Modules of the same type get stat bonuses when they’re arranged next to eachother.

Supercharged slots being right next to eachother means you can supercharge a mod type while getting the arrangement bonuses.

The dreadnought you found is literally ideal. You would not easily find a better dreadnought.

Because i would either have SC slots futher appart, and then supercharge different modules, instead of supercharing 1 copmonent...as far as i know i have to have 4 slots all around a base module, and then put upgrades on top, bottom, left and rights....this configuration wouldnt satify this criteria imo

Freighter storage isn’t a problem, regardless. You can easily add storage containers without needing a bulkhead, and that adds over 500 extra storage slots easy and cheap

ah rights, i was thinking about the slavaged module upgrades, which are for unlocking techs, but the 3 pronged yellow module (blue for starshop and red for multitool, purple for exosuit) is for the tech and storage upgrade...gotcha....i just didn't know they are the "bulkheads"

yeah, i already read the part where the numbered storage containers at your base are sync-ing with "any" base and freighter where you have the same numbered storage container built, so probably its going to be a lot easier to access mats if i want to build something on the fly. Currently my maxed out exosuit is full of all the components i discovered until now, and i only got 10 slots for new stuff if i find any....i just like to have everything on hand if i have to fix/build/install something on my startship or exocraft

you could also keep a hauler in your ship inventory and fill it to the top with all kinds of stuff you need, then summon whenever/wherever you are...just another way to have more stuff with you in case shit goes south

idk about everyone else, but i still get that 'anticipation' moment when hunting crashed ships - even after all these hours playing, i love the whole process from the moment you find it to the moment you start unlocking slots/class, etc. i guess it's because the game sometimes surprises you with a GREAT find, and it makes it all worth it...(me kicking the tires on a recent hunt)

maybe kind of, for a slightly complicated reason. all the interceptors in a system will gain SC from upgrading class in the same spots in the same order, but the starting SC position is random, tied to the crash site location. If you're in a 1* economy, you won't find natural S class, which could have SC in any position, so the only way to get 2x2 SC would be if you find A class that starts with SC adjacent to where the first unlocked SC will be, or youd have to be lucky and if 2 or 3 of the upgraded SC for that system are adjacent, only then could you find 2x2 from upgrading B or C class

so not every 1* system would be capable of spawning one, higher economy systems aren't guaranteed to have a perfect SC anywhere, but u have chances to check natural S class at least

for context, i've been experimenting with a 2 star system that has had (IMO) a rather large pool of C-class spawns that have resulted in 3+1 SC configs when upgraded to S, though have not gotten a single natural S spawn after in excess of 30 findings, nor a near ideal 4SC adjacency. Out of that 30, the pool of 3+1's is a little more than 25%, or to be exact 8. I think you are accurate in that the RNG seems very steep to spawn 4SC configurations.
this experiment was like playing a slot machine, when the last reel dropped the slot was always too far from the first 3! my next experiment will be to test out a 3 star system to see if the results will be any different.

When you upgrade a sentinel ship, the same 3 (from C class) is upgraded each time in that system. The only one that changes is the initial supercharge slot. So basically you only need to look at 1 c class sentinel ship and upgrade it to see the spread of sc slots when upgraded in the system. The only slots that are random after that are the initial slots the ship starts with. Which means that the only sentinel ship with total random sc slots in a system will be a natural s class.

As I sample a few 3* systems, i'm seeing your statement holding true there as well. 3* system still doesn't show any better advantage at spawning either an natural S or a lucky SC layout in the small sampling that i've experienced in the last couple hours. RNG is still shit. 🙂

so each crash site will have different initial sc slots

and then when upgraded, the same slots will be upgraded

This only happens with sentinel ships

So really you are lucky if the initial layout has sc slots clustered together in a tight pattern. I guess I got very lucky then with one find from the other day - the initial sc cluster was tight and it ended up in a rhombus config.

Though on the flipside, the shape of the sentinel isn't my favorite kind so there's ALWAYS a tradeoff of some kind. 😉

How does one find a living frigate in a system where its been identified?

There are 20 or ships that make up the ‘pool’ in each system (a system has a star and 1 to 6 planets).

So if you’ve visited 6 systems, you’ve only seen 120ish iterations of possible ship combinations.

