Came back to my old savefile, found this badboy, looks like the one im using in my new savefile, the thing that catches mi attention its that it has the same name

when i inspect it has blessing as name, but when i look it on the menu has shard as name, whyu

The name when you view it with your camera is the name generated by the crash site, but the name in the inventory and ship screen is the correct name for that ship design

If you save and reload or go to a different system, the correct name will be applied in all places

It's a very old and weird bug

No, it is a flat cost, dependent on difficulty options.

On normal mode it is 10,000 Nanites

Higher or lower Purchases difficulty options will change the cost I believe

just go get another egg, then pulse to space then a mission will start the hatching, then it will marked a crashed living ship for you, go the the marked site, if you accept the living ship you will need to pay N10,000, but if you dont like the design you can just reject it, and you will have the egg back

you need to purchase a Void Egg from the quicksilver merchant on Space Anomaly for 3,200 Quicksilver and then pulse on space until you get starbirth quest, complete the Starbirth quest. the quest will last for 4 to 5 days.

No! Messing with your system clock has the potential to break every single thing that relies on a real timer. Settlements, frigate missions, farms, mines, freighter battles and time gates such as the Starbirth Quest. Just don't do it.

So question thinking about the types of Sentinel ships; are they designed for specific functions, like a sentinel hauler, fighter, explorer, etc.

I was just thinking looking at some of the sentinel ships I've found, there design does seem to lean visually and stats wise to a specific profession. All a theory for now, but interested what others think

im trying to get a sentinel ship with SC layout that i wish, and i noticed some strange things:

• the first ship i found and lvled up from C to S and had name "Fire-3-F78" and had bad layout and core stats(via visor) 260 dmg and 260 maneuverability (at an S rank) which as far as i understand is not good
  but then what is interesting
• next ships on the same planet had different names (before i clammed it), but after i upgrade it to S, it change its name to the same as the first one "Fire-3-F78", and its core stat's also become 260 dmg and 260 maneuvr , even so it was an A before and had core 290 and maneuvr 230

so, can someone clarify, is it suppose to be like that? do all ships from the same planet will have same core stats when upgraded to an S class and the same name (even though before taking them, name would be different)?

The name thing is normal, the first name is the name of the crash site, but the name in the inventory screen and the ship screen is the actual name of that ship design

The correct, actual name will be displayed everywhere upon saving and reloading after the ship is claimed

if you want to hunt a A or S class i recommend using a echo locator, so you can use the camp to reveal many many crashed sentinel sites

That is all correct, you can avoid a battle triggering from initially warping away by using your own freighter to warp, or by warping to an uncharted system (no race icon)

i would recommend after getting through the portal to the target system to warp to another one and warp 5 times to trigger the freighter battle, you should save at every system you go, after the battle spawns, you reload and go to the system you portaled to

you jump out of the ship, scan it and then load the autosave, that ensures you load right before the battle, some times it despawns and fucks up the cycle, in that case you have to wait or try loading the restore point and hope it sends you back in time to the system before you warped in.

@dreamy crypt i'm sort of "semi into" so was wandering is the difference at max modules are too noticeable, or is it just 20-40 dmg. And does modules multiply core stats or just add stats? for example 300 core stats + 1000 = 1300, and 250 core + 1000 = 1250, so the end difference would be just 50, or is core stats * module stats (300 * 1000) etc

Diffrence can be noticable but it does not mater much. U can slap whatever S module on whatever ship type and u will be OP vs everything that game can throw at u.

Minmaxing is mostly for flexing with big numbers.

You can find them crash-landed on most dissonant worlds, you can find dissonant worlds by looking for star systems with the "Dissonant" tag.
To find a crash site you could locate Dissonance Resonators across the planet's surface until you find one that drops an Echo Locator, use that to locate a Harmonic Camp then lift the seal of the Harmonic Camp to be able to locate "Dissonance Spikes" which are crashed Sentinel Interceptor ships. You can also locate crashed Sentinel ships by defeating the final wave of the Corrupted Sentinels found on the dissonant world, which instantly pings a crash site.

The decals will be random yes (but deterministic based on which parts you use at which station along with the class you make it at etc), but you could eventually through trial and error find a space station that makes one with that decal

It is indeed in a "shadow star" system, which is a system that can't be reached with portal travel due to a small bug where portals don't like the final star in a region's list and assume it to be wrong. Here are corrected coordinates to the closest system, and instructions on where exactly to warp to once reaching there.

Why is it, that when I find a Sentinel ship, once I get in the ship, the name of the ship changes and the stats even change?

