I've noticed that some skills within an element type will share the same name, but be deployed with different technical details: toxic Envenom for example, I have two creatures with that skill - one is a 3-turn incremental volley, the other is a 1-turn repeatable booster.

The second creature also had a heal, so I would just alternate, and when going against 3x tropical, by the time I got to the third, Envenom had built enough momentum to just one-shot the last creatures--well, as long as it didnt have a strong reflective shield up 💀🤣

the way I see it, there can really only be one determining way to fairly battle, and it's based on the gene edit stats
For example this is how I would do it:
Unleveled (0 gene edit investment), Partially Leveled (example: 15 gene edit points), and Fully Leveled (max gene edit investment w/ perfect abilities)

I had two fights with Oceanos and one with a random player... my pet had 600 HP against another with 2000 HP. I already suspected there wouldn't be any balancing... but I didn't think there would be players with such high stats right at the start.

I became more curious about the ranking system, if there is one... it will likely be dominated by those who manipulate stats through some save file editing tool.

It's pretty straightforward tbh. Mostly desert terrain will be Desert with some also having Fire types. Fire types will always be on Hot or volcanic planets. Mechanical tend to be in more obscure planets rather than the weather effected planets. Toxic and Radiation are always at their respective planets where their weather spawns. Same for Ice

That’s a good point I hadn’t thought of — I guess the period when it can feel like cheating is more in these first days where it would be near impossible to have maxed out pets on day 1 or 2 … but by this weekend anybody could have a gang of maxed creatures if they just leveled them enough. So it’ll be pretty tough to tell.
I suspect it’ll get to a point where nobody rally bothers with pvp until they have a maxed team of a good variety — then it’s really just about skill/luck vs which pets are artificially “OP”

None of the schemes were very clear because normally it's fire strong against plant and weak against water.

NMS is fire attack, strong against ice, weak against desert, and fire has strong defense against anomalous and weak defense against radioactive.

cant change class stats thru sequencing, it's completely predetermined for an entire species
the only thing you can do is change their height/weight stat which will verrrrrry slightly change the agility/hp stats
there isn't really a popular set of abilities since most ppl havent maxed their pet to the point where they can change them

after you lvl it to 30 and unlock full agility/combat/hp stats you can spend more gene edit points to cycle the abilities within their slot
it's incredibly slow and expensive to do so

I've been searching in isdorajung and pretty far out, mostly SSAs at best. Yet to find a SSS. Never checked my catalog/compendium tho. I also tried calypso trying to see if aggression made a difference and it doesn't seem to from my hunting.

Also tried checking old rendezvous and stuff "discovered by hello games" and it seems pretty standard

Was able to find at least an SSA in each element in a few hours of hunting tho.

Green, likely; hairy, random. Different creature categories (cat, cow, deer, etc) have their own list of body permutations and skin shaders. So they don't follow the same rules, but usually similar.

Find a planet that has predominantly one type of creature (e.g. nature, typically Starbulb planets) and fight it with its weakness (e.g. Toxic), and find a trade outpost via ship scanner, and you'll have weak planetary battles that focus on that planet's type (nature, in this case) that are easy to roll through.

Bonus - use your Discoveries Log to pin a resource (e.g. Starbulb/ paraffinium) to have your ship computer point to the closest star system that contains that resource from the galaxy map.

Yeah, those three are on a spectrum. My pet at 83% gentle procs a combat effectiveness debuff on opponents. Wonder if the top trait of the three is accounted, or if all three can come into play. The higher the trait, the more it goes off i assume.

also, the frameshift ability on the boundary horror is wayyyyy stronger than any other creature gets for that move

I think I've managed to categorize every move type, I just need to find which slot the ability "increase dodge chance by X for X turns" is in (not the single turn dodge, that is different)
I havent seen it yet besides on the corrupted quad but I dont think it's a unique ability, probably just my luck
