ok, a second option then is, and you'll not like this either: gather materials for a new base computer right there and put down another base. it will take time and be a chore

for the cooking one, the game should give you step by step instructions on the recipe

i had never use nutrient thingy, but that health boost from processed beans is like 25% health. that's pretty nice. if I had known that, I'd saved them

if it does not: cactus flesh -> cactus nectar -> processed sugar; then flesshy rope -> gelatinous membrane; then larval core + gelatinous membrane -> nightmare sausage; then processed sugar + nightmare sausage for the final product

you need only one of each starting item to make it happen.

for at least one player they didn't get the hints even when switching to another mission and switching back

so doing the 'cleanse the site' first and the tendrils first before cooking (the immediate next two milestones) is best.

so you get the ingredients that way.

lastly you can do the 'cleanse the site' (it is go to a specific abandoned building, you will be given coords) and shoot greenies) on any planet, so choose one you like

that's all I got, should be pretty straightforward

Is anyone else having trouble locating titan worm burrows for phase 4 of the expedition? I've been flying around and looking for one for ages and I can't find any, it doesn't help that the planet is filled with mountains, anyone know what I should do?

Alright this is bugged in VR, the VR teleportation clips you through the volcano model and then they are removed. It worked by using jetpack only

Sentinels were on me the second (literally) I got out of my ship on the 3rd planet. I figured it would only be possible to get to my grave if I died in space so I took off and let the interceptors kill me. When I log back in I will be outside my ship on the planet, right? So sentinels will be on me before I can get off the ground and to my grave right? So what do I do?

I just finished planet 3, i found that finding the plants was the hardest part of that, make sure you know which direction the water is from your base camp, do a fly over before setting up camp

Nice! It's an even halfway..but honestly it's harder at the beginning since your gonna be grinding for resources. Once I got to 3rd planet I didn't have to look for resources anymore. Also remember trade stations have terminals if you want to buy stuff. I found lauch fuel and chromatic metal at one and that was amazingly useful!

Launch fuel is pretty easy for me, thankfully. Chromatic metas is where things fall apart for me. Copper grind is real.

Usually Uploaded bases show up as Purple. So if you see a purple base icon on the planet and.ot matches the name of mine, just head straight there

Yeah, been scanning things, selecting and unselecting. I did the rest hoping something would flip it. Don't tell me the programmers used SCANNED==8 instead of SCANNED>=8 and at some point I scanned two things before it could run the check. I have no idea how this happened.

afaik, it shouldn't have mattered - scans should complete the milestone even if it's not active, but there have been cases (in past exps) where this isn't always true/tended to bug out

That sounds frustrating. Hopefully they can patch that soon if you raise awareness about the bug. At least there's still plenty of time before the expedition event ends. Make sure to include your save file if on PC, or if on console, give them permission to access your save file, in case they need to investigate it further. Along with screenshots for reference.

@amber bluff I have no idea why you do not have your crash logs there. That is the default location, and I have my crash logs from trying to enter a derelict ship. So this may be a more difficult crash for Hello Games to fix.

Dig a cave or tunnel, put the base computer in there and put 14 wall light on the walls, and scrap the lights after you uploaded the base for the milestone.
On planet #3, the terrain manipulator is your best friend 😂

Just finished my first expedition. Still a newb with 44 hrs on main game. Total for me was 12 hours (8 for 1,2,3 and 4 for 4,5). I didn't rush it and spend a lot of time mining copper since I didn't break up my old bases and built teleports in each. I also used tunnel strategy on 2 planets which isn't fast.

they give you a bunch of upgrades as well, i made it through my entire expedition without killing any sentinels, planet 4 was the toughest combat for me and that wasn't that hard. i play on "normal" regular game and aren't much into combat

tunnel under ground to your destination, takes longer, but you have infinite mining resources to keep mining going and they won't attack you. also mark the tunnel exit with your visor so you can find it to return back

just be careful to exit like 20u before you get to a surface resource (like plants, pearls, etc.) so you don't accidently blow them up

Also, in phase 4 on the "clear building" task, just note that it's "interior" and you don't need to clear the 'exterior'. I started on exterior and then realized it was taking forever and just went inside and it finished

there is at least one exosuit shield upgrade you can buy from the utopia exosuit station btw, if you have the nanites (it's a blueprint so you need the mats to install it of course)

any actual building (observatory, minor settlement, abandoned building, etc) on any of these worlds will have whispering eggs around it, since it's an abandoned system

Well that was fun. Not my favorite expedition but a fine adventure. I think they went a little overboard in making things "hard" in the slow grindy way vs the big objective way but I like the creative twist each time. I also would have really liked appearance modification so I didn't have to go the whole expedition as the same goofy looking gek I start with every expedition forever. 🙂

I'll likely play through it two more times... one on the Quest 2 and then a casual playthrough in the evenings on the Steam Deck. Such a great content model. I wish, once completed, a selection of expeditions was always available as a new save option.

Right, it's not a small amount but one copper deposit and ferrite which is everywhere will get you a base comp.

Yes, bunch of times. Moved it from external hard drive to console storage. Last step I'm thinking is uninstall and download again. Have some bugs on my main save freighter as well. The trade room no longer works, and the refiner deletes items when I exit it

yes, i've seen bug reports about crashing. we're currently tracking reported bugs (which we still recommend submitting to HG ofc) in this thread: #1078205884695597056. We have pinned a compilation of known bugs there. And at least for one of the crashes, there's a known patch that's currently in Steam's Experimental branch (so beta), which hopefully will make it to the Public branch soon'ish (although being that it's the weekend now, we may have to wait till Monday).
Experimental patch notes include:

Fixed a crash entering Abandoned Freighters.

completing and claiming every milestone in exp9 converts the save now, to a normal game mode save. you will still have access to the bases you've built.

That shouldn't matter. You just can't name it. If it said unidentified before scanning, then once you scan it, you should get credit. If it's already identified before scanning, that means you scanned it already. If it's not working like that, it's a bug.

nothing to panic about. if you manage to get away before they complete their scan of you, like quickly melee jetpcking away, they will quickly enter "?" mode again. maintain a sentinel within 200u of your current position, unaware of you, and the game won't spawn more to surprise you

iirc planet3 also has water. remember that there's underwater flora as well

they're fairly easy to spot from the sky too - though remember, if you can, prefer to land near buildings: usually a landing spot, that will make your next launch free. or if you can't, be sure to have launch fuel in the ship.
