Yes you can refine condensed carbon back into normal carbon. 1 condensed = 2 carbon and vice versa.

The reward is trying to upgrade the class of your ship or multitool but because you imported S class from main save, it can't. Switch back to the trash shuttle or MT you started the expedition with and then you can claim the reward.

You won't be getting any customizations back during this expeditions because no NPCs anywhere...even the quicksilver bot is missing. So you can't claim anything that isn't from the expedition terminal. Just finish the expedition and return to main save.

Your friend might have used a save editor. The harmoic camp only allowed unlocking the MT and marking a crashed interceptor.

Finding 3 mechs:

• select from the galaxy map an uncharted, blue system
• lifeform filter: white
• no filter: blue
• Enter the system, if it says "Use the galaxy map", there is NO mechanical life in the system (sshot 1)
• Warp to another uncharted blue. If it says "Discover synthetic creatures", at least one planet has the mechs (sshot 2)
• Land on each planet and check if it has 2 lifeforms, that's your planet

so the scanner upgrade is obv on the multitool, so when u claim ur multitool at the anomaly you can go and find the damaged machinery of the camps and use the scanner, it will spawn an abandoned autophage camp that has a void mote terminal and u can redeem everything u already have there

What do you need them for? I don't recall needing a single wiring loom this whole expedition. Did you break some tech? I'm not sure if abandoned station shop sells them, worth a look I guess. But otherwise you may only be able to get it by scrapping other modules.

Yes. If you want to carry items over, you put them in those slots before you start the expedition. Also, switch any ship or multitool you might want to use to your currently active one. When you get to the Anomaly in the expedition, you can retrieve your items and copy the ship/MT selected on your main save over with nanites.

At the end of the expedition, you can send items back to your main by dropping them into the terminal before you end the exped.

When I start the mission, there are 3 other players with their ships right next to me, walking around and shooting biological horrors. I get to the first waypoint and it's flooded with message modules, and there are other normal planetary creatures roaming about. I'm not feeling very alone...

They never said no players or multiplayer, they specifically said no NPC or working space stations. So, disable multiplayer if you want to experience this expedition alone, and disable internet altogether if you want to truly immerse yourself in loneliness and depression.

It is an excellent habit to have to turn off multiplayer as soon as you load into a new save. Even before adjusting the difficulty to what you prefer. It will ensure you are never bothered by anyone and you can play in peace.

Also when you are in the specific system, land on a planet and see how many creatures it has

It should be ONLY two

If it doesn't have two, then go to another planet from that system

not multitools, and "ship gifting" isn't a supported mechanic - so no, not really, there's no system in place for that

when you enter the system, the milestone hint lower right should acknowledge if there's a suitable planet or not

That's not possible because there is no tradable item in the game that can be sold for qucksillver like modules can be for nanites. Not without some BS like moding or save editing or some other form of cheating.

hey all, I've got a nasty bug where I cannot claim fathoms below, it says my inventory is full but i have 20+ slots on character, 30-40 slots on ship, and another 20 on sub all free. I've reloaded my save and it still says inventory full so I cannot claim/turn in.
