During the leviathan expedition there was a lot of items who had this tooltip, and since i never obtained a class memory frag in my normal save, i'm assuming this is some kind of exclusive item

Main secrete here is the Photonix Core tech, It comes with starborn runner from expedition Omega, I just abused expedition ship cloning system to gey multiple copies of it (It an installed tech so you can package it but you cannot trade packaged technology)

btw, the best tech for a spaceship is the Phase beam with the unique shield recharge upgrade

allow you to leech power from other shield

There is 1 exotic design in every system that has a space station. 3* systems have a 2% chance of s class and outlaw 5%. Alternatively you can always upgrade current ship or manufacture an s class if you get the ship parts you want

bit more complicated than that, there are 4 different color schemes, worlds pt1 changes the the dark purple to black for one of the color schemes, but seemingly still no black on the "custom" palette

I've never ever seen a purple sentinel that wasn't meant to be black. They were always supposed to be black, but under bright light looked to have a purple or green tinge and Worlds pt1 just fixed that. As far as I'm aware, non bot/modded sentinel ships don't come in purple

Own a freighter, and have completed 2x regular freighter battles is a prerequisite

Other than that, warp to different Outlaw or High Conflict systems. If you have portal glyphs there are some systems that spawn the battle everytime you warp in as long as you meet the prerequisites

Ok, Top Picture, The Skull means outlaw system, if its not outlaw it will have 1 to 3 next to swords if you have the correct scanners installed. 3 conflict is high conflict

So the 2 next to the swords on this pic, you are looking for 3 which means high conflict

The dreadnought battles can appear at any time when you warp into High Conflict or Outlaw space and are not dependant on the 3 hr 5 warp rule

there is this one table that tells wheter a module is a 'greater' or a 'lesser' upgrade.. according to that list all base modules are 'lesser' upgrades, so according to that, the both x classes adjacent to the bottom left modules will receives a 'lesser' adjacency bonus for the base module

no, lotsa tweaks to the design and color schemes for living ships. can search in the channel here for images for them, people post them up with coords for others to get, or get multiple eggs and hunt for some different variations yourself.

Another alternative is using things such as player trading, a save editor, mod or service bot.

i dont like the large lower and upper wings as they glitch into all sorts of stuff.. like for example physically you are not able to fly through the dreadnought lanes at the height of them shield spheres.. youd actually have to point your gun down and fly much higher.. the model that has both wings in fact is physically close to impossiblet navigate through those lanes because of the bridges that have hanging guns

to be clear: nothing happens with them ships during these activities.. its just a visual thing

@low ingot, I'm a little confused when I should post in this channel and when I should post in explorers archive....I dont get why there are ship hunting, multitool, nursery and explorers archive channels, when they all do same thing. I get no chatting in explorers archive, but still I dont get the point except for posting non ship, multitool, animal stuff

Explorers archives is meant as a channel for Documenting only which means ~~any find ~~ what you find while exploring as per channels topic can go there as long as its properly documented. There is no single theme there. I treat it as a channel for very special finds so if I find something perticularly interesting that I want properly documented I will post it there. No chatting is allowed.

Channels like here #nms-legacy-ships are focused on one theme, chatting is allowed and documenting isn't as strict, since glyph rule not strict at all. If I want to just post a ship or chat about them I would come here.

That's just my interpretation and how I treat those channels

But you are right, maybe there should be some stronger differentiation or maybe a separate thread for specific finds in Archives or some other way while topic specific channels would remain for chatter about topics idk. If you have any ideas we are open for them, ill let rest of the team know, give them my thoughts and see what they think.

I'm lurking at this one system for ages now and for some reason, no matter if im in a pirate system or not i always get a dreadnought. is there a different method than pirate encounters? i mean even if i had no dreadnoughts at all, there still is the 3 hours limit and the chance to have the wrong pirate encounter...

When you have found enough exotics, you learn to listen for the sound of the distinctive engine noise when they land. This means I can go semi afk and listen for the exotic engine noise.

there is one exotic model per system, it can spawn in many places so it doesnt matter much where in the system you take the glyphs from, it just has to be in that system

I just sit at a space station or trade outpost and see what flies in. If you see a ship you like, you can buy off the pilot

I find that solar ships are quite common in outlaw systems

sentinel ships are different however and only available from crash sites

But even class-C sentinel ships scrap for millions, so it's still usually worth your time to repair it and then scrap it. (The moral quandary of scrapping a sentient AI ship that you literally just freed from the collective is up to you.)

My routine is usually, enter system, dock at station, check multitools for S Class, donate stuff at guild to get rating up, un dock, call in freighter, use system scanner, undock, fly to trade outpost, see what flies in for 15 or 20min, take off n warp to next system and start again. Sometimes I might find 2 or 3 interesting ships, sometimes 1 or none

And if a dissonant system find, sentinel ship and see what its like

What they mean are sentinel interceptors, found only on dissonant planets (purple crystals grow all over them)

Fight a load of sentinel interceptors and you’ll get the carrier ai fragment
