Also, yesterday both Joyito and Touy-Touy, my pet sandworm, laid an egg and I went crazy with the egg sequencer, overdosing on some things multiple times.
I had to wait a day before I could hatch the eggs but today is the day I can do it and I'm looking forward to see the results of my genetic splicing ☺️

I also made Joyito's baby even chonkier.

The sandworms seem to have a maximum size of 1.0, no matter how much you mess with them. That's assuming you don't mess with them "outside of the game".

I think the game scales creatures on their vertical axis. Scaling a grunt/mogara up from 1.0 to 3.0 isn't a really big deal, but if you scale a worm from 1.0 to 3.0 it becomes a flying subway train. 😄

Since the worms are long (length) but very technically-short (height).

(And titan worms are basically worms with a 50.0 body size)

I so wish this eagle-like creature were tamable, even with a nerfed version that flies just above the surface. Built a large cage-like structure high above trying to wait for one to fly in so I could trap it inside but to no avail, lol. They just flew through the wars and ceilings.

They're fairly common and only found in some of the uncharted systems. I've seen them in red, green, and blue systems. If you check discovery when you land on a planet and there are only 2 fauna listed you should see them

How many different colours can you get?

Because depending on how many there are I’m considering going back to the planet I found my blob on (gotta have a controle creature) and getting a ton of eggs

it depends on the species, really. but the color palettes for the same species is the same for each material

so if you get blob A, B and C, they will have the same palette if you use Condensed Carbon, for example

you can always do a quick reload on the anomaly

try to land on the right side pads

so it's closer to the sequencer

but it's definitely faster if you have several eggs

plus some colors only show if the creature has some features

for example, bonecats have a color for Crystals on their body, but not all bonecats have crystals

Every creature has a 5 colour palette, but the 5th is usually pulled from crystal or feather palette, as @proud lotus pointed out, it isnt always seen as its used for specific features that may not be present

yeah. they are there, and they MIGHT be used or not. for some creatures there are just 2 colors used for example

so when doing cataloguing, it's better to use a species variant that uses all possible colors

Ive not seen that - if nothing else, colour 4 is underbelly, and that palette is split into half light shades and half dark, which affects the appearance of primary and secondary colours

Colour 3 is nearly always present and used for the eyes, minimum

So far Ive mostly worked with worms, eagles, mogara, diplos, a little bit with blobs, and am just starting with cats, so youve almost definitely observed a wider range

I have a ton of eagle pics but managed mess up the associated list of seeds so need to go back and sort those out at some point. I have probably 2 dozen or so worm pics as well. However, only about a third were resequenced, testing most of the cooking products for colour variations. The rest were experimental, using Mjstrals brute forcer to figure out how to custom colour pets.

Sentinel Quad pet facts

General:
-They can be mounted if they have been genetically modified to be larger, and have different animations for walking and running
-They can't wear accessories
-If you shoot them, it will alert sentinels

Egg sequencer:
-Adding growth hormone seems to have effect despite the egg sequencer suggesting that the size is inherited
-Using gene splitter will destroy their Sentinel speech patterns
-At the moment it seems that they can't be recolored and will be orange as infants and turn blue when they reach adulthood
-Personality can be modified

Haven't tried yet, I just did one 100% modification in order to see how much it affected, and the infant sentinel quad is the size of an adult sentinel quad.

Not really - it is tied to an item in the inventory instead of companion register.

Someone needs to verify the companion coloration though. I used gold which should result in white, but now that I look closer it is light blueish

coloration is a bit different depending on the model

it's probably an overlay added to the base coloration of the model

It might actually be that the sentinel quad uses the coloration system of osteofelidae. This needs to be confirmed though.

The issue with that however is that blobs have a ton of variation when it comes to head items

All are possible

So they may be an exception where you have to test a couple of times
