Quick question. I'm on a dissonant plant. I've claimed all of the sentinel ships in a small area. A class and C class only. If I travel to the other side of the planet, and hit a harmonic camp, is it going to bring me back to where I was previously farming, or will it show new ships with a chance at finding an S class?

there's the possibility that the other side of the planet has more interceptor sites, yeah. if any of them will be s-class or not, that's gameplay: got to keep hunting to find out

note that farming the nanites to class upgrade is often much faster than it is to find a natural s-class spawn

okay so, there's quite a few methods, some will require some progression first (e.g. salvaged glass farming, by killing sentinels, which requires an upgraded ship or multitool), while others don't involve combat at all, but might require units (i.e. suspicious packet tech/arms; get lots of those, unpack them, then sell the x-class upgrade modules to a module shop vendor for nanites). there's even cooking for nanites, or scrapping ships for nanites, or refining for nanites. perhaps you'd prefer to type !faq-nanites in #bot-spam , and take a look yourself?

I am not sure I understand.
Every Dissonant system has only one Interceptor model if that's what you're asking.
The model will stay the same but the Class and Superchargers change.

Yes . They are merged because two players have landed their ships in same spot. You can get quite cool ship combos.

I'm pretty new to ship hunting and have my first sentient interceptor. It was a real real struggle getting it, with vertical mountain cliffs to traverse and some bugs. I'm playing on extreme difficulty for my first playthrough because I'm insane, I got attacked not long after and everything broke. Had to go back. Managed to fix everything... Tldr; absolutely worth every moment. I no longer get blown out of the sky instantly lol

Almost got myself into a soft lock permadeath situation there... I played 14 hours of permadeath before this so uhhh glad I fixed my ship 😅 No emotional wreckage from permadeath

So… this is my first interceptor. Not a big fan of it, mainly because of the colors and the weird massive underbite. If it had any other colors other than peach and yellow, I would like it a lot more.

I’m going to scrap it… unless someone wants it. (I think its B class- the fact that I’m not entirely sure says that I just don’t like it enough to even use it 😭)

Yes and no, there is no direct trade but you can trade to an npc and the other person can grab your ship you just traded for free. Be warned, class and some stats are randomized, so if you are trading ships to trade an s class it won't be an s class when the other person gets it

I found one kinda, but it's primarily Red.

Does have some purple/black accents.

Sentinel Interceptors use purple a lot, and I think solars tend to have purple or pink sails.

Also living ships can be purple shades, and um...squid exotics can be purple/pink.

Purple's actually my fave colour. I tend to focus on sentinel interceptors, though.

You just basically hatch the egg in a system that is very far away from the system that the living ship is in the you go to the crash site were it is located if there is a normal ship there you reset the mission and hope it resets in that area if it doesn't then you reset to last restore point and keep doing that until it works

Ah, I did something similar. Kept resetting and portalling. I can provide the system glyphs, but I didn't save the coordinates. I was mostly just showing what may exist that I've personally seen. I took the screenshots for me so I could look at them, but I tell yah what. The next time I crack open an egg and go hunting, I'll save coordinates too.

Where are you reloading? As long as you are doing it correctly then the class will reroll each reload but keep in mind higher classes are rarer, it can take hours to get a S

As for Design and colour of the freighter if the post is old it’s possible and likely it’s changed

You need to purchase a void egg from the Quicksilver vendor in the Anomaly. Pulsing with it in your inventory will start the Starbirth quest.

The Starbirth quest uses real time wait timers and takes a week to complete. But you get your first living ship for free out of it.

(After the quest is completed once, you don't need to go through it again to get another living ship. But you do need to buy another void egg and have 10k nanites on hand)

I really don't know. I've never done that.
But I would continue to work off your current Restore Point. The current Restore point is what allows you to reset the freighter's Class.
But like I said, I am just guessing. Sorry about that 😳

In the future when you run into a Freighter Battle, don't even fight.
Fly into the Space Station and exit your Starship to create a Restore Point. The Battle will have ended.
Then fly inside the freighter and use your Visor to check it's Class.
Exiting inside the freighter will not create a Restore Point.
If it's an S Class, buy it.
If it's not an S Class, reload the Restore Point that you just created.
Wash, rinse, repeat until you get an S Class

You can not claim a living frigate if your fleet already has 30 frigates.

