Some things, like the crab/spider ones, have slots for multiple legs but sometimes they might only have two or three on each side

On crab bodies you can see the empty leg sockets where legs would be

Mutations basically just randomize which body parts you get for that specific creature type

You’ll be able to claim it from the QS vendor bot on the Anomaly. Functionally, the expedition is treated as a separate save (even when launched from main save) and expedition/twitch rewards are unique to each save you make, account-wide. So you’ll be able to claim it there and on every other save you own/make.

If it’s launched from a main save, when the expedition finalizes, it converts most things to units, nanites, and yes I believe it also tracks QS to merge back into the main save.

If it’s launched as a fresh save from main menu, no. It’s unique to that launch and will be there when that file is converted to a normal, separate save file.

Certain plants need certain biomes if you want to plant them outside your base.
The hydroponic room/trays remove the environment requirements needed to grow them.

Because that’s how they are brought into the game as a pet, I personally save edit, modify and trade these so I have experience with the ID.

Identifying it from the image is also how to gather what ID it’s from.

It’s accepted, you won’t get banned or booted from the game by doing it.

Just do some research and take a look in the pinned section of #nms-modding if you want to get into save editing so you can do it safely and in the best way possible.

Alternatively plenty of other avenues to get these if you decide not to go save editing.

High fliers are one of the main groups that can't be tames

The only fliers we can adopt are the one flying close to the ground

These ones do sometimes fly close to the ground. I've stood on a hill and seen them flying lower than me. They just don't seem to fly close to me, or ever land. Does that sound like one that can, or can't be tamed?

I found a smaller, faster strider type companion and when I adopted it, the creature was apparently young and transformed from a small adult into the cherubic "big head" look

and i believe by default, the visited systems sort displays most-recent-first-visit to oldest

Nope it’s not kinda right it is correct, That specific creature type we are referencing requires a mod to be able to interact with it and therefore ride.

An egg can be obtained via a save editor or mod, then handed to other players via trade, just like any other, but that does not mean it can be interacted with by that player.

I’d appreciate proper research before trying to correct information into wrong information, my biggest pet peeve.

In fact, @shadow pasture if you want two creature IDs that can’t be tamed in the vanilla game and would require save editing or a mod to obtain but don’t need a mod to interact and ride then you can take what @midnight charm Has posted, variations of Flying_snake (worms)

Another creature to fit the category would be Flying_lizard (eagle, lizard, bird)

Save edited, this specific creature with two wing models on one can’t be found in vanilla so it was made with a save editor.

The same creature ID (flying_lizard) can’t be tamed in the vanilla game, you would need the companion pet unlocked mod to tame or a save editor to make one a pet.
