if you're scanning stuff anyway, it's usually not that much longer to find the rest.

I don't think you lose the stuff you put in, though? It just allows you to purchase those things with nanites during the expedition, but your main save should still have them.

I'm a little annoyed that you can't use the blood of a previous phase to go back. If you have multiple types of elixir of blood in your inventory, you should get to choose which one to use. It shouldn't be tied to currently selected mission.

Each freighter gives 2 logs which should add up to 600 tainted metal.

just click everything you can on those freighters. You'll find everything needed and should end up with about 400 tainted metals. Then go to the scrap dealer at a space station and sell the captain's log (and another one) for about another 500 tainted metal. You should get the milestone done with 1 derelict freighter

• Base stats don't matter much, unless you're trying to get maxed out frigates as a personal goal - it won't be necessary to successfully complete all expeditions.
• Recruiting C-class frigates with less than 4 expeditions and low fuel usage (2-4 for supports, 4-7 for non-supports) is a perfectly valid strategy, as they still have all their 10 rankups ahead of them, with the potential to become even stronger than natural spawn higher class frigates (note: Living Frigates are different, since they always spawn with 0 expeditions completed);
• The goal is to have enough frigates to not only run expeditions, but to have balanced fleets, always scoring at least 1 star higher than expedition difficulty rating;
• What is a balanced fleet? A fleet that's decently powerful on all 4 stat types, i.e. combat, exploration, trade, industrial;
• Later on, freighter fleet upgrade modules will help push every fleet you send to 150 score on all 4 stat types.

Alternative sources:

• Some Component/Tech Vendor npcs in Minor Settlements/Planetary Archives;
• Waypoint/windmill save points, often next to buildings, the first time they're interacted with.

that's a bummer though, if i knew that starting from main save allows you to then bring back stuff from the expedition but that starting on a new save doesn't, i would have done otherwise. I remember people saying the "proper" way is to make a new save, sure it's nice but all those nanites, units etc. I gathered go to waste?

well, "new save" isn't the "proper" way. it was the only way, before expedition 12. expedition 12 intro'd the ability to start the live expedition from existing save. starting from existing save is really only worth it 1) with some expeditions 2) if the primary save is fairly new.

that said, if your main save is still really new, nothing stopping you from abandoning that, and carrying on playing this now normal mode save

there's 3 systems.

breach 3. and breach 4 and breach 5.

both of these have suitable planets for the exotic fauna milestone.

breach 3 planet has 3 species on the same planet.

breach 4 and 5 planets have the 2 species between the two of them.

if you're in breach 4 system right now, then look for planet: Hijo 13/W8 (1 species, iirc).

leave the milestone alone, progress the ones till you portal to breach 5.

in breach 5 there's a moon called Dupraie T47.

edit: sorry, for some reason i was thinking it was 3 species for the milestone, it's just 2
