@novel folio Economy has no effect on Exotic spawns, a Trading Post is the best place to hunt, land your own ship on the ground so 5 NPCs can land per wave. If you claim a BaseComp at a TP and add 3 Landing Pads, your ship can use 1 of them, and the 2 empties allow a 6th NPC to land each wave.

when I first started the game I once logged in and didnt have my radiant pillar anymore and i was suddenly in this

in multiplayer in a space station trade your ship to any npc then the other player buys it from the npc. it resets all tech and cargo and gives it a random class

I don't think that is correct. Selling ships to NPCs causes the game to randomise stats, that includes class, yes

@rugged sonnet What you're talking about is the reskin glitch lol. Where you take the Class, Slots, installed Tech, and Bonus rolls from 1 ship and put a different skin on it - such as reskinning a B Class Fighter as a B Class Exotic.

That happened to my solar ship on my xbox save. My friend and i were collecting resources on a planet and we both called in our ships at the same time and somehow my solar ship turned into my friends living ship. The living ship was C class and had all of the solar ship upgrades on it.

@obtuse lodge @rugged sonnet The key to the reskin glitch is in MP, it requires that you claim (jump in) a ship without any NPC/Negotiate Screen interaction, you hop in with none of that, the game simply says 'Primary ship switched' - so if this ever happens, go jump back in your arrival ship immediately. As long as you don't leave the system/end session, you're able to undo the reskin.

In Solo play, HG has very nearly succeeded at killing the glitch - since 4.0, I've only seen 3 reports of someone who triggered accidental reskin via scrapping 2 ships in a row too quickly.

The thing was though...the solar ship was the only one i had at the time and it turned into my solar ship. I would go to the ship summon menu and it would still tell me the same name as my solar ship. I couldn't call my solar ship anymore because it was now a living ship.

I stopped playing my xbox save because that happened. I play it on playstation now.

@obtuse lodge Yes, unfortunately you either left the system or ended session - you can literally only undo it insystem/insession when it occurs. However, if you know where to pick up the original ship, tis possible to re-reskin back to that, or whatever else you may want to wear.

What kind of exotic are you looking for? Or want? As in design or color? You can do an NMSCE search of specific keywords to get coordinates if you've got glyphs -- or you can ask for a ride to said coordinates (I recommend sticking to Euclid galaxy as part of your search since it's easier to get rides there).

5 ships will land per wave, set up a save point to reload immediately when you see 1st wave hasnt the squid.

You could also toss a basecomp down, and build 3 more landing pads, 1 for your ship, 2 empty so a 6th NPC will land each wave.

Glyphs are always unlocked in the same order. If game lore interests you, progress through the main questline to learn them for free. Excluding that, you may also obtain glyphs from Traveler graves.
Either way, players can choose any of the following options to unlock all 16 portal glyphs in the save.

1. Through the main storyline, mission named The Purge: perform 16 warps in any direction, to any system (despite what the quest objective says).

2. Find Travelers in inhabited star systems, and for 100 nanites, ask them where they came from.
   This will add a HUD marker to a grave location on one of the planets in the system: follow it and interact with the grave to obtain the next glyph. The HUD can't mark more than 1 grave site at the same time.

3. Through the Eliminate Hazardous Flora Nexus mission, the player is led to a grave location. Build and claim a base computer near it, then reload the autosave, which will return the player to the Space Anomaly. This method can be used multiple times, before the Nexus cycles the available mission list. The player can then teleport to those base computers, and extract each grave's glyph.

they do but the ship you want is one out of 21 different designs and then out of THOSE potential spawns only 2% will be S-classes

to keep myself sane I decided to just take an A class and upgrade it later (25,000 nanites)

We can't assume they are in the system this ship spawns in

Yes but it's about the galaxy not system. If you are anywhere within the galaxy and you enter these glyphs you will be taken to the system this ship was in.

Also the point of the glyphs is to locate the ship. Why would they photograph the wrong glyphs to make a locate this ship post?
So I would advise trying to enter these glyphs and spend some time checking in the system it takes you to, to see if you can find that ship with those glyphs.

People just see a pretty ship, take a pic and ask for tips on finding it

There is no guarantee there are anywhere close it's original spawn

I could take a pic of my main fighter in Space Anomaly on the other side of galaxy

If you see a ship in that system it can be found in that system.

The only exception would be if the guy asking for the ship to be found was on the anomaly with MP on and saw another players ship and took a picture of that.

I play on switch so I do not ever see any players ships besides my own.
If you at a station, outpost, flying in space, on any planet, being attacked by pirates. Anything and you see a ship that is owned by an NPC. That ship can be located in that system

Also where did this picture come from? Did the guy asking for it to be located take the picture? Cause there is an option to not include glyphs if that's the case.
Otherwise I am assuming he saw this picture online that someone sent and is trying to figure out how to get to it. My advice would be to first check the system indicated by the glyphs.

I would say that we are being petty reasonable here.
It's a valid question.
Did @fervent wind take the picture? Or did they find the picture. If they took it while looking at another players ship in MP on the anomaly then yeah the glyphs won't work.
But if he didn't take the picture and instead found it online, the first thing to try would be use the glyphs and check that system.

Ok, then my advice for the future would be to use the "hide menu" option when taking a ship photo like this in the future so that there are not glyphs attached to it.
Other than that idk how to locate a ship without knowing any glyphs, other than checking the NMS CE

There is only 1 exotic starship model per system so you can't have multiple of them landing together in 1st wave

Also worth noting the Endurance update half a year ago changed the ship spawning mechanics, old posts with 1st wave exotic systems do not work anymore

@split breach Actually there have been documented cases of several double 1st wave Exotic spawns, even a couple of triples; sadly, all prior to the most recent 1stwave reroll

There is 1 Exotic seed assigned to each system, just as multiple copies of the same Fighter, Shuttle, etc can spawn and land simultaneously, so too can Exotics - tis just much rarer to see, outside of multi-1st wave 2 landing at the same time is about a 1 in 90,000 chance.
