got a weird bug, started my NMS expedition saves, it says the expedition is over

and it shows no current expedition on mode select

Honestly, if a community goal HAD to be mandatory in a future Expedition. I think it would be better if the Expedition itself was based around it. Like, you're always working to the community goal throughout the whole thing.

So even players who just started the Expedition are still helping the overall numbers. That's how I think this mandatory goal could be changed to flow better, might be a fun idea!

If you're referring to regular questlines like what you do in non-Expedition saves, you don't gain access to them till the Expedition save converts to Normal mode (when it's completed or when the event ends). I'm not sure about the base building overseer stuff. I assume you can get various blueprints to start building in that save if that's what you're after.

Hello Games has not commented on server connectivity issues which were being reported about 21 hours ago (which were after work hours for them). Some folks have made reports. But we're unclear when staff will see said reports.

Pertaining the expedition progress, it's part of this expedition's requirement. It isn't a new concept as we had a past expedition that had a similar requirement with overall community contributions. No one needs to panic about this matter to be honest. If Hello Games sees an issue with the progression, they're more than capable to make adjustments on their end to make up for whatever progress has been lost due to connectivity issues.

My recommendation for folks who have issues with this mechanic is to submit a proper suggestion to HG via their Zendesk website. I'll share a link below (which you guys can always get by running the !hg or !hellogames commands in #bot-spam)

If you feel annoyed by said mechanic, as I said above, submit a proper suggestion to HG via their Zendesk website. It's the most effective way to proactively take some form of action. Then maybe take a break until the server issues have been resolved. Venting the frustrations here just gets you all more worked up on a matter that won't go anywhere outside this channel. Just ruins your enjoyment of the game. Patience can do everyone some good in all aspects of life. I recommend it.

We don't have to get into details on the whys and hows in this channel. If you've voiced your opinion to HG, then good. Maybe you can try another game mode in the meantime. Try other questlines or game objectives you haven't tried. I'm sure you'll figure things out when you get back. I do recommend some note-taking though. And set an alarm with reminders. They're other invaluable tools for life in general, in addition to patience.

About the expedition, at phase 5 part 10, should I get one seed for every rendezvous or it can be any dissonant?

I tried getting more at the last rendezvous but the scanner simply doesn't point me to any place

Any planet that is marked Dissonance or something like that. I used rendevous 5 planet To get Echos

You just have to run around and look on scanner for a mark similar to the Radiant Shards but with an exclamation mark

Hi. I am trying to complete the Prayer III milestone in Phase 3. I have the quest selected on the expedition tab and on the log tab.

The specific instructions are: "Present construct to Atlas - when in space, access galaxy map and follow mission path to locate atlas interface. use 'a' to engage hyperdrive."

I fucked around for a bit and did some resource gathering and then I went to the galaxy map, followed the green line, and ended up in the system for Rendezvou 4--but no atlas, and no marker for the rendezvou 4 location either.

I'm playing on xbox. I have disabled multiplayer, restarted my entire system, reloaded a previous save point, gone back and forth along the path multipe times, tried randomly using pulse drive for a few minutes to see if that summoned it, etc. The quest is selected still. I even tried getting coordinates from Polo but that didn't do anything--it gave me the option, I selected it, then the dialogue closed and there was no quest marker anywhere.

I posted this originally in the nms-help thread, which is why I've tried a few different suggestions--then someone suggested I try here to see if anyone has run into the same problem.

@charred fractal Yes, it started. Sadly, HG servers are having technical difficulties over the weekend. And since it's the weekend, we're not sure if someone can get to it before Monday GMT. I heard that one workaround for being unable to start a new Expedition save, is to try joining another player who has an Expedition save already. The game apparently will force you to create the Expedition save, and it may work that way. I haven't verified this workaround personally. But I figured I'd pass the word along.
