i also follow atlas religiously so it was rather easy to choose

Some people may find it a chore but doing the expedition twice for both heads is not so bad. My 2nd run took only ~5hrs.

And I'm a slowpoke so it can probably be done even faster.

sidebar - on Switch, can't leave the planet at the end of the 1st phase to go to the start of the 2nd phase without triggering a crash when I hit orbit. What are the common triggers? Don't have a freighter yet, and I harmonised the Hyline brain I was carrying and stuck it in a ship. Anything else I should be doing/not doing/dumping from my pockets?

I did not get any Construct Head and my expedition is over and converted into a normal save.
I can't select it at the rewards npc either 😦
Is there a way to claim it still? I have the rest of the construct pieces.

Now I go down to the planet and try to place a refiner and ALL of my placeable tech except for the exocraft stuff is GONE, MISSING. I've logged off, come back and try double checking my build options and they are still not showing up. How can I fix this??!

Any way to get crystallized heart easier than by killing spooders? Like, buying or smth. I need one for crafting the final Atlas-something bling. The spooders wreck me, upgrading the weap might take a whole day since I'm still using a mere C rifle...

You cannot buy the crystallized hearts. However, killing spiders becomes significantly easier once the expedition gives you a neutron cannon and some upgrades for it. It basically two shots spiders

Crap - I left the Quad Servo and all my chromatic metal in my "main" ship while flying a Sentinel up to the space station to sell it, but when I did the ship that spawned in the station is the original freebie from the expedition, I can't summon the other one (might have left the launch tanks empty?) and now I can't find where I parked it! Don't have the base computer blueprint yet either. Am I boned?

You can summon any of your ships in the Anomaly .. or in your freighter (if you have one).. doesn´t matter if they are damaged

Ok so I have a question before I go to do a ticket, has anyone else had a problem with the 4th part after creating the legs to walk on, the expidition shows in the lower corner that I need to talk to Nadi again, the Expedition on the expedition log shows I need to talk to atlas and then the expedition Directions when I go to the map takes me to the 5th waypoint, instead of the Atlas?

My expedition was bugging out yesterday and wouldn't let me get a sentinal ship. The hyaline brain and other stuff was missing when encountering a crashed ship. Turning off multi-player and reloading the save seemed to fix it.

You cant do that .. If you want to stay with your Character..Exosuit ..Multitool and Ship you got in exp10 you may proceed with that save on your PS5

All other rewards you can claim in any of your saves

Dont get it .. sorry ... If you finish exp10 it will convert to normal...If now load this save on your PC and at the same time your PS5 and join your PC session you transfer it to your PS5 character ..

Just a tip for those still doing, or planning to do the expedition: I've left free resource bases (each named along the lines of "Free Resources #X (Milestone location name)") with red save and base markers directly under the space stations of the starter system, as well as Rendezvous #1, #2, and #3. Feel free to take what you need, there's literally every plant plus a ton of carbon and at least two natural resources available at each base. Super helpful for getting you money or things you may need to progress milestones, or progress the expedition itself easier/quicker.

I'll be adding a base at Rendezvous #5 shortly, but it's not currently put together.

Yes, right after I got the recipie to make the legs I made them and was starting to look for what I needed to do next and it showed in the lower corner that I needed to talk to Nadi again so I went to the anomaly to talk to Nadi but no option regarding the new part, so I took a look in my expedition log and it said I needed to show Atlas, ok s o I tried following the expedition path in the galaxy map to the next location I even stopped at each planet to check but it ended up taking me to the 5th way point instead of taking me to the atlas. I had marked my path with putting a base in the systems so I had backed tracked a bit to re trace my steps and am thinking of back tracking more to see if I can go back to theprevious atlas and fix the problemthere

I've tried Neutron Cannon as you recommended yesterday and it was awesome. With the basic version and free upgrade (from rewards) it takes exactly two shots to kill a spider even with a С rifle. Expedition complete, thanks to you 😁

Well, I own the game both via Steam and via Xbox Live, both of which I play on PC, so I tend to run every expedition twice. Currently in the middle of running it for the Xbox Live account. Will watch out for this, and try to write down glyphs for you as I progress.

