Trying to complete Phase 2 of the expedition but its making me do a lot of jumps, I'm like 10 in. Is this normal, or should I be starting ont he other side of the wormhole?

When you first visit the sentinel ship, you'll be able to take three items from it. When you visit it next it will want the fixed brain.

I collected the ship, and then it brings up the message "thanks for playing you can get your rewards from the quicksilver dude" and then when I hit accept, the game still thinks I'm in dialogue. So I can move the cursor around like I'm selecting dialogue choices...

No buttons do anything. All I can do is move the cursor.

(Quick tip) next time you do a expedition if there's a mission that tells you to go through a black hole (don't do it unless it's required) always do things in order especially when there is black holes involved due to the fact they can fling you waaaaay of course if you go through them

Your living ship should still be on your main save just as you left it

But you can transfer multiple ships back as long as you do it before ending the expedition

making you jump on the galaxy map 10+ times? for me it was 1 jump to get to R1 because i got the hyperdrive upgrade at the first system station. Are you sure that while you are in the galaxy map you have the "Current Quest" path selected? also in the expedition tab of the pause menu make sure that the R1 Milestone is selected and in your Log tab be sure its also selected there too.

I used the carrier AI fragment and it just went away...no marker on my galaxy map or hud. Found a dissonant planet and a sentinel pillar but how can I narrow it down to the ship?

So you fly over a dissonant planet low and slow. Find those dissonant drills and laser them with your ship and fly away.
Or land and stand kinda far and laser beam them, then run.
Some people don't really like fighting if they can help it.

I know it's a low chance. When I found one it took me 15 min. I had to break 5 of those drills.
But I have seen other people find them on the first try

Alright alright. Now, how does this expedition work with like transferring items before the start? I put stuff in there and start the expedition. Does that create a new save file? And when I finish the expedition, what happens to the items and all the currency I gathered along the way? Also, do I get back the items I put in (especially technology)?

If you’re on Xbox then I wouldn’t recommend using your main save. I used a previous expedition save from a couple months ago and it bugged out when I finished this one. Thankfully all the rewards were available in the anomaly on my main save after restarting.

If you have claimed them from the original expeditions, you can't claim them again. The fact that eggs can't be transferred over is also a pointless limitation.

Correction (my bad):
Whispering Companion Egg (EXPD_EGG_03) is rewarded for claiming optional milestone phase 5 after all!
I must have overlooked it in source, due to a different order listed in comparison to the other optional milestone rewards.
So only the BLOB is excluded from becoming available as a global reward at the QS Shop. (No product ID was ever created for it)

If you started from your main save, you should just go ahead with the expedition. The expedition requires an inteceptor, so you'll get to change your ship soon... you can also buy another before that if it bugs you that much

Doing the expedition again with my main save was worth it considering I got about 4 billion units out of it... (the cap, I just learned).

Also the inventory upgrades and modules...

Only down side was losing a significant amount of resources due to transferring...

I'm about to attempt to bring a couple ships back to my main save. I've done all the milestones, it's not going to end the expedition for me if I hit the return to primary save button?

That's fine just do not bring the expedition ship that you get from the expedition otherwise it will bug it out and you won't be able to get it on main

You can claim it on expedition save just don't claim it on main until you complete the expedition but I wouldn't claim it on expedition save yet because it makes things difficult and you will have a harder time transferring between main and expedition because it will remove the option to out of the terminal and you will have to with the menu instead

I couldn't have picked a worse save file to do the expedition. I didn't know we could bring back ships and picked my stasis farm save. Already maxed ships with all inventory slots opened up and most of them full of stasis devices. I wanted to bring back 2 ships but not sure now.

However when it tell me I van go back and such, I can't move.... I can move my cursor or recticle around the screen but I'm like frozen..... And I resyarted it several times.... Same result

Interesting, I sold all my inventory contents from my exp save and scrapped all my good ships before ending the exp, and I was still rewarded 53 mil for "inventory contents (172 items)".

That happened to me a few days ago, if you load up your main save (or another outside of the expedition) and it’s claimable at the nexus. Got the ship that way

Basically expedition is ship storage augmentation farm for nanites. You can copy your S ship from expedition as many times You want as long as You scrap the one Youe already have.

Plus random S class tech upgrades as a bonus

Same goes for multitool if You need multitude slots augmentation

if you want to get it as your freighter: shoot engines -> trenches, shoot shield generators + fuel rods that pop in after the former are destroyed, it will surrender

Having troubles with sentinels, finding a frigate underwater

Plus I’m pretty new to the game so o have no clue how to navigate some of the stuff

Man also I’ve completely lost where theoriginalstaring pint was

Find a building, or make a small base with walls and a roof. Aggro and kill as many sentinels as you can, when shield bar gets low, run inside base, or building and wait for counter to get to zero, and rinse and repeat.

Underwater freighter, you need that nautilus Submarine and you need to install the Scanner for it in tech, once installed, whilst in sub, enter quick menu using down on d pad if on controller, and use left and right to select find sunken freighter, it will then mark one for you. You have to be in water to do this like an ocean.

