Hey guys,

I'm new to the game, there's a ship I would like to give to a friend, is that possible? I heard about exchanging with an npc, and the the friend claims it, but I also heard that it doesn't work anymore.

Any ideas?

Player A boots up solo, exchanges ship to be given for an NPC ship, then runs over and enters purchase dialogue with NPC. Player B joins game at this point, and after landing, Player A releases the NPC, allowing Player B to purchase the ship.
Net difference in result: It's now selling ship @ stock game pricing as opposed to gifting.

@frozen mortar These days it's the only way - if both players are present when the ship is Exchanged, it triggers an interrupt to Multiplayer, so you get disconnected from the other player for several seconds. When they reconnect, the NPC defaults back to its natural ship from their perspective, the traded ship disappears.

Hello, new to ship hunting in NMS - watched a few videos regarding S class sentinel ships, are they there for the taking without having a AI carrier unit or do I use said item at those co-ords?

AI unit helps you find the location of the crashed ship
but if you already know the location you can just walk up, take the brain out, and activate the brain at a nearby monolith

just note that the AI unit gives you “a crashed ship location”, and it’s not necessarily the exact location for the ship you want
so you’d still want to use the coordinates (or comm ball if there’s one)

If you head to a certain system in Eissentam (Oishida I think, it's the starting system for the most recent/ongoing Expedition) there's a really cool orange/white/black interceptor with the angled back wings

Ok so the easiest way to get into Eissentam is to go to the Space Anomaly and use the big teleporter, there should be 3 featured bases there, the cafe themed one is located in Eissentam so you can just teleport there and from there you can begin the search for a portal

Eissentam is like number 10 ish I think so using that base is much faster than flying through galaxy centers

How galaxy travel normally works is either finishing the main story where you get to select one of 4 possible ones to go to, or journeying to the galactic core of whichever one you're in to go to the next one in numerical order (Euclid is #1) iirc

Or teleporting to a base that's in a different one

Yeah I think exploring all of one galaxy is very likely impossible single handedly XD other galaxies are nice cuz they have specific planet types spawn more (Calypso for example spawns more barren planets iirc while Eissentam spawns more lush and paradise planets) plus some things players find are only found in other galaxies so it's useful to have a few you can get to at the ready

normal has more exotic planets

harsh has extreme storms on almost all planets

And it's a rating, not a stat.. hence launch efficiency being max means it's the highest out of all of them, not 100%

This is done really well however I must ask since I’ve never found explorer ships with high hyperdrive stats where is the best system to get them all my interceptor ships hyperdrive stats are at 1100 - 1680

Korvax systems will have a higher ratio of explorers than any other race, so if you want you can camp in the station in one of their systems and check the ships that fly in for any ships that suit your fancy.

Take a close look at the supercharge slots. The 2nd one has a much better layout. You’ll get a better max for one of those stats if you’re trying to specialize the ship.

yo, I've been mining an echo camp to get a natural S Class spawn for a specific sentinel ship build that I like. Try as I might one doesn't seem to spawn, it's in a dissonant pirate system. Will it eventually pay off to keep mining or is it just not available on some systems?

Step by step on how to make every ship OP:

install infraknife
install q reasonator in a supercharge slot
get 3 reasonably good X tier pirate 4 stat mod

Boom now you kill everything

Pair it with an autoaim weapon for maxiumum accuracy by quick swapping between them in combat so the ship allign the position for the infraknife to nuke everything

You’ll need to obtain a Void egg, these can only be bought from the quicksilver synthesis companion for 3,200 quicksilver, or a player who has one (tho the egg cannot be activated)

Once obtained just pulse for a extended time in your current system until you get promoted to exit pulse, accept the coms from a living ship and start the starbirth questline.

The power of X class modules, tho that players ships manoeuvrability stat can be higher if they supercharge the non supercharged X class module instead of their pulse engine equivalent.

Other things play into effect however, such as supercharge slots and their placement plus how the player uses those slots, the ships type and base stats, ship class and of course modules and their stats.

Using your economy scanner, find a system that says dissonant instead of water or whatever. Warp there, find the dissonant planet.

Walk around until you find a big purple standup sentinel thing called a dissonance resonator. You want to find these, destroy em and farm them, they'll either drop an echo locator (which will show you a crashed sentinel ship or the site to find the ship) or a mirror, which you need, but you're trying to farm echo locators.

You can also do a space battle with the sentinels and when you destroy the sentinel freighter you’ll be awarded a locater that points you directly to a sentinel ship

If they patched it, the game wouldn’t break for a second every time you trade a ship to a NPC with a player present

They have just broken something to do with the mechanic of how they show for other players or get transferred to the NPC, if they wanted to fix the ship trading it would be more refined as a fix

Starship "Trading" Workaround

0. The key difference in this new method is that Player B (ship recipient) must purchase the ship for Units, so make sure financing is sorted out before meeting for the actual ship transfer.

