I am crafting/constructing a ship from parts, which is all going fine-- however, i keep having markings on the front that I don't like. I've visited a few space stations now where the markings are in different colours, but I can't get rid of them.

is there a way to influence which colour they end up? I don't mind if they're gray/black/white, but i keep encountering all kinds of fancy purple/yellow/blue/etc

Unless you're looking for SC slots, there is no point into building a low class ship

One on the right, I was coming to get, it has the full wings, not the skinny wings, and in almost each and every single way it is perfect, not the Orange and White colors, but Orange and Black, a much more proper color arrangement if you ask me. Trouble thing is, the thing doesn't have the vented under skirt like the one on the left does (My current ship) I want to replace that current ship with one that is Black and Orange, so I could leave the Orange and White with skinny wings behind. Question is, is there one out there, that can help quench that for me?

Well for the pirate dreadnaught you need to have the enough money to buy one, then fly from system to system until you encounter a civilian freighter raid, you gotta blow up the engines and t he anti freighter cannons, then the Dreadnaught will surrender upon you and then you should be able to seize control over it (Basically buying it) or demanding a payment

Well a fast way of getting easy Units is go Sentinel Ship Hunting on Dissonant systems

Each Sentinel ship can give you around 20M up to 48M per ship salvaged

Well, you can find the Sentinel ships through Echo locators or AI Carrier fragments, which are defeating Corrupted Sentinel or Interceptors

You gotta go scavenging for Radiant Shards and Inverted mirrors (Found in the Dissonance Spike planets, the same as with the ships)

Overall... The process isnt exactly tedious nor complicated if you got a good or decent Multi-tool in terms of damage and mining

You need to own a freighter before they will spawn, and it can be any freighter. You also need to complete 2x regular freighter battles. Dreadnoughts ARE free as you make them surrender. They can be found in Outlaw and High Conflict space

however, the rule about other freighters still stand for them: until player takes ownership of a freighter, all freighters rescued from pirates will be offered for free

After collecting all the expedition ships, a living ship, and two S-class Sentinel ships, I decided it was time to build my own. It's not totally finished as I ran out of some upgrades and still tweaking the warp and maneuverability for max output but I'm just in love with the look of it. Reminds me of those 'post empire' ships from Star Wars. Ones rebuilt using parts from other ships to get working again.

I was wondering if there's a way to get more damage on my sentinel interceptor ship

I lucked out and got one with four sc slots next to each other. I grinded the best possible x class upgrades and put three in the sc slots (fourth sc slot houses the ika)

For crashed ships on planet surface u need also post. +- planetary coords position. They are displayed in mt visor or in your ship cockpit. Ships stats, class and supercharged slot layout changes with each crash site.

This one is a U-Wing type Interceptor that is White and Red, and is needing a very good home. Also note, that the glyphs in my pictures differ from the ones in the video. While they will take you to the same system, you'll need to go to the right planet. So, just use the glyphs iin my pictures, as they'll take you straight over to the correct planet.

I found another one, and this one has shown me it's under side, so that you could get a really good examination on this one, here is the third picture.

There are basically 2 types of exotic, the black ball type, and squids.

Squids have more colour variations, but all have same parts

1 in 20 systems is the chance to spawn a squid apparently

trade outposts alot, but expedition ones are slightly different, as more people tend to be interested in those systems, cause they travelling in them anyway. So more people interested = more insentive to sit there and find what ship it is. There are also techniques that make them appear faster

Go to Galaxy its in, Find a portal on a planet, put portal glyph address found in bottom left of photo, travel through portal to get to system, then go trade centre/ station and sit there till it comes

Noone knows what ships are in any system, until someone goes there and sees what there is. Yes for that particular exotic, that is the only place you are likely to find it with that name etc. However there will be other systems with that exotic design and colour, but its a case of finding one

When hunting S class freighters did the strategy change since auto save got introduced years ago? I haven't hunted for a new freighter in about 4 or more years.

Now that auto save is ruining the way it use to be done. Find freighter, complete event, lanon freighter, scan, if not S-class load from last save.

But now since it would save as soon as you land on the freighter to scan class it changes things.

So what's the method now. I'm slowly getting back into the game and things are different from I remember them being.

Basically my freighter model changed since updating the game and I'm trying to get back the model I liked.

In addition to that method, Dreadnought battles spawn a capital freighter, that you have to defend, if you successfully defend the civilian capital you can get the civilian capital. There are systems that spawn the Dreadnought battle every time you warp in, so in those systems, no need for save scumming, just jump in defeat the dreadnought, check civilian freighter, warp out and warp in if its not the class you want.

