It just comes down to luck and time, if memory serves outlaw systems have a higher chance of S class ships at the cost of having significantly more C class ones, but if you're in a system with a ship you like it'll just take time

You can go to the portal in the nexus, where you get those quicksilver missions. Of you go up and then to the right you have a massive portal, you can choose "best builds" or something like that, amd choose the cafe one. That one is in the right galaxy. Then find a portal, enter the coords and just wait a few minutes in the space station

oddly enough that one I linked looks to have been uploaded just two months ago

widening the search to other thrusters there are these ones as well, but again unless someone finds a crashed one the best bet is to get lucky at a trade station and hope the exotic lands

it varies, one system I had my freighter parked in had it's exotic land so readily I must have broken down 8 at this point, other systems I see the exotic do a loop around the trade post before flying into space, time is what it'll boil down to honestly, though normally less in higher economic tier systems (which I don't know how either of those are)

That is a high hyperdrive range for an unmodified ship. Although most people just look for something cool

Explorers also have a cheaper launch cost so if you're landing a lot doing stuff like farming distress signals then it is helpful there as well

@stray smelt An uploaded base at a crash site can interfere with the Living Ship spawn - no way to know for sure if it does without someone going there to try and spawn it.

@thick birch You only need to do the full quest for your first LS, after that the pulse encounter with a Void Egg in inventory leads you directly to a crash site with LS spawned that you can acquire for 10,000 nanites.

Solars: must look like interceptors of sorts.

Every single system in the game has a unique exotic ship (not fully unique, I’m sure there’s plenty of systems out there with duplicate looking ships because there’s only so many parts) and based on total exotic ship archetypes that can possibly spawn “mosquito” has like a 25-30% chance or above I’d say, so not crazy rare

In tier 3 star systems I think every ship that spawns has a 2% chance to be an exotic and in Outlaw/pirate systems it goes up to 5%

yep, no worries, one thing to know starting out is each system has its own group of ship designs, for both freighters as well as standard ships, and it is entirely luck as to which class they'll spawn as

so if you ever spot a ship with a design you like then spend some time in that system looking around and you'll eventually fine one of a decent class

at the anomaly there is the quicksilver vendor, to the right of the nexus where you pick up quest, a void egg can be bought there for, iirc, around 3200 quick silver and then when it's in your inventory the quest chain will start as you pulse around in space

when you're at the end of the quest, or trying to get a second living ship, the way the game generates them is by picking a crashed ship in the system you're in and 'taking it over,' replacing the normal crashed ship with a living one generated on a seed based on the system and location

It’s easier to do it solo honestly, if you want a specific looking one just search “capital freighter” on NMSCoordinateExchange and scroll through until you find one that looks like what you like. After that just save, and warp to a random system, if there’s a freighter battle going on in that system reload your save and then use a portal to teleport to the system with the dreadnought you want, if there’s no battle going on just save and warp again. if you do it correctly the system you portal to will have a freighter battle going on with the one you chose and then you can just go to the space station, save again, and reload the save until it appears as an S class or whatever class you want

You have to use their version of storage augments, that drop from psychonic eggs. You can get these with frigate missions that include an organic frigate. They all spawn with the same storage space.

what i do is:

1. go to a trading post (locate it with the ship economy scanner)
2. put a save beacon
3. wait for the ships to arrive
4. check if there's a good ship, if not:
5. save with beacon
6. go to menu and put "load manual save"
   after that the ships will spawn as different ships

repeat it until you get the ship

I have run across 2 squids in over 500 hours of playtime. A cool orange one, and a blah tan one. The tan one is now in my squadron. The orange I own in a non-main save of mine.

@sly dome there is a crashed one you can get as an s, if you google all white hotrod fighter you should easily find the video on and it's marked with a communication station so it's easy to find

@sly dome and I just got the ship like 2 weeks ago this s*** that's built around it shouldn't affect it but you might need to go offline before you warp to it or do a reload at the space station or something
