I spent probably an hour getting in my ship because the cockpit kept getting buried in the ground. I couldn't relocate it and I couldn't dig it out. I called another ship in and went to the space station so I could get in the ship.

I just built the most basic crappiest corvette ever lol. But it's functional. I'm using it to gather parts to build a better one. I found out that if you go to a planet with salvageable scrap and exit the pilot seat to walk around you can access your visor and tag salvage sites without having to ever land, then just destroy them from the air. Initially I was landing to search for them. Man I wasted so much fuel lol

Speed has a pretty low cap, you’ll more than likely hit that even with basic modules

you build the ship with the parts needed (reactor/landing pad/weapons/etc), finish the ship then go to the next crafting bay and start a new ship, move the camera to the back until you see the old ship and you will be able to delete the unwanted parts without triggering the missing parts warning

It means, 'Do you wanna make the base on the new ship match the one you already have, or keep the randomly generated base structures the ship came with?'

I prefer to keep the randomly generated structures bc then I can take back the materials I built the old one with before buying the new ship, and then yoink the materials from the new one, and build a bigger, nicer base than either of them had as a result.

You could use portal glyphs to go find ones that other players have documented (places like https://nmsce.com/, https://www.reddit.com/r/NMSCoordinateExchange/, etc). Exotic ships have some of the least variation out of any of the ship types thankfully

Its a nice living ship. Comes out of the box with nice tech, too. Problem is the storage is very very limited and it takes an enormous amount of time/currency investment to fix that. That time investment is even worse for living ships than it is for normal ones.

I end up using it more like a sports car than a daily vehicle. Take it to the Anomaly with me to feel cool in my nice ship, but otherwise, I need more space than that for regular activities.

They like to show up in rich systems the most. They truly are just EVERYWHERE. Getting one is a matter of patience, not manual effort. The patience to wait for one, and then the patience to wait for the one you actually want.

They are also always S class. Outlaw systems have the highest rate for S classes, so look for rich and outlaw systems, and then just sit tight. You'll find one organically in no time. If you don't like the design, try another system.

Very cool, but I am pretty sure they are the single RAREST obtainable ship type in the game which is not an expedition reward, or that one ship that you could buy for 20$ that one time which might never be sold again. Be prepared to either grind for an inordinate amount of time, or give into the urge to yoink coords from someone's social media or discord post.

Squid ships are a type of exotic ship meaning there’s one model per system, each system has a 1/25 chance for its exotic model to be a squid, exotic ships have a 1/301 chance to spawn at any point in a system

Sentinels still remain top dog for space travel. Far cheaper fuel as you can use radiant shards. Even corvettes have to use regular fuel

If you're looking specifically for S-class ships, your best bet for finding them is in Pirate-controlled systems - Solar Ships naturally appear most frequently in pirate systems, but it's otherwise Vy'keen for Fighters, Gek for Haulers, and Korvax for Explorers.

Unfortunate, they have done this with base building before where they forbid players from placing down a base computer but they did lift restrictions at the end of the expedition once the final reward was claimed. Looks like you'll have to wait for the next expedition, even a redux would do, doesn't have to be a new expedition and they will probably do a few redux expeditions at the end of the year if nothing else before.

Exotic/Sentinel are by far the top 2 performers for general use though, Solar being 3rd imo

For anyone here who needs S-Class upgrades for your freighter but hasn't had any luck finding a good derelict to farm them I have one for you. The Rendevous 5 star system of the current expedition has a derelict that is risk free minus a few green jellyfish and the cold temps. It is stuffed full of loot crates too and drops S-Class upgrades. Picture with system glyphs and video of me pulling the S-Class module to follow momentarily
