Autosaves can and often are a saving grace, I'll give it that. But they're far from ideal to save progress before logging out. They're just not often or reliable enough across all games. If you can manually save then always do that

On a dissonance planet shoot the dissonance drill things that normally drop needles, til one drops a echo locator. Or you can stumble upon a camp by chance.
The locator is guaranteed to lead you to a harmonic camp, but its also not guaranteed to drop. May as well check out the gun and ship while you're there too.

like they changed the system ship as far as I can tell, from what it was a few years ago, now we have named ship parts in the memory
and those parts dont appear if you change the main cockpit type via save edit
