• Game Mode Explained: Expeditions are an alternate time-limited, season-like game mode with a set of challenges rewarding exclusive items that can be claimed in any and all of your saves, in any game mode account-wide. When you finish the expedition you may convert your save to a pre-determined game mode -- most expeditions convert to Normal, with the exception of Expedition 7 which converted to Survival. At the end of the event, the game forces the conversion.

• ⚠️ You must start your save at least 48 hours before the event ends. Give yourself ample time for completing an expedition.

• Save often: Auto-save with starship, manual save with save points. Keep manual and auto saves synchronized.

• Save before claiming a reward, in case the reward glitches. Save after receiving the reward, in case the game crashes after.

• Don't hoard stuff early on. Exosuit storage is not abundant when you start out. Before you can upgrade storage, only keep items for active quests or what you need for survival (e.g., oxygen or life support gel, sodium or sodium nitrate for hazard protection). Tried quite a few things… like deleting my save, starting new ones, restarting the game, etc

Actually, I was able to get a new freighter one time out of the 10-15 times I tried restarting in various ways… so I guess it’s possible but not very consistent at all

but you can also use the scanner of exocraft iirc

the mechanism for a crashed ship is the same as a crashed freighter, but the 'right' destination is different. otherwise that pin is actually ok 😄

just make sure you don't land and clear the one that has the npc standing by it, that's one of the 'wrong' ones

If you find a crashed ship, claim it, fly to the anomaly with your regular ship, swap to your busted one, teleport to a station.

You get the cheevo for fixing the ship. You can also scrap it.

You can try collecting navigational data and searching for crashed ships to scrap or find an extreme planet yielding storm crystals for units

If you have zero units, then you are trying to skip too many things.

Go on a planet, scrounge around a bit. If you really need gold, there's always asteroid mining.
