I'm not entirely sure if I should be posting this here or not, but is there any way of increasing my chances of finding ships in general? I tend to try and explore the worlds I'm interested in as much as possible but I tend to only really stumble upon abandoned buildings and trade platforms. I haven't come across any crashed ships that weren't part of a quest chain.

If you say what class the ship is you need to provide coordinates to the specific crash site, otherwise class will likely not stay the same and people will be confused

The distress signal map actually has five possibilities. If you want to cheese it, you can buy five, keep using them until all five options come up (sometimes it won't let you because it chose an active encounter type already) then ignore all of them that aren't the crashed ships. You can hover over the site and see if it's a claimable ship or someone that's broken down. If you ignore the non crashed ships ones, you can then clear the crashed ship and keep spamming the distress signal maps which will now only show you crashed ships

So I suddenly thought to myself "Could I make an Arwing in No Man's Sky?", then I googled it and found a reddit post where someone had portal coordinates to a planet with a trading post where a ship similar to an Arwing lands, and went to said post, bought the ship, then dumped all my units into upgrade slots so I can fit all my tech from my Iron Vulture into it.

I no longer have that ship. It was a short lived amazing ship. I was messing with my nms save and when moving some ships from one save to my main, somehow the colors of my Iron Vulture transfered to my white solar ship

Did you figure it out mate? The SC layout changes with the seed, and seed changes with any of the variables. Changing any of these will change the layout (and stats) of the ship:

• different ship part
• different space station
• different reactor class used

Yes, as said above, using different parts will reroll the seed and give you diff results. But finding the best combo, for the specific space station and reactor class, seems to be pretty time consuming for the payoff (RE: stats)

that's pretty much. The coordinates are those glyphs on the bottom. Unless you want to give coordinates for the exact ship, then you send the coordinates that appear in the scan visor.

You need to post the glyphs too. Open the photo mode thing and in the bottom left it’ll show the glyph coordinates for that system. We need to know the galaxy it’s in (which is Euclid if you haven’t gone to the center of the galaxy yet), the glyphs to find the system, and those coordinates u just posted to find the ship on the planet

The coordinates you just posted are probably the least important part since we can find any sentinel ship in that system and it will be the same

Reliably only unique ships can be traded, these include but not limited to the switch ship, Utopia speeder, starborn runner, golden vector. It does not include the iron vulture.

I got that ship on a dissonant planet, so once you get to the point in the game you can warp, get to that galaxy, input those glyphs and when you get to that planet, that's the only sentinel ship model that spawns there

You may have to just work on getting the story out of the way before ship hunting

If you use an echo locator in that system it'll take you to an autophage camp on that planet, and from the terminal in that camp you can locate as many crash sites for that ship as you want until you find the class you're after

do you guys think shuttle building will come to the game? i’ve been looking at them much more closely lately and i can tell the different pieces apart. it doesn’t seem like there’s anything preventing it from being possible, they follow the same general rules as the rest of the ships. they are similar to haulers in terms of featuring a cockpit, a thruster, and wings

i’m a big softie for shuttles i think they are so cool. i’d love to build my own

now that i think about it, a lot of the wings are only equippable to certain thrusters, maybe that’s the reason we don’t have them

Hopefully they implement more ship building in the future. I would also love if for different types of ships you had to use different types of spacestations. Just like there's different space stations like abandoned/pirate/regular you could also have stations which will dictate which type of ship you can build. While also keeping huge space stations in which you can build the 3 that we can build now. For example, you might need a different spacestation to build solar ships. Or a sentinel space station to build sentinel ships. Heck. Maybe even add sentinel space station infiltration. Like derelict freighters, but at the end you unlock the possibility to build 1 sentinel ship.

Although maybe this talk should go to #nms-the-future

I kept jumping systems until I found fighters with them lol. Though that system that has the knockoff golden vector that I posted before my new “Radiant Pillar” also has a fighter with a rasa (Radiant) cockpit and the matching wings; it just doesn’t have the right booster lol. So I just had to buy the ship twice at the space station to get those parts (because I’m too lazy to go and search for a trade center all the time lol)

At first I grinded them and sold them, spent all day doing so. I got 24-60M per ship depending on the class, got about 10 ships a day...

you can do the math

and since I visited a lot of systems, I only sold the items in their respective systems that would give the most profit

but then it all boiled down to time. If I want to find the sentinels I actually want to keep, I can't spare time doing all that when I could be flying out to get another

Theres really not a best one... There is uncountable interceptors.. Its all in what you like and how much hunting you want to do to find the one you want with the best stats. Thats about the majority of my game play is hunting interceptors

To make finding that ship with those Sc Slots I also put down a Comm Ball And save beacon. so they can be easily found. that is once you reach the planet using the glyphs provided
