Modded pets usually take a long time such as birds but can lay eggs after a few days while age still shows up as Infant

As they're kind of the poster girls of my home planet (the males have different heads, rabbit/deer like), here is my first pet!
The cool thing about them is that they sometimes hunt other creatures (apparently for their Faecium), but never attack me.
Also, the photo mode in this game is unreasonable amounts of fun!

Being able to place companions in bases and set them on a path like in some other games would be a nice addition and add some spice to the companion system. I don't care to have them out much unless I'm taking pics of them but I'd use them as house pets for sure.

I've seen that they can lay eggs but not really looked into what can even be changed with them. The only egg I ever hatched was just a copy of the parent during that pets expedition a while back and before that I never tamed one

Follower, they can fight, they can bring you stuff - and ofc you can ride ones appropriately sized

I believe the only thing a pet will attack is others fauna, and only when it's temperament is aggressive.

Save edit the egg and when it’s hatched in game it’s rideable without mod

If it’s on the ground in vanilla yes mostly, besides some types, and flying is limited to a couple, butterfly cover most ground as a vanilla pet

Ground ones I can think of you can’t tame normally is the gophers, turtles and moles, swarms, and other ones that pop out of ground/dig through

And the ones that pop out of ground become invisible any sort of way of saving it so no use in going after those
