They also seem to get a significant reduction to hyperdrive fuel costs, though I haven't tested that extensively.

Also, when a ship spawns in S class, its stats will be randomized, vs if you upgrade to S with nanites, the stats are fixed based on the ship model.

So you could end up with a significantly better or worse ship.

Stats as in base damage, shields, hyperdrive range, and maneuverability.

T3 is based on the economy - get an economy scanner or lookup the economy adjectives on the wiki.

Economy Scanner is an installable ship upgrade, in case you didn't know.

Oh, you misunderstand - I'm not in it for the units, no shortage of those.

But it could be interesting to catalog which haulers give AI Valves when scrapped.

if it's a 120mil freighter you'll probably score 2

those are really rare though

especially since latest update, I see far fewer loaded high class haulers, might just be my luck and systems I'm visiting though

I haven't had much time for ship hunting yet, I'm curious how distributions may have changed.

As far as I can tell, regular systems each have all the ships they did previously plus a single Solar ship.

Outlaw systems have whatever they did before but all Shuttles are replaced with Solars.

That's my current theory, at least.

I think some Outlaw systems have 7 solars + 1 shuttle, and some have 7+1 solars.

Yeah, I've seen 1 exotic each in several outlaw systems.

I was sure there were 8 solars per outlaw system but the last one I was in I waited a long time and never found more than 7, but did find 1 shuttle which I hadn't seen before in an outlaw system.

I suspect there will always be at minimum 1 Shuttle and 2 each of the other 3 types, so far nothing I've seen or read contradicts those numbers - any time someone has said there's no Shuttle, they haven't been able to say they found 20 other non-Exotics there.

Bit of advice for the future - don't get malaria. And if you ignore that and get malaria anyway, don't treat it with high doses of mefloquine. Saved my life but absolutely fucked me up.

In my experience, the harder it is to spawn, the more lackluster it turns out to be - but I don't think that's factual, just how it always feels, lol

My theory is that the systems have the same spawn pools as before +1, where the +1 is a Solar for non-outlaw systems and in outlaw systems the Shuttles are all Solars and the +1 can be either a Solar or a Shuttle, and possibly any type of ship.

E.g. Vykeen Outlaw system:
7 Solars
7 Fighters
3 Haulers
3 Explorers
1 Exotic
1 TBD, either Solar or Shuttle

I've seen systems with 8 Solars and no shuttles, and some with 7 Solars + 1 Shuttle

Not saying they absolutely do not have a shuttle as I didn't count the rest in most of the systems. Going to have to go back and do my due diligence on those.

I know some people like the way they look, but I'd actually be okay with that.

I feel like solars have taken over the role shuttles could have filled, that being efficiently and quickly flying around in system space.

Another option would be to make them the bargain bin of ships: maybe reduce their maximum inventory slots across the board but make them super cheap to upgrade, both storage and class.

I believe it can take all of the shuttle spots. I documented a Vykeen Outlaw system with 1 exotic, 6 fighters, 3 haulers, 2 explorers, and 10 solars, although one of them I couldn't find again today to confirm 100%.

As a member of the corvus family 😀 , since the update I've been searching for a ship to match my "wings" :). If anyone finds a Solar Ship with Raven body, Grapple wings, Horza tips and Hex sails, let me know so I can fly it all over the galaxy. Color is hard. After the patch, all new ships that I've looked at have a maximum of either 7 or 14 high density cargo slots. The technology slot maximum also seems to be limited to 7, but it may also be 7 or 14. I've seen full regular cargo slots (48), but the others seem to be bugged. I've looked through at least 50 ships. Is anyone else seeing this?

I'm 99% sure the physical size of the ship doesn't matter - you should be able to upgrade any Hauler-type ship to the maximum cargo capacity.

Then wait to see if there are any purple haulers

So find a Gek system with purple ships for maximum chances.

Pretty good. I've seen Solars with base DPS up to around 216, whereas Fighters go up to like 235 or so.

Throw some S-class upgrades on there and you'll hardly be able to tell the difference. Probably. 😛

I didn't upgrade, just found the s-class which usually results in better stats

If you look at the ship with your visor it gives you the base values.

Whenever I find an S class ship, it typically has 1-2 stats that are worse than if I upgraded it. I only seem to get lucky with ships I don't actually want... lol.

Ship spawns are determined randomly, but each star system has a pool of ships that spawn there consistently.

Focus more on finding the design you like. Storage and class can be upgraded

And any ship, not just haulers, can have 48 main storage and 21 tech if s class.

The new cargo slots they say haulers do get more of that

All ships are useful. Those that have lower storage or class can be upgraded. Or if you wait long enough a better one will spawn there.

You can use the in game photomode in that system, at the bottom left there are glyphs - you may need to hide the menu a couple times for them to popup

You have found the model for that system, it can spawn and land anywhere other ships can - it just has a much lower chance to do so

The reward for one of the milestones is the set of all 16 glyphs

Granted it's one of the later milestones, but completing the expedition will be faster

The drawback is you'll have to stay on the expedition save

Yesterday I found a nice ship. I don't personnally like it because it's banner sails, but I still got it because it was a model I like nonetheless. It will go for my squadron. Shuttles are super cheap and can be a decent first new ship. Exotics are also cheap - but their inventory is very small before upgrading.
