There are some parts of the Expedition you can get the jump on a little early and they have things like the Cloaking Device and parts for the Neutron Cannon as rewards.

With those you will find it easier to take on Sentinels and get the parts you want.

Mine a bunch of Atlantideum and get Radiant Shards early I think that’s how you can do it. At least part of it.

I was able to get a cloaking device really early in the expedition by mining a lot of Atlantideum I think.

Are you sure you can’t manage taking sentinels on yet? I just took out a few and dug a hole to hide in when I got overwhelmed 👀 you can probably dig the hole first even and then if you immediately find yourself in trouble it’s an easy escape

Fwiw, I also spent time fixing the multitool, but later rewards gave me the same/better upgrades anyway, so check what you have in future rewards, maybe you can save time doing it that way (I think mine was for the improved mining beam? W/e it was I got it from the expedition rewards right after I’d wasted all that time 🙃)

QS points are save specific, but once you spend them, the reward is available to be claimed on any save. Weekend missions are a good time investment vs reward.

Nothing game breaking. Just bragging right cosmetic stuff mostly. Though the gestures do let you communicate more concepts. But there's base decorations, character decorations, the void ship egg if you want a living ship, ship cosmetics as well as freighter cosmetics.

i went with the solar all the way, mostly because i was relying on upgrade modules to gap the distance, which ended up working out just fine, didn't have to do a warp longer than 800LY or so, so it was ok. i actually suggested before the exp started, for people to grab a sentinel for the easy warp range - did not use the advice myself (it's the 3rd time i'm running this lol)

During this expedition you don't really need much cash. You can get most from the planets or from rewards. I only bought wiring looms from a trade thing and crafted the rest.

Don't forget to use the personal refiner. Some milestones reward runaway mould. Put that in the refiner to get nanites.

Morbide refines into faecium for lubricants.

Chloride refines to salt, which you will need somewhere too

Look for those drill sentinels. There's always a few quads around them.

Tip for grinding ferrite/carbon/hydrogen: fly low to the planet surface and keep shooting the surface. Tons of resources without refilling your multitool.

Those drillers are on any dissonant planet. Each system you go to has one of those planets, iirc.

Echo come from hidden radiant shards. To find them, scan the area with your visor scan and look for radiant shards icons with an exclamation mark on them. Then go there and scan the area

This is why I always disable multiplayer in expeditions. Too many players always give some issue. Upload helpful bases show up anyway and you hardly ever need another player to get milestones done.

Jetpack? There is no jetpack expedition reward from the singularity expedition, you might be getting milestone rewards confused with rewards that actually can be claimed on other saves.

Only the phase and final expedition reward can be claimed on other saves.

no, at the harmony station you can scan for dissonance spikes, these lead to crashed interceptors. all you need to do is repair them, and they're yours

do not sell or use your crystallised heart, or your quad servo when you get them

Resources are more scarce on Switch, on which I’m playing the exp now. Loads of comets in space to shoot on PS5, but on Switch there barely is one.

Hello, I am a noob that has played NMS in the past (2 years ago), completed the main story and somehow aquired one of the big ships... I forgot the name (I could send missions from it). To reach that point it took me a what felt like a very heavy time investment (learning & playing -> Steam says 250 hours). I have not played an Expedition before, and now, when I am thinking of returning, it scares me to restart from Scratch. What would be considered a 'mature the mentality / or approach for this part of the game, or the game in general? Are expeditions aimed at the more invested players? Should one not be 'scared' / bothered of being 'poor' again? Thank you.

everyone starts out with a new save in the expedition, it doesn't really matter
the rewards transfer over to all saves and u can redeem it anytime in the anomaly
current expedition is not hard, just follow the mission steps

there's a couple milestones further along the line that will get you neutron cannon, pfield compressor, and a couple upgrade modules

i would suggest applying mt expansion slots to starter tool, or to a sentinel tool, if you happened to get lucky with the positions of damaged slots, and if they're of easy repair

yeah, just got to be patient with that one - this happened on a lower end pc too, sometimes, especially when sessions were long, or in expedition systems sometimes too. that said, what i usually did in that situation, was to turn around 180 to where i had just come from, fly for a bit, then turn back around again, and look for the already generated terrain, then aim nose down, and land.

yeah melee jetpack is definitely "life changing" in a lot of ways, but when you bring that over with you to other game modes, your main save for example, be sure to either have airburst engine suit tech installed, or always have a little bit of jetpack fuel left just before hitting the ground: fall damage can kill you

My game is crashing when I get close to one of the planets near the first Atlas interface... I've never had the game crash before and it seems to be softlocked now where it freezes and crashes as soon as the game loads.

You could check and disable multiplayer in Settings > Network. If the issue persists, you could even try disconnect internet, which prevents certain MP things loading upon system entry (ie. bases, comm balls)

Which rewards?

Save the game before accepting the reward. Accept one reward. Reload testier point, accept other reward.

I don't know if you can get both helmets on that particular toon, but it unlocks them both for the account.

So, you can access both helmets from the Vendor on other toons.

That's how I got both helmets for my "main toon" anyway. I usually delete the Expedition Saves, once they're completed.

Don't feel bad. When I first started the game, I spent the first few days playing on the starter planet. Didn't realize I already had a ship on the compass to locate and leave the planet. So, I was stuck there until I happened upon a crashed ship and left the planet. Of course, the missions wouldn't advance, because I had to find "my ship." So, after searching online, figured out I needed to go back to that planet and how to locate my actual ship, so the main missions would finally unlock. I had already spent the week exploring that Star system.

I'm just glad they're finally doing an Expedition (Cartographer) this month, that combines the big rewards from the first three Expeditions. I've really been wanting the streamlined jetpack since I started playing this game.

Would be kinda neat if these special reruns gave you a selection from a pool of older expedition runs, instead of hand picked "popular" ones that are subjective. Make it easier to get things you missed out on.

I mean, I AM excited for the Vector, streamlined pack and the Cartographer decal, title, etc. But I have the feasting casque and exotic jetpack already.

• 20% chance that Resonator will be an Echo Locator Resonator.

Approach and aim at the Resonator to see what it will drop when destroyed.

okay so getting the mirror will be fairly easy, especially if you a) can tank a bit of damage, should there be some spiders around b) are dealing a fair bit of damage to the resonator

one approach is to first identify what it will drop, then stepping away, and shooting it from a distance

correct, if you're only trying to get a mirror or a echo locator

no need to clear all the others too

if you've got access to cloaking device, that will be a big help

as they will literally zip past you

have cloak and a echo locator (that will help to find more of the resonators?) omg what a fight
plus i was was confused, the drill was destroyed and the marker showed it to me as i missed something. but i couldnt interact with it (almost got killed trying xd)

echo locator is a consumable that can be used to locate harmonic camps. will not need one to complete the expedition
