Bc you were in euclid, portals can take you anywhere within their galaxy, not between different galaxies

You can still utilise them, whenever you install an upgrade from a space station it's stats will be generated. If you have a bunch of them you can install all of them and keep 3 best of each type
Or just sell for nanites

General rule:
X class upgrades have a very wide range on their possible stats. That means they can go above what is possible for S class upgrades but will end up worse then C class upgrades most of the time.
It's a gamble for a bit later in the game when you get a better grasp on what stats mean in the game.
Doesn't mean you can't experiment, just don't throw all your nanites at them before you get a steady supply.

if you've been exploring, it's easy to just use the station teleporter

and nanites are easy enough to get, kill pirates to get suspicious packets of tech/arms, open them up, and each thing in there should be a few hundred nanites
you can also go sentinel ship hunting and take salvaged glass from each ship, they can give you stuff worth 300-400 or so
if you go interceptor hunting, remember to search all of the containers at the camps if you use echo locators, they can also give you suspicious packets

There doesn't seem so far to be any particular system charcteristic of a system that directly influences that.
There could be something, but nothing so far seems to have indicated that.
The seed of the ship (and thus its stats and SC placement) changes based on
- each individual part installed
- specific space station of assembly
- class of the reactor
Changing any of this completely rerolls the seed and gives you a different ship. But nothing so far really indicates any property of a system to influence the outcome (directly). Could also still be a case of insufficient data/sample sizes.
But i would personally not go on that goose hunt, unless it's what you want to do.

That is the only way to get the parts.

Well haulers are generally very expensive to buy, you can get crashed versions, but then you have the time to find the correct model and then repair it enough to fly it

Repairing is easy enough. Just need to repair the launch thrusters and the pulse engine. Don't need to fix anything else to fly it.
Or just repair them, then leave in original ship and summon the crashed ship in the space station.

The mats are very easy and simple to come by to do the needed repairs.
It's literally the first two things you do after you first find your ship.

fighter stats from 290-345 (damage) and 300-620 (maneuveribility) are quite a range

Do keep in mind the preview is bugged (as it's kinda always been) when it comes to showing the core stats.
You will need to have it as active ship and use the visor.
Needless to say, tech installed and/if on SC slots is gonna show wildly different

that's one of the two that can spawn normally
Normal capitals are Sentinel and Star Destroyer, they spawn after 2nd decline and are earned normally by saving them
Pirates are spawned after you have a freighter and are earned by defeating them

Only Gold ship I can think of is Golden Vector, which was an expedition reward which can no longer be gotten. You may be able to fabricate a ship and colour it Gold but im not even 50% sure of this
