Size isnt random, but doing the genetic mutation thing both is and isnt random. Its like a sequence, sorta, but because every creature starts differently, its hard to figure out what the universal pattern would be, if it can be figured out at all

You can increase size up to a maximum value determined by the creature ID, you know you have reached this maximum value if the value says inherited instead of increasing. For example any of the below (Flyingsnake and flyinglizard) can only be sequenced up to 1m, to go above that value requires a save editor.

Even then a new egg induced from a creature above their maximum size may require a little sequencing to force that edited size, @vapid zealot if I can guess what the large egg may be you will likely have to input 1 of any small item into the neural calibrator (1x carbon) to force the edited size.

Listed in the pins you can find some correlating colour guides and behaviour guides not all creature IDs apply this same palette when sequencing but it helps.

Specifically for the above you can apply this guide.

I never got a satisfactory response to my question a few days ago, so I'll try again. The following fauna, recorded as a wonder for highest Psionic rating but also 1/1 for fauna on a lost planet got me 2500 nanites. I just did another lost and recorded 1/1 again and only got 250 nanites. Interested in the reason for the difference.

I'm not sure why, since you're only supposed to get 250 nanites per fauna species present on that world when scanning all of them

Maybe you also pressed the "upload all" button which awards nanites for uploading discoveries

Using the sequencer will only give you one other physical change, so by using the expedition worm you’ll only ever get one other mode from the sequencer.

Anything outside of that would require a mod to tame, or a save editor which allows that creative freedom.

Can anyone break down how creatures are pathed to react with autofeeders/livestock units? Is it based off of our LOS or proximity or something? Ranching is hard, yo.

Whenever I’m at a base that has them set up, the creatures will flock to them, as long as I’m able to keep them in view. The moment they are no longer within LOS, they despawn and I have to go back out and lure them all in again.

Is this intended? Because it sure as hell is a busted way to farm. No other resource extractors require constant attention.