You need to put the first seed into Nadas machine at the anomaly first, then you’ll be prompted to look for other seeds and given the blueprint

It’s like a temporary mini event that lets you unlock items usable on all your saves once the event is over.

However, when I go into the galaxy map, it is still pointing to the 4th pilgrimage apparently, and doesn't allow me to see the path to the next Atlas station, or filter for 'Current Mission' to see where I have to go

So the problem is that I don't know where I have to go to present the constructed leg to the Atlas, as the galaxy map isn't showing me where to go

does anyone know where that Atlas is located?

I found a pilot selling faecium in my run. I used a base uploaded on the teleporter to quickly get to a radioactive planet for gamma root.

I've been a bit stupid guys. Somehow, somewhere I've deleted/lost a Quad Servo... Now I bloody need one for this next party of the expediting and have spent the last 2 hours fighting Sentinels to get one. With no luck at all.

Does everyone get object in use when using a medium refiner at someone else’s base?

Lubricant, Faecium, Gamma Root: || As mentioned above, you get the lubricant blueprint as a milestone reward automaically in phase 3. You need 2 lube and that's a total of 100 Faecium and 800 Gamma Root. This is easier to get than it might seem. Kill any creature and you'll get Mordite. Refine 25 Mordite with Condensed Carbon on your freighter and you'll have your 100 Faecium. You get 200 Gamma Root as a milestone reward as well. Gamma Root refined with Uranium (purchased or mined) can get you the rest of the Root you need. Else you can find and harvest it on any radioactive planet, which you do encounter at the milestone locations.||

personally I liked the gimmicky expeditions most, like leviathan (survival difficulty with roguelike elements such as randomized rewards for weapons and stuff that you need to use), polestar (you start with a freighter and have to rely on it as your only base and your only way to warp), and utopia (the whole thing takes place in one system and has you building multiple bases)

this one I see as more narratively focused and focused on the Interceptor content where you run around doing the milestones as usual without any notable gimmicks/restrictions

I put an effort in that milestone believing that higher number of souls will benefit Hello Games... and now I think they are georestricting or traffic shaping server access for people outside US.

are you playing solo or with friends in a group? regardless, would recommend disabling mp and set can join my group to invite only. then save, return to main menu, and load the save via play game.
after loading in, reselect the milestone that you need to progress, and depending on which one it is, if its objective is in another system, the galaxy map should automatically pick the right Destination at the top. deselecting the current system triggers a small bug which means that the player needs to reselect the correct Destination.

sentience echo was the community research milestone, it got completed long ago. if online discovery services is connected, then selecting the milestone (would also recommend disabling mp, save+reload from main menu, warp to a different system, resummon anomaly) and turning in one more echo. it should automatically complete and allow you to claim the reward.

gamma weed drops gamma root - there's a milestone that gives you prebuilt haz mat gauntlet, another that gives x24 salvaged data, which you could use to unlock a med refiner from the anomaly if needed (gamma+uranium=more gamma)

also, i don't understand why someone considers having to complete milestones further ahead "stupid" or "ridiculous"

it's always been allowed, with some exceptions, to complete milestones out of order

@meager warren As soon as I interacted with the Construct, I b-lined it to the Quicksilver vendor to make sure it was available. Did not claim any expedition rewards. Reloaded and was able to claim the other.

If you need refiners, look directly under the space stations in the starter system, or Rendezvous 1-4. There are fully functional "Free Resources #X (Milestone Location Name)" named bases with red markers there which should work. I left all that open, and 5 grouped refiners on each property.

Also, obviously, there's a bunch of free crap. Take what you need.

Fairly straightforward. A weird step when you get to The Grand Divergence as you have to manually select it, but otherwise just keep what the milestones reward you and don't use them for dumb crap and you'll be fine.

1. sooth the construct
2. make a save
3. insert one of the seeds DO NOT CLAIM EXPED REWARD
4. reload that save
5. insert the other seed

Are the Dissonace Resonators suppose to respawn after you shoot them?

I found a large flat spot in the starting system that has a bunch of them. I took out 4 or 5 locations. The first location had 2. By the time I got back to the ship the location with 2 had respawned.

