When you do the option to hide the photomode menu, the glyphs sometimes disappear. So just try it again and select the option once iirc and give it time so only the menu hides but not the glyphs

Mainly Sitting at trade posts with Gumsks Trader mod that lets 7 ships land per wave

and also freighter pulse method, where you pulse for 8 seconds, come out of pulse, summon freighter and 6 npcs spawn, check for exotic, if no exotic, pulse again for 8 seconds. If exotic spawns it can dock if space on your freighter

best done on saves with only 1 ship, as more space on freighter, if it doesnt land on freighter, it usually heads for nearest space station or trade outpost

i've been using the freighter battle method where you autosave when you're only 1 warp away from triggering a battle. then, you warp to whatever system and when the battle is triggered on that system, if there are 5 enemies in the fight, then one of the friendly ships is guaranteed to be the exotic of that system. if you don't like the exotic you see, you reload your pre-battle save and then just try again on a different system

it can get really annoying to spot the exotic sometimes... but it is a fast method

Unless you reloaded on space station before it landed there, your luck may be the only thing youve found evidence of, lol. Who knows, it could actually be a proper first wave and you simply havent bothered to check?

1st wave spawns are basically the only models that havent been posted, but you could always scout Core Maneuvering on models you find, purchase then screenshot looking through Visor at it.

Mjstral's bot can, I get 4 location searches per day - I've been working with him for 2 years though, so I enjoy priveleges on it others must subscribe to Mjstral's Patreon for.

Locations are a database of a few billion seeds per ship type, so you cannot always pull an exact match, but model parts + primary + secondary colour is no sweat for most ship types

I was going for undercoat, decal colours, and texture as well, but only hit on 3 of those 4

Unfortunately can't use on ps5

But its 1 reason upon many I swapped from ps5 to steam.

Still miss the haptic feedback and HDR on ps5 though

A quick ship hunting question as i'm a bit flabbergasted. Apparently in the Outlaws update the LS spawnpoints got shuffled. I get that. So i've found a ship i like that has been found AFTER the Outlaws update:

I'm at the exact coords in the correct system (yes, Euclid). I keep resetting the mission, but a LS (a different one) keeps appearing elsewhere. Am i doing something wrong?

PS. That's the SECOND ship and the on-line functions are turned off in the settings

@buoyant stump There a base or comm ball at the coords? Either too close to a wreck site is capable of forcing marker identification on players - an identified Distress Beacon marker cannot spawn an LS via quest reset. The only sure way to prevent this is by disconnecting internet entirely before travelling to the target system, so ODS cannot send you base/comm ball data.

So should i go to a different system, reconnect internet connection, disconnect it, go back, land a fair distance from the crash site and only then reset the mission @patent grail?

You can reset right on top of the crash site, that's how I pulled mine a few weeks back.

@buoyant stump As long as you clear cached base data, yes. Best to head to a system overflowing with MP bases, save and reload at space station, save and reload on a planet, then disconnect network and head back to target system.

I've turned the connection off, went into the system, landed on a planed, made a manual save, got into my ship, reset the mission, went on the spot, landed, used the photo mode, reloaded the manual save, restarted the mission, went to a different spot, landed there, checked the ship out using the photo mode, fully relogged the game, reloaded the manual save, restarted the mission, went to one other spot, landed, still a normal ship

I thought i try my hand at an import for once - it results in ship type "Unknown 1" and components like engine or thrusters being standard, not sentinel tech. is this working as intended or does this need some adjustment before writing to file?

@lyric meadowI am hoping that file was for one of the edited exotic canopy ball ships. To import it, sh0 is a goatfungus NMS Save Editor file, and the ship type would need to be selected as Exotic. I deleted most of those weird ships, but am hoping that was still one of them, it may not be.

can any ship type surpass the explorer class in hyperdrive range? I got a S class explorer that's real good but also real ugly.

got something like 2.3k(~1.2k base)jump range, only my sentinel ship comes close and it's short like 400

granted my sentinel ship is also an A class

I'd like to have an interceptor or living ship as my main hyperspace ship since their drives are easier and cheaper to refuel

i use freighter for interstellar travel almost exlusively, mine is at 4.2 iirc, but you can get above 6k afaik

explorer has afaik best hd multiplier among individual ships

I haven't paid enough attention to the Sentinel HD stats, but with explorer, the core stat matters. We used to build upon a base model with 181 core HD for the best stats.
