Frigates tend to level up quickly; I only chose frigates that were C-class and had all positives - rarely any negatives. They've developed into some truly amazing vessels at S-class!

yes, seen many exotics in outlaw systems, they have their own varying spawn rates we can't easily identify yet

That's because they have a considerably lower chance of spawning than every other ship type. It's like that in every system.

And that is so painful. I also have had the experience where I come out of the back room and watch one fly off. And once where I flew out of my freighter just as one flew in, and I couldn't get to it in time when I flew back. But then you actually get your hands on one and it's great.

the support frigate trick only works on highly upgraded freighters, so you need s class + upgrades to make it work properly

the white paint is slightly brighter and the other paints are duller versions of the natural

i really like they added paints but that the natural colours are still unique

I’ve always loved the idea of a larger ship you could crew with a friend. These ships would be somewhere between the size of a starship and a frigate. One player may choose to pilot the ship while the other could man the guns or just chill out in a passenger seat or do other tasks aboard the ship. I think this would allow players to travel and explore together even better as you can travel across a system or to another system while sitting in the same ship! This is technically possible with freighters, though you cannot actually pilot them, bring them into combat, or land on planets with them.

Perhaps there could be a hangar where up to two ships could be parked, or a way to dock it at stations or freighters.
As it uses more freighter/frigate tech, it may have entirely different weapons than starships, or at least some different ones and/or variations of those that already exist.

2 for 6 but one came in second wave instead. I think it's just the high prevalence of S-Class ships, but it's common enough it may as well be considered a first wave spawn.

4 for 9, but another second waver, so 6+ (since I didn't wait for second wave a few times). Pretty consistent.

Got myself this gold (green chrome), dark grey and orange accented little raza fighter today.

Little context though cause I think this is more interesting than the ship. It was found pre-Outlaws update by Postman Tom, but it was all black and grey with no gold (Ill post pic). The system had no Trading posts and it wasnt a 1st spawn at the station. The problem is is the station only has 1 spawn and then no ships show up. We tried freighter spawns aswell with no luck. After 2 hours of searching crashed ships we hadnt found all 7 fighters in that system, we still had 2 left so we had a chance. Towards the end of the 2 hours we found our first Solarship crash. As I landed at it I crashed and reloaded in the Space station (My last save). The ships that come into the first wave are 3 solar ships we have NEVER seen before in the hours we where hunting, and the little Raza came right after those 3. Completely broke the list of ships we made out of the possible 21 in our system. We have no clue how it happened or why, we failed to replicate it after a bit of messing around and overall are really confused by the whole ordeal. In the end we got the ship but we are all REALLY confused by the whole thing. Little story for a little ship lol

Something interesting I've noticed: the Maneuverability stat appears to be fixed for each model, whether or not you upgrade via nanites (for which all stats are fixed) or it spawns as a natural S Class.

Every single one of the squids I've purchased on the just-about-first-wave one recently posted has had a core maneuverability of 441.8 after purchase.

Every solar ship that I've upgraded to S Class and have seen spawn naturally in S has also had the same maneuverability. The other stats vary as expected if spawned.

If that's all true, then maneuverability is perhaps the most important stat to note when looking for ships, as the others can all be gamed by waiting for a good seed to spawn.

The starting storage really doesn't matter. I know it seems like it does, but if you scrap some ships for nanites you will quickly accumulate more Storage Augmentations than you know what to do with.

Sails help with pulse efficiency, but once you install all of the standard upgrades and 3 x S-Class modules, you're doing pretty well anyway, so 🤷

Also, go to a trading post if you haven't already, land anywhere but the landing pads, and throw down a Save Beacon. Watch 1-2 waves then reload, over and over, and soon enough you'll have this ship in A or S class guaranteed.

Nope, works in every system type.

Although dead planets / uninhabited systems can give you empty trading posts, so it doesn't work in those, but economy doesn't matter for that technique other than it perhaps taking slightly longer in T1.

S class ships do not appear in one star economy systems AFAIK. And they are about half as likely in 2 star than in 3.

yeah I think so, but like I said I found it online so I'm not 100% sure. I just searched red and chrome hotrod nms and found it after a couple minutes, gonna hunt it down on my normal save once I unlock glyphs

Sadly a story with no ending. We still have no clue why it did that. Completely broke the rules of the game unless we did our tracking wrong. One thing we know it broke is the ship spawning during first spawn despite not being a first spawn ship

In Outlaw systems, Solars can be drawn from the Explorer, Fighter, Hauler, and Shuttle pools, but there seems to be some minimum amount (perhaps 3-5) drawn from the Shuttle pool.

Scrapping ships with the desired parts is the best implementation of this, otherwise you lose a huge chunk of the gams searching out cool ships. Id would also be sweet being able to get different colored parts and have a funky ship

Fighters don't tend to be more than a few mil, unless they are the large fighter variant. Explorers and solars too. Haulers though ..

@ornate marsh after looking at the n1, yeah it was pretty similar, i like having the round engines on sides, and it of course had dumb rectangle sails, even had the nice dark blue color

according to this, I really wanted raven/jackal body, crescent sails (blue preferably depending on body color), wings i like having double blade or similar, and torpedo tips, thats the kind of solar ship i want if anyone has something like it

ive been looking across 3 days now about 10 hours total jumping outlaw station to station, i found one very close to what i like but it was C class and rectangle sails

And class also influences max inventory size and starting size

Anyone an expert in living ships? I may have messed up on one. Cant get it to spawn anymore on my main save. I paid the nanites for it when it originally spawned but counldnt interact to claim it. I recomend trading posts

part your ship somewhere on the ground nearby to maximize the slots the ships coming in will land on

and keep reloading until u find the one you want

yes, reloading works regardless of system. Go back to your most recent autosave after you game is saved when u exit your ship

I would actually recommend parking your ship on the trading post come to think of it given that you can just respawn there when you load up again

All systems have the potential to have a solar ship. Very rarely will a regular system have none, and in outlaw systems there are more solar ships and less shuttles