What is the easiest way (I am super scared of fighting anything lmao) to acquire the sentinel interceptor

if you have a pretty large amount of sodium (for shield repair), after you get the mission to get the hyaline brain, just aggro some sentinels and get them to follow you into space, then you can shoot down some interceptors to get the brain without too much difficulty

How I did it:

1. found a crash site by looking at the space station teleporter for a base with a helpful name (I had to try a couple)
2. got some radiant shards just by running around and stopping whenever a corrupted sentinel got close. The game tells you when one is close, and if one does see you mining things it will warn you and if you stop right away and don't do anything as it scans you, they'll let you alone
3. found another base that was close to a lot of dissonance resonators. Killed one to get the inverted mirror and immediately ran back into the base, where the sentinels could no longer find me. No fighting required, although I did take a couple of hits
4. did the brain quest, which doesn't really require any fighting anyway
5. ended up with an interceptor :)

Huh, the interceptor quest that I followed didn't give me a brain when inspecting the ship - I got a popup that I would need to fight interceptors and raise my wanted level first

Get minotaur, make sure it has barrel cannon, fight corrupt swarm. Once you finish the "maximum hunting level" (there are like 5 lvls, very ez) you will get the coordinates for a crashed interceptor

I don't think there's any other way

4 of the 5 eggs from the optional milestones are rewards from past expeditions. If you never played the original/redux Cartographers, Emergence, Exiobiology or Polestar... then those eggs will be available to claim from the Quicksilver vendor when you return to your main.

yes but as l understand this one is different because it allows you to play with an old save, l'm not sure if ending it will affect matchmaking so to speak, l know l can warp back to the base it had me make, but it'll be difficult to keep track of where she is and follow her around to help without being in a squad

The blob egg will not be available that way and the biological horror egg may only be available on certain platforms, but the helios egg should be available for everybody :)

If you find a nice ship you can retrieve it in your main save for like 2k nanites. The more units you get in the expedition the more you will get for your main save but I don't think you'll get all of em

I had like 5m units left when finishing the expedition, but with the other missions n stuff I got like 20m when finishing the expedition

I'm not too sure but the only way that would work is if you rendered in before the base compnents. Like a short range teleporter at max range, wait for the cell to reload then go back in and everything should be "rendering" in again

Hi, can someone help me understand expeditions finalisation process a bit better. As first time completing an expedition
1- Do I get to keep the ships I obtained?
2- does the money I have and manifest transfer to all my accounts? 3-will I get to keep the frigate as well?

1. Yes, but if you want more than one ship you need to copy them over before you end the expedition
2. Units, nanites, and quicksilver transfer to your main save
3. I'm guessing you can't transfer frigates (since I know freighters don't transfer) but I don't know that for sure

Assuming you started the expedition as a new save.

1. Yes, the save converts to a normal save so you keep everything on that save.
2. No it will remain on that save.
3. Yes anything obtained in that save remains in it, the save does not get deleted.

Assuming this expedition was stared via an existing save.

1. Only 1 ship, (current in use ship) can be copied over once the expedition is complete
2. Yes on the completion of the expedition you get your currency and some extra for certain things you did
3. Frigates will not be able to be transferred over to your original save.

Hmm so when you are in photo mode, are you opening the Xbox menu and going all the way to the right and selecting “capture and share” then selecting “capture screenshot”

Then the landing pad is causing an issue, save and reload at the crash site, the ship should be there, locate the closest landing pad there may be a NPC occupying it, interact with said NPC

that should allow you to purchase the ship from that NPC and skip the repair portion

If it flys away before hand, you now know the landing pad so correct the mistake and reload there

#1 install the multitool tech or ship tech you want to duplicate into a ship or multitool respectively
(then go to main menu if you have already completed the expedition) (if not then use the terminal to do so)

#2 after getting back into main save go to the terminal then select copy ship or select copy multitool both of you want them the tech will be copied

#3 go back to expedition save take the tech off of the ship or multitool you just copied and put it into another ship or multitool so you can do it again
(Note it needs to be a different ship or multitool every time or it won't work)

I have 2 extra copies of the gear from the main save ship that I cloned INTO the expedition, transferred them back over on junk but new sentinel ships. Never found any really good ships, just one Class A sentinel bug-sized ship.

Basically when you turn in your last milestone the expedition completes but the whole UI goes away and you can't do anything so you can't even accept your final rewards and the game doesn't auto save after that either.

Yea, so in previous expeditions, you created a new save and as "difficulty" you selected the expedition instead of normal, hardcore, permadeath etc. And when you finished the expedition, you got a little pop up message saying that this save will be converted to a normal save. That’s how it worked previously.

Oh, okay. I still get booted out of most of the anomoly vendors every time I buy stuff, the loading screen is about five minutes, and if I so much as alt-tab, the game basically shuts down. On my XBox, the sound cuts out every other time the game loads in. I wish they'd fix some of that stuff before they do any more updates.

And now, with the Omega expedition you basically have two options when starting the expedition:

2. Start the expedition as a whole new save, just like the previous expeditions. Without any option of directly transferring items at the start or the end.

At the end of this expedition I'm going to have a few of those special ship components to transfer to other saves ... if I every get around to it.

And I do also take my time in the expeditions. No need to rush and walking 3000u on foot and with the worst movement upgrades is what I consider fun and relaxing :DD

Exactly. The expeditions are really such a great thing. To be honest, i haven’t experienced anything similar in any other game. You do have tasks you need to do but they’re not forcing you to play the game 8 hours straight for 3 days. You can just relax and do those tasks at the same time, while you’re just chilling in the game, having heaps of fun. I just love it

I wish other space games had a mission system (including expeditions) half as good as NMS! I'm talking to you ED and SC etc!

Haha. True, Hello Games has really created something special and one of a kind. I really wish other developers and corporations would create their games like this, with this much love and passion. Generally addressing all titles, rpg games, shooters, whatever is out there.

NMS is the successor to the original couple Elites IMO, not Elite Dangerous.

I see I see. Well, don’t really know much about other space titles, especially what was before No Man’s Sky. When it comes to space games, I just know about NMS, THE legendary NMS xDD
