I believe the only slot with unexpected effects is the gene splitter

Size you can predict based on what you add. For example, some materials will increase, some will decrease. It is not random

Colors you can use one of the charts fixed on this channel to know what material to use to get an specific color. Or if you want a surprise just pick a material you like the color and try it out 🙂 personally, here i always go for 100% to make sure the change is complete, like no color in between but that is your choice ^-^

Neural-calibrator will define if it is aggresiveness and how much it likes you and needs attention. There are also specific materials for those, you can find the docs or play by yourself with it

Here is a tip: when you change the size something, it will appear as change and the others as inherited. If you reached max size for the species, the size will also appear as inherited, so no need to keep going

I tried looking at the pinned guides but just ended up confusing myself. All I'm trying to figure out is what materials make the creature increase in size. And what are the limitations in terms of how big a given creature's offspring can become? ive been altering a dinosaur that was 3.4 m tall and for a few generations he seems to have capped out at 5.0 m. In the sequencer Im able to find a dose that says "100 percent" for size, but it indicates that the trairs will just be inhereted. I can't find anything to make it say its increasing or "overdosed". Are there materials I need to try, or does this mean I hit the limit?

When using the sequencer and increasing size, once you reach the point where it says inherited, they're at max size. As for things for increasing size, I like using chlorine but something like storm crystals work well as well, depending on how many you have.

I use Magnetised Ferrite cos you can have an automatic mine for it

Aside from the basic bigger/smaller and paired behavioural traits, the specific material used makes zero difference in result; rather, the amount of material required to hit that 100% Dose varies between materials that share basic effects.

Ah i get ya, just a bug not sure what happened there.

This problem usually occurs when a player tries to duplicate an egg in any other way besides trading it and reloading a save. Your case is just a bug, nothing can be done with the egg so best to just discard.

Other possible issue is obtaining an egg when you already have the max eggs you can hold (which is 18)

Majority of those “broken tech” eggs are produced from duping, i don’t know why you are getting an issue.

I am unable to view the video you sent but I’m guessing whenever you interact with the sequencer there is an egg present already in it?

Not sure and this happens every time you interact with the sequencer?

I use a lot of the prefab and alloy base parts and the material I mainly need is pure ferrite and you can get that from ferrite dust from anywhere

You're also gonna need salvaged technology to unlock base parts

do all materials used in the egg sequencer have different levels of effect? For example, if I put 1 fungal mold it'll grow my pet an extra 0.6 units tall but if I put carbon it'll grow 1.3 units tall. Just wondering

Well the reason I use storm crystals is because I've used different materials and the outcome has been a little smaller of an outcome
So oxygen work but less of an outcome depending on the companion
I've tested it out and now I only use storm crystals

@wise marten in terms of switch you can’t, but the sentinel quad was foremost a expedition reward then a twitch drop, they can be save edited into someones game or given as a egg by a player who has one.

I use save editing mostly for research/demonstration purposes, sometimes it's waaaay faster to just edit together something I know is possible but cannot find without major time investment
