Hello everyone. I'm a Switch player on version 5.0.2. I just want to confirm a possible bug. Perhaps it gets fixed in a later version. So don't want to report it if there's already a fix coming in a later version.

All my fauna (old and new ones) have their head aimed to the right no matter where I stand or if I ride them. If I stand far enough the head goes back to normal.

There are some very specific things to look for when trying to find the mechafauna:

• You must be in an Uncharted system (Red, Blue, Green stars, preferably in Red).
• After scanning the system either via Freighter or by landing on the planets:
• Either select the Exploration Guide in your logs to check how many fauna species are on that planet.
• Or look at the hint at the bottom right hand side of the screen after scanning anything on the planet while exploration guide is selected from the logs.
• Or look into the Discovery tab to find the total number of creatures.
  The planet must have 2 animal species only.

📖 Did you know?

• Mechafauna can be tamed, ridden, but they can only be decorated on their chest.
• Creature Pellets can be used to tame them, but only with Automated Feeders. Direct interaction uses an Ion Battery, and they produce chewy wire instead of organic materials.

It’s whatever biome you first hatch it in. In the companion’s menu, it should tell you the climate the pet is “native” to.

Also I do believe that any egg can be hatched in any biome, but eggs can only be acquired when the parent is in their “natural habitat” (emphasis on I think, as it’s been a bit since I last did some egg sequencing tests lol)

There isn't much info on it yet but it does seem to be bugged from what I'm hearing

Helpfulness means they sometimes (very rarely) get you random items

Devotion is how annoying it will be while you're trying to scan something

Playful means they sometimes poop and give you faecium

Gentle/aggressive is how likely they are to help in combat

There is not a "best" when it comes to companions

As for what items to use in sequencer, there are charts online

Best thing you can do is try it. You can only change color while a creature is in the egg. So have it lay an egg, then dye the egg with the sequencer

If you find a creature, you can place a base computer on that planet. Bases will transfer over after the expedition if you used your main save to start it

So just warp to that base computer after the expedition and find it again

yup. I tampered with the egg just to change color. First generation I added Dioxite to make it more blue and got a lighter shade. Then, with his egg, I added Indium, trying for a darker shade, but it turned out red (or a very dark shade of pink, I'm waiting for it to grow so I can know for sure)

You can have your pet lay an egg and then abandon them so you still have a copy of them as an egg inside your cargo container

Probably less work to retrieve them if you just have them lay an egg and store it before dismissing the parent
