No point putting beacon or coords, unless its for a crashed version. Exotics, like any ship that is not sentinel/living can land anywhere where there is a landing pad. This includes Space Stations, Trade outposts, player bases, settlements, freighters and other npc buildings with a landing pad. There is no weight, to land at any particular place more than another

here's a weird method that has worked for me - i've noticed the behaviors of the starships change when i move around on the trading post or station platform. i can't explain why it happens, but it eventually changes the behavior from flying away to actually landing

in other words, don't stand in one place idling 🙂

fwiw, one thing that i've experienced is if i've stayed in one place too long and allowed several waves of ships to come and go, the game seems to go through a reset and it takes a while for the next set of starship waves to come in. maybe that is what you're seeing too? idk....

Well I know where I'm going after I find all of the Glyphs. I have need to fire up my PS4 and enable cross-save. If you do upgrade a ship to a higher class does it improve the 4 random stats? Does it re-roll them or just inclement?

to my understanding, every ship has a predetermined slot layout based on the initial seed, when you upgrade a ships' class the sc slots get revealed. so no, an upgrade doesn't improve your chances in where the sc slots land.
so for example, if someone posts a crashed ship having 4sc slots in a square config, but it starts out as a C-class, that ship already has those slots predetermined to become square 4sc once upgraded to S-class

all of those stats will increase when class is upgraded

and will increase further when you apply the S or X upgrades to them

fwiw, the obvious advantage to finding a natural S-class means you don't need to upgrade the class, so it will save you on nanites 🙂
but there are several ways to make a lot of nanites in the game so upgrading may not be an issue at all....

I find destroying dissonance drilling rigs is a great way to boost nanites...and completing missions at the Nexus

you can also farm tech/arms packets from outlaw systems' black market dealers and sell the upgrades that are in them for nanites - just hop from station to station to do that

you can always look for other locations. Trading outposts sometimes have npc ships, and your freighter should bring some too.

space stations and trading posts are easy places to find ships, look for systems where gek is the dominant race as these will spawn more haulers.
as for a purple ship, you'll probably want to build your own if you want specific color config

The only ship that are available for parts are fighter explorer hauler, and solar. If you use your scan tool on the ships inside space station or outpost, you can buy the ship off the NPC and then go in the back of a space station to the ship module in the far left inside the station and go to scrap and pick the mod part you want to keep such as cockpit, wings, and engine

you need to collect the parts that make up a ship by buying (or finding a crashed ship) then scrapping for the part

of course to do all of this you need to make sure you have enough units to buy all those ships

But for majority of ship parts, those share the 3 colours selected

If you are posting Class for sentinel ships, you are advised to also post the planetary coordinates, as the class changes for each crash site on a planet. If someone wanted the same ship at S class, they would need to go to the exact same crash site to get it.

One of methods of getting exotics is using freighter, when you summon freighter, npcs spawn and there is a chance one will be an exotic and land in freighter, if no exotic spawn, pulse for 4 seconds, then summon freighter again. Best done when you only own 1 ship so more npcs can land

it's not a game-breaker by any means, but it is a bit annoying to see it. back when i was a developer, we would flag this as KS (known shippable) until we cleared the critical game breakers first

It could be an instance thing, basically upto say 30 people share an instance, and people are continually shifting between instances cause there are more than 30 people in the system. This could possibly show different ships for each person, but cause there is a lot of people, might be breaking the instance magic. All I can suggest is trying turning off mp.

Yes sometimes when someone joins your system, it will turn immediately from day to night on a planet

I know each freighter, the owner of the instance of the freighter is the owner of the freighter. A bit more complicated when it comes to station. It looks like a similar thing when trading ships was bugged and the traded ship used to disappear

I stopped looking for 1st waves when HG changed something and all my 1st waves changed to not 1st waves. I thought i aint wasting time anymore, and just looked into ways of finding exotics in general faster

doesnt work as well these days, asfaik it only works on steam, not tested on ps5 since patch, but not worked on ps5 since worlds update 2. Dunno about xbox as I no longer have one. Try !faq-exoticfarm in bot spam channel, for freighter battle method.

I used to find an exotic every 10min with that method

tried to keep it sekrit cause people were wondering how I found so fast, and I just replied MAGIC!!, good thing about it, can use it in multiplayer to help people get exotics. That is why I used to have a save just for freighter battle, with freighter battle always on next jump

but only works on systems where freighter battle has 5 enemy ships, and doesnt work on pirate dreadnought spawns, so when dreadnoughts were released it made it less reliable.

It used to work on everything except for previous gen consoles like ps4, but recently doesnt seem to work on ps5. Not sure about Xbox as cant find anyone to test it on xbox

if you swap to 1st person view straight after battle completes, you have a ship scanner on bottom right, if on gamepad, you can press left or right on D pad and it will go through all ships around you and you can see the 3D model of the ships. Do that until you see exotic, sometimes it just goes to station for me

Yesterday I found the same kind of ship which is what I was searching for, and I went into the space station to save but the fleet despawned ;o;

there are many examples of c-class starships becoming awesome after upgrading to S

the starship i'm flying now was an A-class to start, when i upgraded it, it became a 4square sc layout

though you can't upgrade the class of freighters so it's a bit of a moot point

Hub mate built a landing pad with 12 spots using glitch building

He said it was one giant wooden floor panel

Then glitched in all 12 landing pads

I haven't gotten that good yet.

I keep finding those red ball haulers but not with the fins setup on either the tail or the ball

Wish there was a more aggressive tail style for the haulers, make the thrusters seem more like weapons

You can get those decals on your fabricated ships by hopping between space stations I believe, it's random at each station

Like different space stations give different small randomness to your ship, like the SC layout, stats and decals

That's just 3 saves, I usually fly exotic, solar or interceptor. I do have an odd fighter.

I have 1 save with just exotics, 2 with sentinels, and 3 others with mixed ships, 2 of which are my 1st ever saves

I didn't do, I just got glyphs off travellers, but with purple systems being unlocked and endgame, I'm having to go and do the quests on some of them. Some are just placeholders for the ships now

But thats good thing about screenshots with glyphs, I can get on any save I want, and if others like them, that's a bonus

That's why I just post ships in euclid now, easier to remember 12 months later, what galaxy ships are in

i don't know of a station, but i do know of a planet where there is a crashed ship that has those wings

you can scrap it for the wings, or you can keep it since i think it's an S-class

a portal is different from a teleport terminal, the anomaly has that giant teleporter, technically not a portal - you'll see what all of this means when you find an actual portal 🙂

not sure about sentinels, but for other ship types, outlaw systems have a higher chance of s class, but also a higher chance of being on the lower end of s class

its not unreasonable to assume sentinels are affected too

so yes, potentially normal

Favourite find so far. Got it after my 4th or 5th jump to a dissonant system, but stats were pretty bad and SC slots not great. Probably hundreds of jumps since and still nothing has quite caught my attention as this one.

it's from a past expedition, the expeditions can re-run usually towards the end of the year so you'd have a chance to get it then. But other players can also trade you the parts for it, someone gave me the engine part 😄
