If you're on steam deck, you'd be able to save edit one of those flying creatures that you can't tame in vanilla nms. Maybe check #nms-modding for help with save editing. Or you can also check if someone has an egg of one they can trade you.

you can summon them anywhere.
Happyness is only needed when you want them to lay eggs, otherwise it's just a flavour mechanic.

Eggs can only be laid when in native biome type, but they will survive anywhere (they cannot die)

They are just visual changes, offer nothing different. Here are images of both, the first image is the standard expedition worm, the second is what occurs when any item is used to alter appearance.

The only way to get more varying results is save editing or modding which can allow players to get flying_snakes like this

It is, any sandworm that is not these two are save edited or modded. The one I described as heavily save edited is because it uses multiple sandworm “parts” on one creature.

When it comes to something that would normally be unobtainable, stats are not even a factor, let alone something as meaningless as pet stats

Also I'll warn you that that specific gender of the creature seems to be rare. It's on my home world and IF I see that species, 9 times out of 10 it's the other one which is four legged and has no arms. Also they're cave dwellers so you'll have to find a cave.

My main base on that planet is adjacent to a cave so if you visit for a few you might see one at the feeder.

Okay. So I checked it. System is Eissentam and galaxy is Hyugama-Fenalp and the planet is omfordog gayas. You might not be in Eissentam. So if you go to the Amomaly there should featurred bases and one of them will take you to Eissentam. You will you you are there is the top left in the galaxy menu says Eissentam. Look for portal input code and Bam! you are there.

Ya, just wondering what to look for on future planets. I've been to a dozen that have the 1 "weird" fauna; wasn't sure if it was a super rare second fauna, or I should just hit more glitched/sharded planets

The only times I find ANY of the new fauna or flora are from Red Stars, and the weirder the naming convention of the planet the more likely they'll be on that planet.
Like I found some REALLY huge robot building fauna on a "Dark Wine [REDACTED] Planet" its entire atmosphereic color filter when on the planet was a dark purplish red and all the flora were HUGE

Machine/Hexagonal/Sharded planets have a high percentage in Red Stars too for me

If I remember right those living buildings only spawn in systems with robot fauna

Used to be if the fauna count was 2. If you land on a planet in an uncharted system you can point your scanner on the ground and the part where it tells you about the fauna will say something to the effect of "Robotic" or once you land you can look at the companion quick menu and instead of the normal creature pellets you'll see ion batteries

Not sure if the new living buildings are capped at a certain amount per planet or not. If they are and it's something like two each, then the fauna count would always be four

Breeding does nothing other then just produce an egg that you can later try to modify, pets do protect you when a predator hurts you but other then that they are just epic modes of transportation when you dont have any Exocrafts built

Are you hopping with the freighter and using the system scanner? Any planet with 3-4 fauna is sure to be synthetic aswell systems with K2p specifically is guaranteed

No, hopping with a Solar that has both economy and conflict scanners

Id recommend using your freighter for faster results, that way theres no need to land on the planet unless you know its the one

They arent too rare but sometimes its hard to find that system

But once you find them the planet may have from 2-4 different types

I just had a planet with 2 Robo Deer and 2 species of Archive Walkers but the "male" and " Female" are different entirely so i get 4 Walkers just from one planet

I like how it looks like a Station with possible Landing pads on it! I just ask for a future update where we build our own Mobile Planetary Station that moves and behaves similar to the Walkers but have a Navigation system where you can either have it just Wander or Preplan a pointed location on a Planetary map/globe (obviously travel time would be similar speed to a starship when setting a destination)

After traveling 1 million light years through a black hole, I came upon a planet that is home to three species of striders, as well as the most beautiful and unique creature I have ever seen in this game. The head-flower seems to change colors periodically between lime green and cyan

Uncharted systems ive personally have had my luck with systems with the letter K in the code (exp: K2p, k8fp, k0, etc.) each planet found with the Walkers will have 4 variants of walkers AND 2 Antelopes but Species/registered life will only say 4 life forms

The Archive walkers are just Robotic Buildings Given legs and had Powerful AI that became Sentient