1. Player A (ship provider) loads into their game with MultiPlayer disabled, and heads to a Space Station.

2. Player A exchanges ships with an NPC, then runs over to interact with them again, opening the "Make an offer" dialogue but proceeding no further.

3. Player A enables MP so that Player B can join their game.

4. When Player B has landed, debarked, and is ready to acquire, Player A cancels out of dialogue to allow Player B to interact and purchase.

@supple quartz Its a workaround in the most literal sense - since the exchange to NPC bugs out when both players are present, we just do the exchange before the other guy arrives now. XD

Yeh i tried a method similar to that in the hopes it would work however the ship was just either not present for the other player or changed so i ruled it out after multiple tries however that was a few days after it echoes so I’ll give this a go

Yeah I think they really missed a huge opportunity with getting in and out of ships there should actually be a animation instead of just teleporting in and out of the ship

They should make it so when you get in and out of a ship it shows a animation of the player hoping into the cockpit

Glyphs are always unlocked in the same order. If game lore interests you, progress through the main questline to learn them for free. Excluding that, you may also obtain glyphs from Traveler graves.
Either way, players can choose any of the following options to unlock all 16 portal glyphs in the save.

1. Through the main storyline, mission named The Purge: perform 16 warps in any direction, to any system (despite what the quest objective says).

2. Find Travelers in inhabited star systems, and for 100 nanites, ask them where they came from.
   This will add a HUD marker to a grave location on one of the planets in the system: follow it and interact with the grave to obtain the next glyph. The HUD can't mark more than 1 grave site at the same time.

if you started the game, there is 2 way to get a descent ship :
1 : find a design you like, get some money and wait until you get a A or S class, this methode take time and dedications, and sometime the ships have very bad stats
2 : do the main quest line until you have all 16 portal glyph/find some ready to taxi you, then search on reddit/youtube/NMSGE (website) a ship you like or a ship who have high core stats/good SC slots (not required but it will make the game a breeze), then go to the location and get the ship^
If you're looking for a way to make quick money, i recomand you to get a "gravitino world", those planets have millions of gravitino balls on the surface, and sentinels can be avoided simply by running and quickly collecting gravitino, then hide in a hole, wait for the sentinel to forget you, call the ship and sell to the space station

Starter ship i recomend :
Fighters (Vy'keen systems), good stats, lack in storage, low price/Solars (pirate systems and rarely normal systems) pretty nice ship for combats, have a launch full upgrade that recharge it when landed
Shuttle (any systems), average stats, reduce cost for launch and pulse drive, good storage, low price but most look ugly
Interceptors (need some mining tool upgrades, dissonant systems) excelent ships, very good stats but only 1 model per system/planet
Hauler (geek systems), average stats, high shield (not really usefull), massive inventory, extremely expensive early game
Exotics (garanted S class, 1 per systems, pirate are the best to farm them), above average stats, medium/low inventory, not that expensive, you like it or not XD, like any S class ship, it's a long wait

There is a fighter ship I've seen a few times that I have no idea where people got it. I assume it's from an expedition I wasn't around for. Not the Golden Vector, but a different fighter with guns attached to the wings. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I know they’re rare, but does anyone know the actual percentage of finding a desired S-Class sentinel. This is probably my 5th or 6th on this planet and they’ve all been B and C. In total I’ve probably found about 15-20 sentinel ships, and I think I’ve gotten 1-2 A-Class

I learned another trick for hunting a specific interceptor you want for good stats

If you are grinding a interceptor you want to have good stats on you just go to the space station with it and go upgrade it to max rank if it doesn't have good SC slot layout then you reload the restore point and then you will respawn in the space station and you can just sell the ship then you repeat the process just make sure before you do this you put a save becon at the location of were the ship was from before flying away and you do this to every single location you find and after you go back you just delete the save becon or pick it up so you can use it in the next location

Note you still use up the location devices for finding interceptors so just keep that in mind

It works best if you use the dreadnought AI to find interceptors because it shows you the location of the ship itself btw you get those by completing a full sentinel space battle it comes from the dreadnought freighter apon kill and is 100% always given

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve got a full S-Class squadron and I’ve just just been shooting at the Space Station and then destroying sentinel freighter

If you just shoot any non outlaw space station and get really far away fast you can get a sentinel fight

The Dissonance Resonator is good for finding the multi-tools, but it’s way more efficient to do the space station battle if you’re just looking for ships

@naive token I like yours better than ones with 40+, it may take more runs overall, but clearing most of it should be worth 2-4k nanites per run