The initial name is the name that the crash site generates which isn't supposed to show, but the name in the claimed inventory screen and the first person console is the actual name of that ship design, which then gets put onto all views after saving and reloading after owning the ship

The stats changing are just because the stats aren't very consistently shown until you own the ship already and look in the menu, a problem mainly with analysis visor readings not being that trustworthy

But once I hit the button to inspect the ship, it tells me the name and the stats. That would be my decision there. Once I claim it, the name and stats changed.

Only the claimed inventory screen can be trusted, and the corrected name is put in all places upon reloading or going to another system or resummoning the ship etc

You can see the class and SC layout which are both significantly more important than stat variations within the same class

Stat bonus variations aren't worth maximizing in any context imo, they're the same for all of the same sentinel ship design across the star system I believe

so stressing over a ship design you like "being bad" isn't fun, and even then they aren't "bad"

Well it's only the Boundary Herald and The Wraith that have this issue, all other expedition ships (besides the Iron Vulture which counts as a fabricated ship) can be traded to other players using standard procedure. The two newest expedition ships were probably just built in a different way making them unintentionally not work as easily with the process

upgrades for living ships can be gotten in two ways:

• Psychonic Eggs: Psychonic eggs are an item aquired as a reward from successful frigate mission encounters, if a living frigate is on said mission.

• Melody Egg space encounters: Melody eggs are a rare space encounter, appearing with the message Anomaly Detected. destroying one will grant a technology upgrade for a living ship.

• Melody eggs are much more common as an encounter when flying a living ship.

Storage Augmentations

Storage augmentations for living ships are in the form of the Spawning Sac item. Aquired in the same way as psychonic eggs, from successful frigate mission encounters, if a living frigate is on said mission.

Decided to keep it after all. Highly doubtful I'll ever find a ship like this with the same face and mouth in a different colour. The light orange works really well on the dark orange imo. I've seen worse orange ships soo....

Double dissonance systems. I've encountered them. Yeah ship is always the same style and colour scheme. Class ranges from C (worst) to S (best) so keep triggering the harmonic camp until it produces the class you want.

I wish you could cycle through different colour schemes but that would be difficult if it's random while also shuffling for class

I just discovered me orange sentinel isn't orange and light orange but orange and light yellow

Needless to say I'm keeping it despite not being the colour scheme I want because it's the face and mouth on that style that I've been looking for

The grey wings are common. It's the grey as a primary colour that are highly prized.

I've only encountered 2 grey primary ships. The other is this, that sadly like the other one I shared is also missing a thruster set, but is one of the coolest designs Ive ever seen.

It's my dream, hopefully 🤞 that we get a update that can at least allow us to activate inactive thrusters.

If that happens I'm going back for the above ship

Some people are talented enough to mod and activate unused thruster slots but I'm on PlayStation 5 so even if it can be modded I don't know how to obtain it on a console.

The only way I can see it working is if someone mods on PC then trades it to a NPC and then to a player

Play through missions, and basically explore worlds, collect Sentinels, obtain a Freighter, collect living ships, scrap ships, construct ships from parts, build up settlements. Basically that's the gist of the game

This game is more or less an exploration and discovery game

There is also base building elements.

This is grouch's counterpart to the black one eyed ship but it's a wide-faced quad eye with only one wing set and opening bottom prongs

I’m pretty basic; I have a fighter that I love and a sentinel that I plan to fix up, but I’ve been collecting ships to scrap and have been procrastinating scrapping them. Didn’t want to hit a limit if there was one

12 initially seems like a lot but once you start collecting parts and constructing plus a few sentinels, exotics and expedition rewards, it’s easy to fill up the all the slots.

Exotic is a class of ship, just like a hauler or fighter is a class of ship. The reason exotics and living ships don't apply to the class rules in this chart is for partially different reasons. Exotics are always s class, and no matter what economy the system you're in is there is a 1 in 301 chance that any ship that flies into the station or trade post is an exotic. Living ships are also only s class, but because of how they work, they essentially replace a normal crashed ship, so their spawn is unaffected by these rules. All S-Class things have the maximum amount of supercharged slots, which is 4, I have coordinates to a bunch I've found though. If you don't have the glyphs yet, you could search until you find your own (would be best to search in an Outlaw system that has dissonant worlds) or you could upgrade an existing one to S-Class using lots and lots of Nanites at a Starship Outfitting Terminal (use !faq-nanites in #bot-spam to see many good ways to earn lots of Nanites)

Exotic ships look very very funky, and there's one design per star system. Most of them are "royal" style ones in the shape of a ball, but 1/20 of them are the "squid" style that's very different looking and strange, could be considered the "rarest" kind of ship

You farm for an exotic ship, either it's gonna be a squid or one of the orb-based models
