I ended up getting those by accident trying to catch other fish. I've had the best luck in deep water with processed meat as bait which gives +40% rarity. Not sure if another easy to get bait with better numbers has been found.

If you're not trying to rush, drop three each on two planets and log off. They have 4 slots so 3 will only get 12, the milestone needs 13.

I would also suggest picking planets you need the type milestones for. So if you haven't gotten your 7 uncommon hotfish, pick a hot planet

It's the same as harvesting oxygen from the snapping plants. Too close and you take damage. But with the clams you can just keep them open by shooting them once or twice. Each to their own I guess 👍

  Casting off, blue yonder, gone fishing: 1 and toe in the water will always be the first two you can do

Once you have obtained your own Fishing rig don't leave the planet. you now can quickly do multiple tasks for almost all phases:

• wading in (catch 5 fish)
• the one that... (catch a junk item)
• catch of the day (cook a fish dish)
• taking the bait (enhanced your angling with bait) (use the bait obtained in "hook line and sinker reward for this)
• hook, line and sinker (caught an uncommon fish)
• freedom of the sea ( released 3 fish back to the water)
• sun on the water (caught 3 fish that only swim in the day) (use the reward from "hook line and sinker" to help with this)
• pondskipper (deploy an exo-skiff) (exo- skiff reward from "freedom of the sea)
• freediving (swim down below 50u)
• child of the sea (build an underwater base) (base construction items from "free diving")
• the inky depths (catch a fish in the water where you did "free diving")
• night fishing (catch 3 nocturnal fish) (dont prioritise as you can passively do this)
• pearls of wisdom (harvest 15 living pearls) (also dont prioritise this as the final planet has many opportunities to do this)
• fresh sell fish (sell 500,000 worth of fish) (** you could theorietically do this but this is a passive thing you will probably achive by the end of the expedition**)

all of that above can be done without even leaving Stbury (the first Secret fishing spot)
i hope this helps someone! i cant really give a lot of advice for the rest of the expedition other than just telling everyone to not worry about getting all the biome related fish until they have the auto fishers (you can build 3 per planet), this means you can easily return to the planet later on and auto matically get some fish

If you put items in the terminal's cargo while doing your expedition, then switch over to your main save, you can claim those items without having to finish your expedition. I wonder if I can switch back to my expedition and transfer more items

Hey, I have a bit of a problem that feels like a bug in this expedition... After a few warps I claimed the Iron Vulture in the Anomaly. It completely replaced my existing ship for this expedition. I lost all of the cargo, and I can't find any way to bring it back. I'm sure I've done this successfully in other expeditions... Has anyone else tried claiming a ship and successfully kept the one they started with in this expedition?

As soon as I claimed the Iron Vulture my other ship was gone. It wasn't sitting in the anomaly (I checked all of the ships) and there was no way to bring the old ship back in place of the Iron Vulture in order to exchange cargo.

Oh well, I'll chalk this one up to pressing the wrong button (although I'm pretty familiar with how that works) and just get on with it. 😐