With Dream Aerial (Required for your first)

To obtain your first organic frigate, send out fleet expeditions until you receive a blueprint for the Dream Aerial. Craft the Dream Aerial (1 Solar Mirror and 3 Living Glass) and pulse drive in space with your ship. You will get an encounter with an organic frigate that asks many questions to determine the stats of the frigate. After you finish the questions, claim the living frigate.

Using the Dream Aerial randomizes class, which is otherwise fixed per system.
The Dream Aerial is only used this first time, and now should be discarded as it cannot be used by anyone.

With Anomaly Detectors

After acquiring your first organic frigate, you may now use Anomaly Detectors to acquire more. These are rare drops from blowing up asteroids.

Activate pulse drive (as stated above, use an Anomaly detector before doing so). Keep your pulse drive fueled as this may take some time depending on the system. While pulsing you may see alerts for rare objects or traders, ignore them. The Anomaly detector will be consumed if you exit pulse. Continue pulsing until you receive a Whalesong signal to discover a living frigate with these price ranges:

C-Class: 7,500,000 - 12,500,000 units.
B-Class: 15,000,000 - 25,000,000 units.

If you begin to notice any odd graphical glitches, stop and pulse in the opposite direction.

Additional Info
Feeding food to an organic frigate (freighter fleet management terminal > click on an organic frigate), will change its stats. Anything you feed a specific frigate should always reproduce that same result.
For example:
Feeding your frigate item A yields one result. Feeding it item B yields another. If you feed it item A again, it will be the same result you got the first time you fed it item A.

I have an intercepter as my everyday ship, then I have an exotic as my “asteroid miner” because I’m always low on silver for my freighter

To clarify some miss-information. @gaunt gull and @final isle

freighter battles are every 3 in game hours and 5 warps.

First freighter battle is free but if you decline the first free one the next one will be free until you actually accept it.

Class is random but if you save in a space station in a system the battle has started in you can reload that save until you get the class you want, the design of a freighter is set to a system so it will never change.

Running the command !faq-freighterfarm in #bot-spam will give more details.

There is no designated first free multitool, there is only ever multitools that you pay for or ones you can claim, so it’s depending on what you come across first

After finding a Portal, how do I use it?

On one of its sides, there's a terminal - it will pop out of the ground once you approach it. Interacting with it for the first time should prompt you to charge the portal up, and that's done by individually charging up all glyphs in the glyph wheel to 100%.

» Organic: 20 Carbon, 7 Condensed Carbon, or 10 Oxygen per glyph.
» Catalytic: 10 Sodium or 4 Sodium Nitrate per glyph.
» Earth: 20 Cobalt, 20 Deuterium, 20 Di-hydrogen, 5 Ionised Cobalt, or 50 Salt per glyph.
» Stellar: 20 Copper, 10 Cadmium, 7 Emeril, 5 Indium or 10 Activated Copper per glyph.

I charged up the portal, but nothing is happening?

Double check all glyphs charge bars. Are one or more not 100% charged? - see example.

I fully charged up the portal; now, which option do I choose?

Activate Portal will display the address input screen - Each portal address is made up of 12 glyphs. A Portal can only lead to locations in the same galaxy.
Request Planet Address will provide the current planet's glyph address, though this option is barely used today, due to the glyph address also showing up in photo mode.

After selecting Activate Portal, I don't have any glyphs available to input.
You need to learn the 16 glyphs to fully use the portal network -- although, after having learned 1 - 2 glyphs you could go places, just very limited choices.

📖 Did you know? The portal you charged up should still be good for a few more trips, even to different destinations. Bookmarking it with a base computer is probably a wise choice.

Best way is work on getting a dream ariel from frigate expaditions. Once you have it, you can get organic frigates, and they can bring back eggs or sacs that you can open for upgrades. Its a little time consuming, but well worth it

Doesnt have to be Vykeen but Vykeen in general is good for s class and exotics in my experience
