the butterflies fly low enough and land even, just like giant beetles and that strange spine thing I posted recently, but the ones you see way up in the sky, even if they crash into the ground, lack the interact prompt without mods

if I see any butterflies like that I often feed them and ride them since they can move fast which is helpful when scouting out planets

if you ever find a monolith, the things that give you the puzzle where you have to pick the right thing to do, if you have a gift of that systems main race you can interact with it again, giving the gift to get that planets portal location, and each planet has one

oh god - I was trying to find the last elusive underground creature in a world, spotted a red dot in a cave and entered it - as I entered it, it disappeared: very disappointed I exited and entered again, then the red dot appeared again - poor thing was stuck in some cobalt stalagmite - I scan it and feed it just to get some harvest, but then I look at it better and I decide to adopt it as companion

I leave the cave and I get distracted and attacked by a hostile creature - shield down, I try to feed the hostile quickly since I have the mining tool and I couldn't switch over quickly, but I fail and I get another hit, as I clumsily try to jetpack away to change the tool I see the companion slaughtering the offender - I did NOT know they would protect me

I find big animals move slow and don't cover much ground.

The smaller animals move real quick and provide a huge advantage when a storm is near.

Egg Sequencer Guides to Color, and Materials.
They do not give the percentage of effect, for example both oxygen and storm crystals increase growth BUT storm crystals are more effective in increasing the size of your creature while oxygen is not as potent. (The percentages can be found in the NMS wiki under collapsible menu lists).

Max effective for growth = Storm crystals
Cakes increase dependency and decrease independence
My favorite color schemes are:
Uranium (Purple/green)
Carbon (Red/blue)
Living Pearl (Purple/pink)

Mutations cycle back and forth of stable and unstable, and to get the part you want may require several eggs and alterations to get the part you want, even then it's not a guarantee. I would suggestion one separate isolated version of a creature's lineage to experiment with.

Generally I find the air and ground creatures are easy to find, though you need to keep an eye on if they're only active during part of the day or in the north or south, if there are any Rare/Underwater creatures, particularly if there are 2 common ones, it's probably a shark most commonly seen in deep water, and underground ones can just be a pain regardless

i often just miss 1 or 2 and i have no clue how to find them since they are not in the list

the list only shows the first 9 creatures, then you have to scroll the list to view the remaining creatures, which are the underwater then underground creatures, with the underground ones being fairly rare even when 'common' unless the planet has a very high density of caves