I think if you doing regular battles, you have to make a save before you warp in, warp in complete battle and then land on freighter, check class and then reload save from before warp in. You cant warp in, land at station, make a save, then exit station do battle, check freighter class, then reload save to in station anymore

As far as Im aware, landing and exiting ship on freighter does not make a new save

1: First you look up the ship you want, then go to a galaxy that ship isn't in and activate the egg quest.

2: Next, go the coordinates and you will find a crashed ship.

3: Finally, go to your quest log and select the button that says to "restart with nearby structures".

BOOM, that crash ship magically turns into the ship you were hunting.

Anyway, back to ship hunting:
Crashed S-class hauler. Euclid.

Go to planet Ayeteb Alpha, there's a base there called S-Class.

Also in the redux of expedition 2, the first area, there is an S-rank shuttle in the space station pool.

Shuttle will be in the systems pool, that means it can also spawn at any trading outposts in the system

Class isn't in any pool but is rolled when the ship spawns and can be rerolled by reloading and waiting for the ship to spawn again

What Bjorn was saying before, is basically any of the 20 non exotic ship designs in the system can be s class (depending on economy level of system) so unless its an s class crash site, its pointless posting that its s class or any other class, as each of the other 20 non exotic designs have equal chance to be s class or any other class. Basically when a ship spawns, it randomly spawns a class for a ship, and it will change class everytime it spawns

The issue is that you need to restart the mission right next to where the living ship you want is about to spawn

In order to restart the mission, you need to both 1: have it active. And 2: be sufficiently far away from where you activated it

So either be a lot of jumps away, or be in a different galaxy

I did this just last night. Went to calypso, encountered the mother living ship, got the quest. Then teleported to my portal base in euclid, went to the solar system and coordinates of the living ship someone else found.

No, you can sometimes get multiple exotics spawning at same time. Its not like there is physically 1 exotic ship in the whole system. Its just that they have a very low spawn chance sometimes. I have previously spent 5 hrs looking for one, and not finding it. A friend found same one in 45 min.

but living ship storage isn't too hard to get normally, if you have a living frigate ortwo, just sending those out on expeditions will get you storage upgrades at a pretty good rate

That’s what I’m leaning towards. I have a couple sentinel ships pushing 100k on dps and around 1,200 maneuverability. They’re great for fighting. I just want this to cruise around in style and be strong enough to take out anything I run into without having to run.

The class is random. I got mine about a week ago. After playing 3 hours, I jumped back and forth to a 3 star pirate system, stopping at the space station to save each time. That way when I beat the freighter, I would dock, get out of my ship and scan it to see the class. If it wasn’t an s class, I would reload the save point and jump straight into battle again. Took about 20 tries to get an s class. @leaden egret

Same Ship, different crash site, different SC slot layout

I get what you are saying, that when you upgrade the ship, it upgrades the same sc slots

It dosent matter where u upgrade the slots bc clots where rolled before on the crash site.

Yeah exactly, so the slots showing are the random rolled slots and the slots that show up when you upgrade will always appear in the same spot for all ships in that system

I personally not that bothered about SC slots on ships, and wouldnt spend the time upgrading and searching for the "ideal" SC slot layout after upgrade. Like Ive said a dozen times before, Im just interested in designs, its up to others to find the best class/sc slot layout

If Im that bothered about sc slots Ill, just save edit them

Well it matters in two ways, time and probability. Time because in a tier 3 system for instance you only have a 30% chance of finding C class and can't even check all 3 slots without one, and you can check A-class but you're rolling a like 4 in 4050 chance on them without getting any info about B or C class configs

I once read that S class MT cabinets have/had strong correlation with high economy systems but I swear I find more S class cabinets in the last 3 months I've played in poorer economies than the wealthy ones where I go to 50+ cabinets looking specifically for S class cabinets

I would not be surprised to learn they changed it in the last year +

If your goal is to share a ship so others can grab it too then in case of living ships you also have to include planetary coordinates

Each site can potentially offer a different living ship

Just knowing glyphs and galaxy won't be enough to find it

Well guys, having to take a different approach now at exotic ship hunting. There are just those few trading posts where I just end up waiting forever and never see an exotic. Yesterday I tried said new method and ultimately found a nice guppy! All is good now!

what was meant, is that living ship designs will differ also on specific crash site.
this then means, to get a specific ship design, like in a post, you need to go to the specific crash site it was found at
to do that, you also need planetary coordinates (latitude/longitude) and the planet it's on

Just restart starvirth quest line when your in the planet of the living ship

restar using nearby structures? that will work to get a living ship crash site, but without the coordinates of the specific one for the design, you're likely to get an entirely different looking one, even on the same planet

S-Class red interceptor with blue spine and I think they're called I-Fins? Bottom fins look like hercules beetle jaws. In Eissentam, coordinates are in the scanner screenshot in case the gold save beacon I dropped isn't there for you.
