Alright. Find a 3 star that you want to check, put a waypoint on it, and then warp four times to random systems before going to the 3 star one. Make an autosave in each system, and while you're at it, you might as well get the two exosuit slot upgrades in each system.

Then you locate a monolith, solve the riddle, then interact/give it a gift.
Then it will tell you.

No it’s that when you reload it’ll send different ships in which means that one time first wave has a hauler and a fighter but you reload and it have a hauler and an exotic it’s still random you just don’t need to wait between waves I guess

Depends on your playstyle, but exotic ships tend to be the best... and also very rare. Nearly anything S rank is going to be quite good.

mostly personal preference, every ship can be upgraded, some may have slightly better stats in a given category based on type but generally the differences are negligible

I don't even think exotics are necessarily the best, they are well rounded but an upgraded solar will have more speed and maneuverability, a fighter will deal more damage, a hauler will have more storage and better shielding, explorers more hyperdrive range, a shuttle... well, shuttles exist. but you're ultimately talking about a +/- 10% difference in stats at most between types and good upgrade module rolls can close those gaps

tldr: pick something you think looks cool and suits your playstyle and just upgrade it, you'll still defeat any enemies you encounter and look good doing it

very important you complete that step, MT type varies depending on which planet you load on. most mt coordinate posts will tell you which location to reload on to secure a certain model. the sale terminal will always be the same class but MT type varies based on location you load in on if that makes sense

Not quite. Assuming it's not a crashed ship, you'll get it from a space station or trade outpost etc. I recommend trade outpost.
Land at the outpost, wait for a wave or two of ships to land, and if you don't get what you want, leave the planet and then come back to the outpost. Placing a save beacon at the outpost will help you find it again.

Land at the outpost, wait for the npc ships to land, if the one you want isn't there or is in a lower class than you want, leave the planet and land back at the outpost. Placing a save beacon will help you find the outpost again.

There is no difference between station or trading post in that regard.
Trading posts have more pads and tend to have more ships.
You can reload using a save beacon at a trade post.
Another benefit is you can land on the ground to free up one more pad.

Also, it says that's a pirate system. Those have lots of designs of solar ships

I pick trading outposts cause it takes faster for the 5 ships to land on them than for the 1st wave to land on the space station

When the ships are flying around a trading outpost, you can see the models

If you don't find the one you want, you can reload the save

On space station you have to wait till the ships land, they all come through the same tunnel so you can't look at them as they fly in

Also, the lighting in outlaw station is terrible

You can't be sure what's the color of the ship unless you open the trading window

Personal opinion: for early game, go with whatever works for you and whatever you can afford

If you see a new ship, think it will be beneficial to you and you have the resourced to get it - go for it

Or you can fly the Radiant Pillar till you get a proper amount of money and nanites and then go hunting for a new ship

Hell, some players keep the RP all the way till the end game just because they can
