Look in outlaw systems, those have highest % chance to spawn stuff, freighters included

For one thing just in case you didn't know, you can own up to 12 starships at once so you'll still be able to keep the starter one

B-class interceptor is a pretty good upgrade from the starting one so ye looks like a good one to switch to while you look for something better

You can summon any of your owned starships from the quick menu, and if somehow they get stranded from being out of fuel, you can switch which ship you have docked while inside the Anomaly and that won't cost any fuel to bring it there (also using the quick menu)

On average, ~1 in 24 Exotic seed rolls is a Squid model. It should take scouting the Exotic from 3-4 dozen systems at most to hit a Squiddie, but like anything else in NMS, there is but 1 guarantee...

Theres literally just one Sentinel model per viable dissonant system, multiple wrecks - use an AI Fragment, or a Harmonic Camp, or kill 5 waves of Sentinels, all of these can be used to mark Interceptor wrecks.

I decided to land to it and now my question is... if I tell it to go, will I trigger the same encounter with the same egg and spawn another random living ship or will it just leave and loose the egg? Also, will it be the same if I tell it to leave or flee before landing or not?

You find dissonant camp by using echo locator that you get from corrupted sentinels or the drill thing that they are guarding. Then in camp you solve simple math puzzle. It will give you option to locate crashed interceptor.
Or you survive sentinel wanted lvl 5. You will get AI fragment and when using it it will locate ship

Ive been looking for the past 4 hours for a nice planet to settle in and while exiting my freighter to inspect one i just see at the corner of my eye THIS ship landing

time to do some shopping

No ships got replaced over the years, new ships like solars were added with a conversion mechanic

Make sure you are in the same galaxy, double check the glyphs so you know you are in the right system

The ship was not put in space stations, it was always there

The reason why you did not find the ship at the crash site is because Origins update changed some biomes on planets

New generation, new points of interests, new crashsites

But that model of ship was present there before

Each inhabited star system has a pool of 21 models of starships

All ships you see in the system, on crash sites, on space stations, flying over your head on planets, landing on freighters, etc. are taken from that pool

And with some small exceptions, no other ship models are present in the system

So the same models can be found both at crash sites or just bought from NPCs

I recommend a trade station. Do not land on one of the pads, leave all 7 available. Then go to the top and place a beacon. It makes a nice observatory. Save.
Wait for the wave. If you have left all 7 pads free, 5 ships should land. Check them quickly and if you don’t see the exotic just RELOAD you manual save. You will be back on top of the station and a new wave will come within 30 seconds. Check the ships (can do from afar with zoom) and reload as long as you are sure there is no exotic. Recycle like that as fast as possible until you succeed. You should be able to do a cycle every two minutes max. Count an average 60 reloads to get the exotic. Can be less, can be more. This means average 2 hours so be patient.
This is much faster than the space station! Good luck!

Cool little A-class explorer I found.

found an even better strat. so im in my ship in first person and i fly towards the trade station. the wave of ships spawn and i use the cycle targets button to look quickly at all of them. if i dont see the exotic i fly away until the targeting disappears and then i come back for the next wave. in 10 minutes the exotic spawned AND it was 20 mil instead of 41 mil on a trade station

You have to have already unlocked all 16 glyphs, usually via the main quest. For exotics they sometimes spawn in a specific place if it is crashed, but usually they are just somewhere in the system and waiting at the station or a trading post for long enough will bring it to you.

No problem! Yeah exploration and discovery are a blast so take your time with it. Once you finidh the main quest or have all 16 glyphs though you can go to a portal and input the glyph strings you see in the images here. Those will put you on a specific planet in a specific system and thats where you usually begin the hunt. If/when you start doing that though, remember to disable multiplayer in the network options before going through the portal on a ship hunt

Does the class of the found ships found in distress, change or are they always the same class each time?

@ripe socket Class is locked to specific wreck site, so if you find the same model at different crash sites, they wont have the same combination of Class, Slots, Installed Tech, and Damaged Slots. Some overlap can occur, but not 100%.

You can find sentinel ships on dissonant planets
They come in lots of varieties but if you ever find someone with a sentinel ship design you want, you can ask them for the glyphs of the system

Exotics have a low chance to spawn so you may be there for a while waiting for it.

I have tested this myself upgrade a A class salvage to S the damage was slightly lower but all the other stats went up a bit

My “collection” is just supposed to be for squid ships and other ships that I don’t have like the GV and US (those guy’s were obtained by using the service bot lol)

On this save I didn’t care about stats so

I think I’m going to go and a new save just for exotic’s now or maybe fighters

I already have a save full with living ships and a another one with just interceptors

Mine wasnt criticism, I just consider holding multiple ships with identical models wasteful when we only get 12 ship slots - but that's my opinion, which is what youre asking for when you say "rate my ship" without qualifying it.

Trade posts are generally advised due to how much quicker ships arrive, but stations have better waves and therefore are easier to sort of pick and choose

Go to a trade outpost and do not land on it. Land next to it. Then, wait for the ship to land. If it doesn’t by the time most of the ships left, reload restore point and repeat. If you see the ship, go talk to the npc next to it.