After scrapping several interceptors, using the AI fragment sent me to a previously claimed site. I came across the exact same ones sitting at the same crash coordinates. When I clicked on it, the UI went to the claim screen, ready to be claimed again. My understanding is once you scrapped something it was gone forever. It's like the ghosts of scrapped ships past are coming back to haunt me.
Has this happened to anyone else here?

Interceptors spawn in viable discordant star systems as crashed starships. There is only 1 interceptor seed per viable system.

In other words, you’ll never find a different interceptor in a single system. Interceptor A will always be in System A. You won’t find Interceptor B in system A.

well that is the down side. You need the ai fragment or charmonic locator. For ai just shoot at space station and do not run. for charmonic get the masking upgrade for multi to make you invisible and you do not need to run. Just shoot/mine the inverted mirrors

so, I learned this applies to every world, the wealthy is just for more ships theoretically per reset, anyway, I've reloaded like a hundred times by now and seen like 400 ships yet not a single exotic, I'm 100% sure this method works since they're all random ship designs and types, but my luck is bad as hell

Every single star system has at least 21 ship seeds. 1 of those seeds is guaranteed to be an exotic ship. This is a universal constant. It’s like this in every galaxy, every star system.

Exotics are just really hard to come by.

You need to unlock portals, portals act like stargates, where you put an address for a specific star system you want to travel to. The "portals address" are the glyphs in the bottom left of most screenshots. Portals can be unlocked a few ways, but main and easiest way is to do the Artemis quest line to the end. That's a call you have to make. I flew a lower-class freighter for years. First S class was the pirate dreadnaught. I would have been happy with that for my first freighter. Mine was far more lame that that.

Probably, I dont usually reload, but I've waited 5 hrs once without it showing. As long as the system has a space station and isnt an abandoned station, it will show up.

When it comes to exotics, 3 star doesn't effect anything. Exotics dont have the same spawn rules as regular ships and have a flat 1 in 301 or 0.33% spawn chance across all economy levels despite what Youtubers say.

I know it's not a ship, but if anyone was interested I have this planet in Euclid where it's got Gravatino Balls in large numbers. I've found clusters with as many as 12 at one time. I've also attached coordinates to my Sentinel pillar base so later on if you want to you can save the portal and shut them down to farm balls in peace. Included is a medium-sized cluster as proof.

So if i get this right, the sentinel ships design varies from system to system, in some systems they are basic and in some systems you get like 4 pronged dragonfly tank threads etc and so on and on kind of designs

but is there a possibility for the basic design ones to be an S class as well? or are the more convoluted design the S class ones? Because i would like me a slick basic sentinel ship as well, but i just got an A so far while hunting. I have 3 systems, none of them have the overly agressive design, but i like those, im not nitpicky on the colors so much either

for example if i would find @grim dome ship as an S Class from further above...does the design matter? Would this little thing be possibly better than the bulky tank thread ones in terms of storage and tech slots?

An interceptor is an interceptor. It’s its own class of starship, and like all other starship classes, any interceptor can be S class regardless of its appearance

Doing 4 trench runs to eliminate the shield nodes and fuel rods is the fastest and easiest way to subdue a dreadnought

There’s no other reason to do it any other way

A little trick you can try is if you use the echo locator to find a camp, you can put down a save beacon to mark it and come back after each ship and ping new dissonant spikes

Those look like Afterburner V wings, a Needle Fuselage, and Vecto Thrusters. You can source all those parts from fighters, and craft it yourself with an S-Reactor.

wdym search 1 per system? if u wanna find a specific ship in S class, itll probably take a lot of time unless you have coordinates to an S class crash site. for most ships u gotta wait around at a station or trading post (trading post has more landing pads and ships spawn quickly when u save and reload). definitely takes more time than earning the nanites to upgrade class, but upgraded S class will be different from the natural S class, so it could be worth waiting around for natural S if u rlly care, or just feel like putting in the time. and glad to help if u have more questions

for interceptors the design will be the same for every interceptor crash site in that system, but every crash site will be different class and the SC will start in a different spot (also, all interceptors in that system will gain SC in the same location and order when the class is upgraded). if someone finds an S class they usually include planetary coordinates as well as glyphs, bc that crash site will always be the same S class, otherwise people just include glyphs and leave it up to you to find as good a crash site as you're willing to spend time on

and S class only show up naturally in 2* and 3* economy btw, ships in 1* gotta be upgraded

(except exotics which are always S class and can show up in 1* economy)
