You know you can buy more than one like this, scrap it for parts, and then build your own ship.

The Starship cores are simply purchasable, flat out, any class you want.

I suspect they will add customization for all ships eventually, but it can't be an easy thing to do, or they've would've just included all ships in the first place.

I think they only just added it for Solars with the last patch.

Yeah, you need to collect the glyphs, and progress through far enough to be able to use portals. Then just enter those glyphs into a portal and go.

You'll still need to be patient while waiting for it to spawn, of course.

I suppose you could warp around a bit and make your fifth warp land into that Solar System to trigger a Freighter Battle, and then you may be able to force it to land in the freighter. There's a separate guide fo that, but you need to get to the system first.

in the main missions, in the artemis mission will unlock them for you i believe

I don't recall off the top of my head... come to think of it, you may not need to do any questing at all... An exocraft with a radar can scan for portals... The glyphs can be found by speaking with travellers at space stations(they're always super funky looking and kind of shimmer, almost like they're being scanned).

Though one of the main quests will introduce portals to you, it's advised not to use any of those for any other purpose, as the results can be buggy.

And one of the main quests does actually give you all the glyphs anyway.

I believe b... is correct that the Artemis path, toward the end of it, will get you all the quests glyphs. I'm not sure which would be faster, grinding them manually, or just doing the quest.

You would only lose the ship you're salvaging. Assuming a ship is in good repair, you can switch between them at will when you're on the space station.

You really can just wait and reload at a trading post or space station enough times, and it's inevitable it will land for you. Just takes some patience.

Salvage is a pretty common method too. This can easily get you a lot of ships, but you can also scrap the ones you're not trying to keep in order to extract money out of them. You can also get a fair amount of nanites, as scrapping ships yields both parts you can sell for credits, and upgrades you can sell for nanites. Sometimes you'll also get Starship Expansion Modules.

Though the economics of getting that last one means scrapping Class-A ships are the best method.

You won't commonly find Class-A ships as salvage.

There's a couple possible reasons

A) You are in the wrong galaxy. All galaxies share the same portal glyphs to planets but if you aren't in the correct galaxy you'll go to the wrong location

B) The system might be a purple system and if you haven't completed "In Stellar Multitudes" yet you can't access those

Go to any dissonant system and land in the dissonance detected planet

I know 2 ways :

• Destroy the weird machine-like purple thing, it can randomly give you a quest to localize a ship on the same planet, pretty rare tho.
• Trigger sentinels, then fly into the sky, destroy waves after waves until mothership spawn. After destroying it, you will get an item that will indicates you were found a sentinel ship, anywhere close to you. If you're in a dissonant system, it will be in it, if not you will need to warp.

hello, my wife and i have been trying to get her a ship that matches mine for a few days now. we went to the same exact spot, with multiplayer off and not in a group. the ship was there for me but not for her, even after reloading restore point and waiting for autosave then reloading.

she waited a couple of days and went back... ship still not there.

for me... it's been there about 5 times now and allowed me to claim the ship each time.

she's definitely at the right spot, we got the glyphs and coordinates from a video... they work for me but not for her.

Maybe you're both better off playing solo for a bit, getting the ships, and getting back together once you both have one

we tried for two days... no luck. we tried trading several of the ships, they had the wrong slot shapes.

she finally found a diff one on the planet with the right slots.

they are C class in the wild but upgrade to 4 touching SC slots when you make them S class.

im not 100% sure if that is the only way you can see them, but you can make the pirate ship surrender and then see if the freighters are the ones you want, if not reload your autosave and you will be fighting the pirates again. it only takes a few seconds to disable their engines and then the cannons and they surrender right then

i dont even bother with shields, just fly in close and kill the things you need to make it stop

i found a ship with a perfect 4 supercharged layout when you upgrade it from C to S and wanted to trade it to my wife but every time we traded the ship the slot layout was different. I tried trading the original one, traded one that was already upgraded to S class, tried multiple identical ships... but every time we did the slot layout was wrong.

is there a way to get the good layout? do we just need to keep trying until it is right, or is there something that makes it never be the right layout?

A) Through the main storyline mission named The Purge: perform 16 warps in any direction, to any system (despite what the quest objective says). Wait for the game to register the last warp, then warp out again. Type !faq-artemispath in #bot-spam for a list of missions.

B) Find Travelers in inhabited star systems, and for 100 nanites, ask them where they came from.
This will add a HUD marker to a grave location on one of the planets in the system: follow it and interact with the grave to obtain the next glyph. C) Through the Eliminate Hazardous Flora Nexus mission. It is strongly recommended to do this with multiplayer disabled. As part of the mission, the player is led to a grave. Once located, do not interact with it but instead build and claim a base computer near by, then return to the Space Anomaly by reloading restore point or using on-foot quick menu shortcut (if available). Nexus missions refresh every 10 minutes, so if the mission is still available (or another of the same type has been added with the last refresh), the process can be repeated again. Once done with finding graves, they can easily be reached through any teleporter.

They're the ships with solar sails that you can see in any kind of inhabited system but are most common in pirate systems

They give you free launch fuel recharge while pulsing between planets. Combined with the launch auto charger tech a solar ship will rarely ever need to have its fuel refilled

Anyway @winter obsidian to answer your question on how to get the parts. Pirate systems, the ones that have a skull when you hover over them. Solar ships are more common in those systems. Warp to one, scan for a trading post or hang out in the station and wait for them to land. Check them out and see if they have the parts you like and buy them to scrap for that customization module

Not every pirate system will have solar ships with the parts you're looking for so you may have to bounce between some systems if you can't find the one you like

Hi - Find a Planet that is Dissonant. Make a Rover with a cannon. Go round and kill the Dissonant Resonators and these will gibe you Harmonic Serch things (cannot remember teh name) - These will take you to a Harmonic Camp and from there you can search for Dissonant Spikes.

7 hours of playing now and constant warping still havent had the freighter fight spawn in

Higher chance of them showing is if you warp to a mercenary system I believe

i failed it twice when i first started does that change anything

No, if you go to a different mercenary system or reload the save, it’ll reset the occurrence

I recommend shooting the engines in the back so that it can’t warp away

And if you destroy the main turrets on the top with the destroyed engines, the freighter will surrender