Tip: If you are playing the expedition and are in need of resources or refiners, look directly under (point towards the middle of the closest planet and pulse!) the space stations in the starter system, or the Rendezvous 1-5 milestone systems.

I left the refiners open, and there are 5 grouped refiners on each property. Also, obviously, there's a bunch of free crap like carbon walls, every single farmable plant, and at least two natural resources at each base. Take what you need, even if just to sell it and make money for other things you need. These bases are there to help in this last leg of the expedition when people with little time or experience need help.

we believe it has to do with players forgetting to change their network settings/can use refiner permissions - or possibly a bug with uploaded bases (it would be a bug i guess, since that sorta defeats the purpose of sharing bases with other players to help them)

No. Only the main rewards from phases and completing the expedition are cross-save.

When you complete the expedition, the save converts to Normal mode, and you may continue playing in that save if you'd like though...

Just did this now on Switch and the pinned instructions are spot on - Have both the Atlantid Reactor and the Seed of Hope in you Exosuit inventory, so you don't end up wasting too much time in between options and accidentally autosaving. And maybe pick your favourite head first in case it goes pearshaped.

But otherwise do as the pin says - soothe the construct if you haven't already, save the game by hopping into and out of your ship, maybe note the time at this point, then give it one of the 2 items, get the musical stings for completing the last 2 objectives and the expedition, hit + and go to Options, and look for the REstore Point / Autosave with the time you noted earlier. Reload and give it the other item. After the music fades, check with the Quicksilver merchant that you can claim both heads.

If you do pull both, and you are of a delicate disposition, after you confirm that both heads are visible on the Quicksilver merchant and you then claim your Phase and Expedition rewards from the Expedition page, just bear in mind that this claims the rewards for this save, so when you look at the Quicksilver merchant just to be absolutely sure you haven't screwed up, you'll only see one head (the first one you unlocked and therefore didn't claim the Phase goal reward for) and may be tempted to crap yourself. Don't! Scroll down, the other head is listed at the bottom as claimed for this save. Phew! Underpants saved.

But it was a near thing, let me tell you....

They are, if you claim them both or don't claim either. I didn't claim from the QS guy, I just clicked on the badges in the expedition page to get my rewards and that marks the head you most recently unlocked as claimed. So that splits them up. But for a second there I thought I'd screwed the pooch....

If you're on Switch, I had that after picking up an echo locator (might have that name wrong), every time you hit orbit it tries to push itself to the front of the quest queue. As you approach orbit aim at something and start trying to Pulse. I found pulsing from low orbit got me past the problem. My freighter crashes my main save, apparently. Send it away! And then.... well I haven't figured out the next step but it's probably tear it apart and build a smaller freighter base. If you're crashing approaching the 5th planet because of all the flipping bases on it, just try to aim at a less densely populated part of the planet and land - once you're down you can fly around to the rendezvous point in-atmosphere. It's not great but it got me past the crash.
(I'm assuming there can't be may X Box players called "SmashBro Link" 🙂 )

If you haven't installed the update from last week, cash that locator in, grab another ship and flog it - they're worth 40 million minimum in parts before the 4.34 patch from last thursday (didn't think to cash one in after but I heard it was nerfed on other platforms the week before)

Of course, 40 million units you can't spend 'cause the game keeps crashing is probably not worth it 😄

to start and end the expedition, you'll still have to connect to the server. so i'm assuming things can get buggy if you do that to bypass those two parts of the process, especially if you'd be concerned about the rewards not being cross-save as a result. but i've never tried it. maybe someone like @native bloom could help us confirm.

do note that if you're on PC, you can use a save editor or game mods to do the expeditions or to just get the rewards. which you can inquire about more in our #nms-modding channel

i'm really hoping that HG is able to get another update to Switch with enough time before the expedition ends. because you're not the only one i've seen reports from about crashes on Switch, since the latest update. and apparently said crashes are worst in the expedition, which i assume would be greatly affected by having rendezvous points with loads of bases from other players.

ooh, you totally still have enough time to do it then. i saw a report of a speed run being just under an hour iirc. for most other players, the time for this one should match what it is for most past expeditions. and there are still about 8 days left before the event* ends
